What was your favorite part of Zootopia it can be anything from characters to Easter eggs. My favorite part was when Bellweather was arrested for framing predators for being "savage" and having them shot with the drugs.
That epic train chase near the end
>>82420020
that is a good i do agree
>>82419783
Judy moving around.
Just the way she fluently moved through a city designed for creatures twice her size was a lot of fun to watch. It was cute watching her climb onto chairs and roll every landing.
>>82419783
I have to say how much detail they put into it and how alive the city felt, watching back on the move i realise that we don't need our protagonists (Judy/Nick) for the city to feel alive or for the story to progress, which I have to say is very good writing and world building.
The wolf always being arrested was a funny running gag i picked up on (No pic sorry)
Pretty much everything before the Rainforest was my favorite as it had tons of world building.
Also I'm a sucker for puns.

>be me

>see Nick and Judy stuffed toys
>desperately want but chicken out
>gotta keep my pride
>leave store -- feel some remorse
>go to other store and while waiting in line see horoscope
>basically says (paraphrasing): great things you want can also be repulsive in idea. Why not reconsider.
>fuck it
>go back to store
>fuck my self-esteem
>buy Nick and Judy
>come home -- not sure whether I am happy with purchase or still embarrassed
>decide to go online to Astrology.com and see what my horoscope says there:
>"There is no reason for you to be afraid to step into a new world today. Your energy won't let you down, and your desire to experience strange and challenging events is only going to get stronger -- so you have to satisfy it! There is no better way to get that 'hey, I can do this!' feeling than by stepping out of your comfort zone and trying a new task or hobby. So take a deep breath and dive right in -- what are you waiting for? It will be an exciting day."
>similar to one I saw in store, but even more specific and applicable
Anyone think there's something more to this than the typical, generic horoscope bullshit? Or am I merely trying to find otherworldly meaning where there is none?
A bit unrelated but, does anyone know of any other grimdark comics like Zistopia? I need more of these two in shitty situations.

I feel like asking for this in the other zoo thread would be a little more off topic so i'm asking here. can you guys post or link me to any and all of the official concept art, predesigns and what not for zootopia? Especially the ones where it had the darker storyline. The 3d animatics are especially welcome too as well as any storyboards.I'm an aspiring storyboarding artist and want to try and storyboard out what the movie may have looked like had it kept the original script. It may take awhile so I'm gathering resources.

>>82424654Censorship.Outrage!
now i wanna ask the real question here, at least as far as i'm concerned. Who represented the whites and who represented the minorities? I honestly couldn't tell. There were all kinds of parallels for both predators and prey.
>>82429217
It wasn't consistent. At first it seemed like it was the prey (that whole play reminded me of those lessons in elementary school about how Martin Luther King ended racism forever) but then for most of the movies it was the predators. Except there were still things like Judy "not being a token bunny" or how you're not supposed to just touch a sheep's wool.
>>82429217
It isn't a direct allegory of any race. It was about the concept of stereotypes not about any real world stereotypes.
That prey outnumbered predators was only because that's the way it is in nature.

The fact that I was surprised that they didn't pull any punches in this movie. Like, when Gideon pushed/slammed Judy to the ground felt pretty unnerving, and that Gideon slashed her face. Nick's backstory felt pretty brutal too. No kid deserves that.
Favorite scenes have to be when the audience is first introduced to Nick and Finnick together. Even if it was a con, the whole thing with them acting innocent was heartwarming and pulled at my heartstrings.
The other favorite scene is when Judy reconciles with Nick. Her apology just felt so real and the way she was actually sobbing felt so genuine that I was tearing up right there at the theater.
As for favorite character? I say it has to be Finnick. I didn't expect Finnick to be so old-sounding and his voice really threw me off. I though it was just a kid pretending to be a toddler from the trailer that I saw. I would have loved to have seen more of him in the film since he seems to be pretty cool. His adorable appearance and his gruff demeanor is just appealing. I really want to buy a plushie of the guy, or multiple of him.
Also, I don't get why people are saying that he wasn't at the concert. I could of have sworn that he is there.
>>82436852
FA.
>>82436784
But I do have some issues with the movie though.
For one, I felt like the movie got resolved way too quickly. Not only that but I didn't really like that Bellwether was the main antagonist all along. Not because I am a fag for her but because I just didn't understand her motive nor did the movie explain further her reasons besides feeling unappreciated at work. Like what the hell, she was pretty loco in the brain.
Also, I hate the fact that /co/ ruined that she was the villain all along before I went to see the movie right after. I am still salty for that. Fuck the OPs' that could use the spoiler tags in their threads.
Another has to be when Nick gets hit by the Nighthowler serum. I could tell right away that wasn't the real serum because of the quick scene of Nick looking at the the spilt blueberries and at the gun with that face that screams "I have an idea". I was quickly confirmed right when Nick's eyes didn't go "savage" like Manchas or Mr. Otterson's eyes' were.

