Batman with 2 weeks prep time.

Uhhhhhh none? Probably Super Duper Sajin God Golden Superman.

Unless you are doing a hypothetical 41k revived emperor. Then literally no one.

When he, half dead, took Horus out of existence. Not that he'd be capable of the same feat at the moment, mind you, but he's capable of it.

That's a /tg/ character the God emperor of mankind.

>>
>>82425064
30k Emp is at least a Galactus level threat. Fucker banished beings capable of raising entire star systems with a look and a single word.

Hell, he only lost to a clone of his, who was empowered by 4 actual reality shaping gods, who had untold millennium to grow/train in a pocket dimension, and when the Emperor still had a majority of his power tied up in helping keep trillions of demons from popping out from a portal inside his throne.

And Emps still killed that guy so hard with his mind that his very soul ceased to be. Despite being claimed by said gods.

40k puts anime to shame with it's horseshit power levels.
>>
>>82425563
Lolwut? Supes could obliterate Kharn. Angron on the other hand might be more of a challenge

>>
>>82424557
Ghost Rider might do it - the Emperor's got a strong soul, but he's also been responsible for a lot of pain.

The higher-up versions of Captain Atom can blow up universes.

Spectre could probably turn the Emperor into taffy if there wasn't some bullshit like there always is.
>>
>>82425671
U dun it now
>>
>>82425744
He's literally God. Or close enough to it
>>
>>82425744
Not really. It's a major element of the setting that he's dead and he's not likely to ever return, and pretty much every time we hear about something he did, it's clear he was a very flawed person.
>>
>>82425744
He's God actually.
>>
>>82425349

>>
>>82425763

>>
>>82425744

>>
>>82425668
Come to think of it, has there ever been an official liscensed Warhammer 40K comic?
>>
It's funny normaly I hate powerlevel wankery but with the emps it just feels right
>>
>>82425733

Either he will be the only god of Chaos or will reincarnate as a god of Humanity.

GW will never move the story that far though so w/e.

Remember this is a guy who the Chaos God's shat their pants over when he was still just a little demi-god cranking out space marines.

Emps is a god on par with any other that has existed in 40k after trillions of souls being fed to him everyday.
>>
Thor or Sentry?
>>
>>82425873

Well he's basically the entire driving story behind 40k. So it makes sense that everyone has hard ons for him.
>>
Does /co/ like Warhammer?
>>
Sly Marbo
>>
>>82425873
Because the Emperor is just so fucking cool, so it actually feels fine. I know this is a fanfic, but this is one of the best descriptions of the Emperor I've ever read

An impossible strength caught the beam, forced it back, solidified it and shattered it. Darkness was swept away in a tide of broiling light, rushing into the void like water. Husk soldiers froze immediately, cracks sweeping through their bodies before they exploded into shards of rock and clouds of ash. The last handful of World Eaters fell to their knees and collapsed, their minds unable to comprehend what was happening.

" ‘No,’ said the man walking through the tunnel. He was twelve feet high in mammoth golden plate, brilliant sword gleaming along with lethal claw. And he was a thirty thousand year old wise man, bent and weary upon his staff. He was a short man carrying a flint spear with his jumble of furs and a tall man in a coat of white, clipboard at his side. He was a thing of laboratories and blinking circuits, of swirling cauldrons and moss filled caverns. A dragon slaying knight on a bloodied charger and a mummified corpse, lashed forever to a tomb throne. He was everything mankind could be at once and more.

And all of that was the Emperor."

Emps is about as powerful as a human could possibly get while still being human. His personality, his flaws and biases all continue to shine through no matter how powerful he might get.

For every flawless act there's at least one where he made a mistake or fucked up. He's incredibly capable but far from infallable.
You and understand the point of view of his loyalists, ready to march into hell for him. But you can understand his rebels too, wanting to break free from his totalitarian regime.

Reminder that this is the most badass individual in 40k. Not Horus with his chaos undivided powers, not the Emprah with his pure mastery over the metaphysical realm. Not the C'Tan who could bend the very fabric of reality or the Eldar who could light and extinguish stars themselves.
This is Ollanius Pius, a human with no super powers, just his duty to his Emperor. This was his final moment, before his sacrifice gave the Emperor the motivation he needed to not only kill his favored son, but erase his soul from existence.

