I was surprised how good the costume looks without the mask on.

Heck, the whole suit in general looked pretty great. They touched it all up after the fact and the cinema screen higher contrast/lack of shit youtube encoding really made it shiny and proper black, instead of dark gray.

I want Cap in SM homecoming before.

I want him and Pete to have a one on one talk before Parker gets too hyped about idolizing Stark. It foesn't have to be a big role, But they need to discuss his point of view and how the accords may affect Spiderman as well.

Can you imagine how horrible it would be if that had happened? Scott's blood flooding the battlefield, bathing friend and foe alike in Pym Particle engorged crimson? I don't know if that would drum up support for the Accords or derision.

It would make what happened to Goliath in Civil War look like Obi-Wan Kenobi passing on into the Force.

The suit muffled it. So occasionally it would work really well, like when Bucky threw that sign at him. And other times it would work like crap, like when he was about to get hit by Giant Man's hand.

Then there were the moments where it was probably working, but he couldn't do a damn thing about it like during his bout with Cap. Inexperience is a queen bitch.

With SHIELD dead, it forces Stark to get out of his retirement so that they can take over what SHIELD used to do Without WS, there is no reason for the Avengers to be active again.

The search for the sceptre, who is essential in the creation of Ultron, comes directly from Hydra having gotten the sceptre back at the end of WS.

Cap could've handled that a lot better.

First, by telling Tony how his parents really died after TWS or AoU. Even if you believe his claims that he didn't think Bucky was personally responsible, he still hid the fact that Howard and Maria were assassinated for two whole years.

Next, by trying to comfort Tony when he found out instead of making excuses right away.

Lastly, by not throwing Howard under the bus in favour of Bucky. Steve and he were friends. He could've stood to act a little more upset at the sight of him being punched to death and then having his wife strangled a moment later.

He's all ready made peace with his dad, mostly.

Howard's Arc Reactor and Unknown Element saved his life in the first two Iron Man movies. Plus, Howard (though he never outright said that he loved Tony) confessed that he had faith in his son's intellect and character.

Tony's biggest regret regarding Howard (as shown in CW) is that he never told his dad that he loved him.

He assumedly had a better relationship with his mother, which is why seeing her perish in such a horrific away drives him over the edge.

I mean the opposite. Scott had to lay low so Wasp is forced to do field work. Strange would save the world by himself without any of th Avengers because they are in no position to get involved. The Accords are there to keep all existing heroes tied up so they can't save anybody, just as it intended. The Accords are about making sure more innocent people die.

>Thor: Ragnarok

>Black Panther

>Avengers Infinity War Part 1
I have faith in the Russos for this not to suck, but anything could happen. Expecting a 7/10 to be honest

>Ant-Man and the Wasp
Ant-Man was the surprise of Phase 2, can't wait for more ANTS. Expecting 8/10

While it is Sony, the house of bad ideas, Marvel is there to put them into shape. Keeping myself safe with medium hype.

>Thor: Ragnarok
It's a Thor movie, nice concept with the roadtrip in space thing, but still, it's a Thor movie. Expecting 6/10

>Dr. Strange

>Guardians 2
I liked the first one, but upon rewatching it, it didn't hold up that much. Hopefully Gunn gets more freedom to do what he wants and it isn't bogged down by trying to set up too much cosmic shit for IW

>Spider-Man Homecoming
I liked his 15 minutes in the movie, but the writing team behind it is keeping me at arms length. Frankly, I'd be surprised if it's good

>Thor: Ragnarok
Road trip buddy comedy in space with Thor and Hulk? With Waititi directing? Expecting it to go full dark at the end. I'd actually be surprised if this doesn't end up being one of the better movies they do this phase

>Black Panther
Somewhat cautious based on the ending of CW. I thought it'd be a solo movie that somewhat detached from the rest of the movies, looks like it's gonna be more Avengers than I originally expected

>Avengers Infinity War Part 1
Honestly? Expecting them to shit the bed with this one. Movies that are split into two parts have never worked, and there's gonna be too much hype going into this and it won't meet expectations. Plus all the exposition they'll have to do?

>Ant-Man and the Wasp
I hope the scale back on this one and just do a straight up superhero movie with the two of them. Nothing world ending, just straight up heroics

>Captain Marvel
No PTSD, xenophobic, fascist, murder waifu, no sale Marvel

I still love that movie and have very fond memories of it. I don't think I'll ever get that feeling of joy when I first saw the Avengers together on screen again, even though now I like other MCU movies better.

It's just that Whedon's style of filmmaking doesn't fit with the MCU anymore. Things are getting more dramatic and he tends to fall back on that "jokes every 10 seconds" shtick. He was a perfect director for Phase 1 when things were simpler, but with AoU you saw that he really can't do a more dramatic movie with higher stakes. He kept saying AoU will be the Empire Strikes Back of the MCU, but it was once again the first Avengers movie with too many jokes ruining the dramatic moments and absolutely no tension. For what it tried to achieve, the first Avengers was great. He tried to do something else with AoU and he failed.

Phase 3 is looking really strong

Just some notes
The internal studio changes will start to affect movies after Dr Strange. (Where Feige no longer answers to Isaac Perlmutter)
Everyone who is working on a phase 3 movies is working in the same building. (This means a great level potential connectively and continuity).
Peyton Reed helped the Russos on Ant-man for Civil War.
Ryan Coogler rewrote Black Panther lines in Civil War.
The two writers for Ant-man and the Wasp were actually uncredited in rewriting Ant-man.
James Gunn is consulting the Russo on the cosmic realm for Infinity War.