Congrats for catching on, seeing as that was ENTIRELY THE POINT. You're supposed to notice Nick looking at the blueberries. They were purposely telegraphing it.
>>82429217
Predators represents what Disney portray as troublemaking peoples (given that Nick is jewish as said by Rich Moore, shrews are carnivores so mr big.'s italian family is included; mr manchas and his broken house is a caricature of black people). Just like in reality, criminals are part of a minority, but what disturb me is (again) the subversive message; if you (the prey, goyim) side with the shrew (Nick), you'll win over the nazis (white sheeps). Bashing whites since Eisner took over Disney is prejudicial and that should stop.

The premise is implausible and banal, but for the purpose of the argument assuming a catastrophic event occurs, most likely Nick would end up broken as it isn't easy to rebuild the same walls after tearing them down. I'm thinking he'll be the moose detective / Mac Payne alike.
Prior becoming close to Carrots, he was effectively invincible

None. That was the best part. It wasn't "these guys are jews" and "these guys are black" and "these guys are from pakistan". It was a completely new scenario, with new prejudices, to analyze prejudices by themselves, without the "bundles" they come in in the real world.
It's basically how proper science fiction works. You create a complete separate scenario in order to be able to show a specific facet of the real world, free from specific real world baggage.

After seeing zootopia i realized all these furry characters I saw before are nothing more but humans with animal heads, tails and body paint: starfox, sly cooper, characters now look so lackluster in comparision.
Zootopians don't tiptoe, nick actualy walk on te legs, his feet have soles that touch the ground. This is mind blowing. And I hate furfags giving Judy tits. Its like they missed the point that those are EVOLVED animals, not dr.moreou's abominations.

I also like that she has no female friends or even make friends. I don't like girls who have friends. But then again I don't like girls who no one likes. The best choice is a new girl in the town. When she became she is new in town.
I actually felt my interest for her dropping a little when she became the unborn shrew's godmother.

I know. But I think it's my honest answer.
There are many other details I like about Judy. A good contrast is Fru Fru. I don't like her hair, her accent, her nail jobs.
I like Judy's "hair style" and clothing. I don't know what all those add up to so I guess it's because they are symbols of very young and heathy woman. (I don't know why but she looks healthy)
Anyway the movie gives me access to her growth and her internal monologue so I know her thoughts. It makes me feel safe. I hate girls I cannot understand. But I also hate dumb girls.
Last but not least but I like that how her job and her aspiration of job looks like. That often posted screencap of her running her first chase says more than I can say. It's a combination of self confidence and ambition and thrill. Normally I feel threatened by women with confidence and ambition. But her eyes are impossibly big that I don't feel threatened by her. It's like she is a baby.
>>82437911
I think that's the same bunny that followed Judy's train when she left and said "Goodbye Judy, I love you!" really loudly. She probably has a special bond with Judy for whatever reason.I love the idea that she's Judy's illegitimate daughter but it's far more likely that she's just Judy's favorite.

When some of the population have biologically built in natural weapons and some don't, you'd think that the citizens would push for (and in a functioning democracy, receive) the right to bear arms as an equalizer, and therefore the police would need to be armed too.
I am an SJW. one thing I tried hard was to imagine that Zootopia was not in USA but in some third world countries. The other thing I tried really really hard is to imagine Judy is a black girl.
Both are unsuccessful. I just want her to be white.

>>82438778
jesus, I need this rip like I need air.
>>82440249
Anon please...your bait sucks.
As far as the race allegory goes, I think prey are supposed to be traditionally marginalized people (i.e. blacks) and predators traditionally privileged people (i.e. whites) seeing as how predators initially took advantage of prey prior to the events of the movie. I think the shift in power dynamics is related to radical SJWs who feel that raising themselves up while bringing others down is the way to "equality." Bellwether's speech at the end seemed to echo what a lot of Tumblerites spout ("prey outnumber predators 10 to 1!") which could be said about the rising numbers of minorities in America.

The single moment I loved the most of the movie was when Nick gets hustled. It's perfect.
>>82440371
But I thought SJWs were self-hating white people.
>>82440397
Why would you assume that?
Modern animation software eats complex reflections for breakfast, that's why you can have so many in a scene without turning the ole' render farm into an inferno.
There are just too many ズートピア tweets to fully keep up with.
>>82440249
PROTIP: when baiting, never outright admit you're a SJW, it gives it away immediately. A real SJW would deny it or try to justify it as a good thing.