Surrounded by warp horrors and superpowers, he held the goddamned line.

Its fuzzy what the Emperor's carcass does and what the 'chorus' of psykers sacrificed to it do.
Sometimes the lore says the Emperor is holding back the warp monsters from the damaged human webway while the psykers power the astronomicron, others say the Emps does both and he simply feeds on their energies, and others say he does neither and the psykers do all the work.

Either way the Emperor on the throne is not what we're talking about.

The 24 hour time limit means the GLs would have to keep leaving the warp. I'm not saying they'll walk in and their rings will stop working, but the first time they all decide "We need to leave and recharge" because of how the warp works, only half of them would re-appear where they want to. Some would end up back in time, some in the future, some halfway across the galaxy, etc.

Basically, my stance on the GLs in the Warp would be they'd make a good spearhead but every subsequent regroup would cost them manpower.

And in any case if the Warp was ever permanently disconnected from reality the vast majority of intelligent life would either die or go instantly braindead from their soul being severed from their corporeal form. Believe me there's no winning where the Warp is involved.

To understand why the 40k universe, the best place to start is the Lasrifle.

The Mars Pattern LasRifle is a weapon that doesn't require ammunition (it uses power packs that can be recharged anywhere) has maybe 3 moving parts, can fire 50 times with no recoil, and a single shot can punch a hole in 4 feet of concrete. It is designed so anyone, even a backwards farmer on planet Redneck 8, can be taught to use it in a few hours, and be as effective with it as a soldier. This weapon,, were it to be invented tomorrow, would completely revolutionize warfare in the modern era.

In the 40k world, it is comically refereed to as a flashlight. Because of how over the top the rest of the universe is, something so brilliant is a piece of junk.

So?

In cape comics, everyone has worfed to everyone at some point.
Powerlevel arguments are retarded as fuck because it hinges on consistency in a medium with literally tens of thousands of writers that have all worked on the same canon over the course of the entire modern era of history.

>>82424557

ALSO, fuck it. I'm cheating.

Skaven were in a comicbook series.

Horned Rat is a Chaos God now. Age of Sigmar is ludicrous with powerlevels as mere demigods were able to take out a Chaos God, even in a weakened state.
Emps was never on the level of Chaos Gods, ever, at any point.
So the fucking Skaven kill the God Emperor of Mankind, pick the flesh from his bones, hang his skull from the tail of some 2 year old warlord, and turn his golden armor into a giant robot Horned Rat that explodes before it takes its third step and destroys all of Terra.

Early Games Workshop didn't have very many decent artists, and the ones they did have were stuck on illustrations, so it kind of fell on the scrubs to design the faction symbols.

Because he was going to eventually figure out a way to kill them.

Emps sorta knew how to do it. He figured it was all about Worship, which was more or less wrong. Worship gives Chaos more power than not doing it, but they derive the lions share of their power from emotions. However once the Crusade was over it would only be a matter of a time before he started forcing humans to take some sort of emotion suppression meds and would of killed them off for good.

Note that him saying that Emps wasn't on Chaos' level is partially right. When he was active he was a demi-god at best. He was immortal and could kill planets with just his big fucking brain, but he wasn't a god.

Wasn't being the key word. He's had trillions upon trillions of psykers force fed to him over the last couple decades. Each one adding their might to his. When the Emperor gets his shit together or dies he's going to come out as a being that is going to be more than a match for all the chaos gods and Gork/Mork put together. Along with the ability to live in the Matierium. So even if he can't clean them all up in one go, he's going to be more than capable of mulching their worshipers personally to the point he can.

The TWEEST is that the Emperor they worship isn't the Emperor they result in.

Warhammer Fantasy had Chaos Gods of Law way back in the day. They were judges who were unknowable, so alien that no living being could know their minds or even really worship them. One empowered Witch Hunters and those who fought Chaos, one was made of pure light and was completely beyond comprehension except as a being so ordered that all things became ordered fractals (so think of the Spirals Junji Ito comic), one just kind of existed in the form of a mortal woman trapped by Tzeentch in a crystal coffin as seen >>82433126 here because she fucked up his plans so much and Malal's plan was to have her freed to continue fucking up his plans, and the final one was never described before they were dropped from canon.