I sometimes feel bug is a combination of Nick and Judy
>>82440427
Finally! Now for someone to make a doujin about him and Clawhauser.
>>82440371
>seeing as how predators initially took advantage of prey
They really didn't, the only one who seems to feel this way is Bellwether.
Hell, the prey outnumber the predators by 9 to 1. In a democracy, that means the predators would be the ones being marginalized because the prey vote swamps them out in voting for policies that benefit prey and not predators (for example, rabbits with their huge population could mass vote in favor of federal entitlement programs to help rabbits who have to raise hundreds of children by helping to pay for the cost of supporting such large families, which e.g. lions, who breed on a far smaller scale will not benefit from but who have to pay sky high taxes to fund anyway)

I liked them pretty much, the little Elsa/Anna, the Songs on the Not-Ipod and the movies sold by Weaselton
so far i don´t have a specific scene i like. I like how much effort went into animation (Lightning, wind, water and such), also how much interaction was there between the characters, I mean all of them, not only between the protagonists, the whole world felt much more realistic, not like a theater play, which focuses only on important bits of the story
>>82440522
How they signed that social contract is a mystery.
Did they fought two industrial world wars?
History tells us racial tension comes from the complicated and specific history the races come to live together in a civil society.
If there really was a Zootopia with a history of how they came to live together, chances are with 100 species there are 100 versions of that history, each claiming to be the most exploited.

The funny thing is they have school performance of how preying worked before and they have a museum showing how rabbits fought a tiger with spears.
It seems like both predator and prey parents are ok with schools teaching kids how it was before.
There are conflicts and stereotype but no denial.
>>82440782
I'm not saying to sweep it under a rug, stop trying to guilt white people every 5 minutes as the ultimate cause of all worlds suffering.
The tweet says this isn't him being a dad, it's him being an uncle.
Anyone have that gif of Judy hopping in place and her hat bouncing on her head? thanks
>>82440708
That's oddly convenient for certain people. That's one thing that made ending the original script so awkward; if the anti-pred sentiment was that bad, how could they gracefully bounce back from that? Not to mention the old question of "if things were so bad, why would they stick around?"

>>82440582
I don't think Judy stepped on it either it's just Nick doesn't like the hug to continue so he said something to crack her up.
Why Judy reached for the carrot pen is another thing. It seems she was still crying but noticed that things had to be lightened up so she played along.

I remember reading that the animators visited the park in Africa and saw predators and prey sharing a waterhole. And they say "they all need water".
Still though, it seems all species have enough technology to live on their own.it then comes to the controversial issue of which race came up with the necessary tech
There's a computer at work that makes the same 3-tone beep those parking meters make when they expire. Somewhat annoying as I keep remembering the movie. Lol

I don't think a single species came up with certain technology. It's a group effort that probably leaves more room for more innovators since a lot of tech would be species specific.

You use diorama models to show abstract things such as how ancient animals live in their ancient habitat and to make your visitors have an immersive experience.
You use showcase box and shelves to display tools or weapons that visitors already have idea how it works, and to give visitors an objective and detached experience.
Now, how do you present the ancient history? Immersive or detached?
You design your museum showcase based on

I think the more likely and horrifying explanation is they work on heart rate, seeing as they don't seem to penetrate the skin, but instead are just stuck on real tight. That would mean that any time a predator gets excited, upset, angry or even does moderate cardiovascular activity, they get a shock.
Think about that. want to beat off? buzz buzz motherfucker. Late for work? that'll be two zaps; one for the panic of realising you're late and another when you start running to catch the bus. Watching a horror movie? hope you enjoy two hundred volts every time something scary happens.

While that won't happen, I wouldn't be angry if it did. At all. It's /pol/ the movie, it's gonna wake some kids the fuck up.

I would actually be okay with that seeing as it's /pol/ incarnate

We may not get a fully explorable version of Zootopia, but expect to start seeing VR remasters of films by 2030. Simply watching the same movie would be a million times better if we could do it through Nick's or Judy's eyes, VR is progressing faster than people care to let on to.

Let's not get carried away here anon. Don't forget he's the reason we have Cars 2 and soon will have Cars 3 (and Toy Story 4).
>>82442951
Right on, dude! I hope your finals went great.
>>82445658
Yeah, but he's also the reason we have Rich Moore in the first place. Lasseter straight-up headhunted him.

Yeah but, really, who gives a shit.... what can you do with that power? When russia or china attack something, people just roll their eyes, if America did it, that'd be some serious shit... also, how do you think you fund your STUPIDLY BIG army? Trade, through europe and asia... sucks to be you when that trade stops doesn't it.

Judy begging Nick to forgive her. Voice actress knocked it out of the park.
Oh and the savage animals were very well done, especially Nick's act.

Having trouble drawing and focusing with impending work but i think I should at least show one sketch a day here.
I think my next step would be to draw the actual comic as ive practiced most of the elements involved.

Honestly did this movie actually turn anyone here into a furry? Seems too silly to be possible
>>82446313
everyone is a little furry , just not vocal about it.
>>82446313
it depends on what you consider to be furry. I think nick is hot, but other anthro animals do nothing for me.
>>82446313
Actually cured me of my latent furrydom. Now I just want a regular gf as cute as Judy.
>>82446313
You're a furry if you identify yourself as one. Otherwise, you can just like character for who they are.