Wanna take bets what Emps becomes? Because I'm guessing its the fractal boy, as a symbol of pure perfection gone all monkey's paw.

We've had Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit comics, and guess what?

Ungoliant.

Ungoliant trumps all fictional characters. ALL OF THEM (except those of Sandman, but that's REALLY cheating).

For those who don't know, here's a good description.

"the Halflings wanted to know where spiders came from, so they asked the Men who travel far and wide and speak with all beings. The Men said they knew the small house spiders were the spawn of the giant spiders that crawl in the places where good beings do not dwell, and asked the Dwarves who were an elder race and knew of the dark places. The Dwarves said they knew the giant spiders were the sons and daughters of the spiders that dwell in the wilds who grow as large as ponies and horses and can taunt their prey with speech before the killing fangs emerge. So the Dwarves asked the Elves, who were the eldest children of Illuvitar, where beastly spiders descended from. The Elves knew the spiders of the dark woods are the spawn of Shelob and her kin, gigantic spiders of the darkest places in Middle Earth but knew not from where they came. So the Elves asked the divine Arda, the highest beings upon the world, from what Shelob's kin were birthed. The Arda told the Elves of Ungoliant, a spider who dwarfed any single thing from monster to mountain that has ever existed in their realm or any other, who at the goading of their dread brother Melkor who was the source of all evil, drained the tree from whence all light came until only small dim fragments remained which became the sun, moon, and stars. So the Arda asked Eru, the single supreme God above all who lead them in song to create all things that were, are, and will ever be what Ungoliant was. Eru told them 'Fuck if I know, that creepy fucking thing was in the corner when I got here'."

Ungoliant gorged herself on almost all the light of both trees, and wanting more, almost ate Morgoth. I'm not sure how he got away from that, but his screams are still echoing in the valley that they started in.

Well, logically if the Imperium of Man tried to invade earth they'd win because Superman would not be able to force such a loss of life the Imperium would back down.

At best Superman would be able to push the Imperium into a much more positive light after eventually buffering the Imperiums assault but earth being ruled by the Imperium would be a given simply because of their political pressure would crush DCs.

We're taking about fiction.

In particular, DC Comics and Marvel Comics.

You included a universe where all stories and all universes are true in a multiverse of multiverses of multiverses where a thought from something that doesn't exist creates another reality and an infinite more from that, including our own reality and a billion versions of it, but not a damn thing really exists other than seven beings who encompass the nature of human thought where its outright confirmed eventually everything will end.

In the other, two Jewish guys are omnipotent and one of them appears in everything. Where editors are actual beings both within and without reality, both within and without the fictional universes.

You CANNOT power level anything without specifying the scope and limits of things.

Know why? Because if you throw Batman or Captain America against the God Emperor, the very rules of those two characters indicate either Batman/Cap win or its a one-shot not canon to either reality.

Where the fucking theoreticals are out the window as anything in the mass clusterfuck of what will soon be a century of stories within the same continuity are put against something that has existed a few mere decades.

If you're doing faceoffs, you've lost because there is no fucking end to it and every way to start is fucking stupid.

Some comedians have mastered a form of comedy that's essentially retelling the same joke fifty times in a set, going from funny, to kind of amusing, to I get what you're doing, to fuck this, to just kill me, to okay now I really get what you're doing, etc, until that last form of it is the funniest thing you've ever heard.

White Dwarf (the GW magazine) used to have interesting articles that weren't entirely "buy our shit, peons" and the rulebooks often had fluff about, get this, non-space marines doing interesting things! Sometimes even civilians! The comics and books were also sold in actual bookshops, sometimes even for reasonable prices and there have been quite a few RPGs for Warhammer fantasy and 40k. The RPGs go into a lot more detail about the setting, particularly the bits that don't get any love from GW prime (like what normal people get up to in their daily lives, what its like in fringe space, aliens that aren't sold as armies, stuff like that)

The throne itself could count as a phylactry.

It used to be a bit more ambiguous whether the Emperor was actually doing anything and whether by the end of the 41st millennium he was just a corpse. Psykers are fed into the Throne and have their souls agonisingly stripped over way over anything from hours to weeks, feeding the psychic beacon that ships are guided by. Miracles are performed in the Emperor's name, but given the presence of powerful psykers, Dark Gods whose entire raison d'etre is fucking with people, and gestalt belief changing reality it was quite possible that the Imperials really were propping up a decaying mummy on a really fancy idol made of technology no-one now alive understands.

True, but when it comes to characters like these, you have to ask what reason they'd have to fight?
With usual comic book characters, they all are weird, complicated or broken enough that it's feasible they'd fight for one reason or another.

>>
>>82440308
They can be made Sanctioned Xenos, in the same way that filthy mutant psis can become Sanctioned Psykers. Like >>82440333 says, it does depend somewhat on how useful you are and who vouches for you. The sanctioning brand looks very much like the accepted Psyker sanction, so most people get the idea quite quickly if you see what is quite clearly an Ork festooned in aquillas, Inquisition =][= 's and prayers, especially if they're around people wearing armour worth more than your family's entire worthy value and a large hat.

Bear in mind it only bumps you up to "will execute after everything else in the universe" rather than "accepted member of the human race", but that category also includes all other useful aliens, non-terran animals, all mutants (including psykers), gingers, people who looked at me funny, people from planet Birmingham, people who don't praise the Emperor exactly the way I want them too...

They tend to be most common amongst radical Inquisitor warbands and Rogue Trader crews. You can even get rules for getting your Kroot, Ork or Dark Eldar characters sanctioned in RT, though it amounts to going on a quest, doing mountains of paperwork and then bribing absolutely everyone.
>>
>>82440776

>>82440776
Pretty much. This is one of the older alliance matrices (that honestly doesn't make a lot of sense, but I haven't got a better picture on this machine), but it gives some idea how likely a given group is to work with others.

The Inquisition tends to divide along two general philosopies - Puritans, who are orthodox in faith, and try not to associate with aliens, mutants and heretics as much as possible when not purging them; and Radicals, who generally accept the idea that sometimes using the weapons or knowledge of the enemy is the best way to serve the Emperor. Its a bit of a slippery slope though - while "burn 'em all and let the Emperor sort them out types" are often close-minded, bigoted psychopaths, Radicals quite often go off the deep end and eventually need to be purged themselves. Its one of the core themes of the Eisenhorn novels and the Dark Heresy RPG (and Inquisitor wargame, back in the day)

Jurgen is a lesser version of that. Culexus are the one in several billion abominations that have the most extreme form of anti-soul that Pariahs all suffer from having, trained to weaponise that ability, then have horrible technowatsits put into them that hugely magnifies their abilities. Its one of the things that makes 40k humans so delightful - they somehow spawned abominations that devour the souls of others just by being near them, something that so spooks people they instantly know to try and destroy it without knowing why, and decided "how can we use this as a weapon".

They added a bit recently that Culexus can more or less turn themselves invisible by turning the "do not want PANIC ERROR" reaction non-pariahs have to them into basically stopping them from being perceived. One killed the Tau space pope by getting on board one of their troop carriers and just infiltrating their base alongside a squad of increasingly terrified Tau soldiers.

And this was Tau, mind you, who have puny little souls that barely react to the warp. For Eldar like the Farseer a Culexus is the worst thing imaginable.

Can't remember what that one was, but it boils down to what units you can take from other codices in your army and how they interact on the field. Its supposed to be so you could have an IG army with a small Space Marine force in support, or demons with cultists

I think these are the most recent rules? I'm not sure>Battle Brothers: Benefit from warlord traits and reserve rolls, ICs can join friendly units, can repair each other's vehicles, and can embark on each other's transports. Allied troops with a battleforged list get objective secured as well.

>Allies of Convenience: Act as enemy units that can't be charged, shot, attacked or targeted, can't move within 1" of each other, and are impacted by stuff that affects enemy models.

>Desperate Allies: As AoC, but with One Eye Open.

>Come the Apocalypse: Ally like Desperate Allies, but must deploy at least 12" apart.
>>

Speaking as a /tg/ goer, its nice to talk about things with less intensity with a different crowd.