Well the part 1/2 might not be a problem after all.

>Directors Anthony and Joe Russo confirmed that they’ll shoot both movies, which are currently scheduled for release in May 2018 and May 2019 respectively, at the same time. But they stressed that the back-to-back filming doesn’t mean it’s just one story split in half.

>“The movies are very very different from one another,” said Anthony Russo. “It’s not a part one and part two scenario, necessarily. They’re just two different expressions. I think it creates a misconception that we’re shooting them at the same time.”

>When we asked writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely about that statement, they confirmed the sentiment, but refused to elaborate. “I will agree [the two movies are very different], and that was very important to all of us,” McFeely said.

>For some clue as to what the different movies could entail (outside of probably Thanos, the Infinity Gems, and all the Avengers), the Russos pointed to the past. That Infinity War will continue a story they’ve been working on for some time. “For us there’s a through line from Winter Soldier, through Civil War, right to Infinity War,” said Anthony Russo. “In our mind, the storytelling arc moves that way.”

>“There’s an overarching story that’s going to be told through all four films,” added Joe Russo. “And I think having the amount of characters we have in [Civil War] certainly prepares us to deal with probably triple the amount of characters in Infinity War.”

>Triple the amount from Civil War? That seems like a huge movie, with a lot of leg work leading up to it. But, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, we’ve already seen a lot of that lead up.

>“Much of the groundwork has already been laid,” he said. “That’s the truth. Doctor Strange will lay some more. Thor: Ragnarok will lay some more—but I think the majority of it is already there.”

>The men who are responsible for putting all those pieces together, Markus and McFeely, revealed they’ve been doing so since well before Civil War was completed.

>“We’re on set for Civil War and then as soon as they start shooting we don’t have much to do for the next six hours,” McFeely said. “We’d go to the office, read comic books, write down ideas, put everything on the wall and just go ‘These are all the characters we could have.’”

>“We sent in literally 60 pages of unrelated ideas,” Markus added. “Just like ‘Here’s some stuff that could happen in this insane movie.’ Then we came back from Atlanta and everyone had a copy of that [document] and they’d circle this, ‘This is cool, this is insane, this is cool, we’re not allowed to do that,’ and from there we’ve pieced it together very slowly. We’re in the middle of it now.”

>Again, no one would talk about any specifics in the movie—but both the writers and directors said they’ve been talking to the directors and writers of the other Phase 3 movies on an almost weekly basis, to make sure everything lines up right. And both pairs used the word “culmination” when referring to the films.

I am not going to make friends here, but i think, in the end, I prefer Age of Ultron. It's at least better constructed. Nothing seems out of place in AoU. Narratively, the chain of events make sense and all build up to the final smoothly. The motivation of each characters made sense and from start to finish, you never questioned their line of action, it all clicked.

in Civil War, on the other hand, while Iiked it, I can't help but feel the conflict was a little forced. I hate it when conflict could be resolved by just talking out and the reason they don't talk out is simply "look I have reason to believe something fishy is going on -No I am not listening to you, do as I say". Thank god, it's miles away of how forced the conflict in BVsS was, but it's still there.

What make Civil War better than BVsS is that in the end, they really fight for real reason, not for some bulshit setting, Tony is engulfed by the rage of the death of his mother (and also his father) and Cap is really trying to save his best firend. unlike BVsS, there is really heart in this fight. It's just tainted a bit by Tony not being wise enough to understand Buck was mind controlled, and dircting his rage at the one who was controlling bucky at the time, but it is at least still believable, unlike Batman wanting to kill Super man because reason.

Additionally, while I enjoyed Giant/ant-man and Spidermanman, but it really felt like an optional addition, like they changed the script late, because the movie could just work exactly the same without them. I never doubted it before, but now I have some doubt of the Russo claiming "Spiderman was scripted fro the start", because his involvement feel really like something that could easily be removed from the script.

Perhaps something like DarkAvengers?

But at the end of the day it was still an irrational decision that he knew was not the correct one but didn't care, and he was giving Zemo exactly what he wanted, but again didn't care.

He was fucking things up for everyone by giving into a momentary satifaction.

Tony would still be doing the wrong thing. Cap recognized this, which is why he had to protect Bucky. At the same time, he knew Tony was being irrational which is why, even though he had the opportunity to, he did not kill Tony, but disabled his armour.

Its a heartbreaking fight because, its two friends, becoming enemies because of a dispute, and one man pushing another over the edge.

The whole point of the movie is to get people arguing over who is right and who isn't.

>>
>>82415513
look i will not argue that Tony went into full autism mode at the end and yes this was a very irrational move and i'm pretty sure he is glad that Steve didn't let him kill Bucky - but this was a reaction
Steve on the other hand had time to think about pro and contra and was not in the slightest ready to compromise, he just came along like a dick, yes everyone could understand why he wanted to protect bucky but it became frustrating to watch
>>
>>82410056
I would be OK with Cap javing a small moment like no more than 15 minutes on the movie jusy provide T'challa some sage advice and for the movie to showcase them having a friendship.

By Infinity Wars they both full bros that have each other's backs.

>>82410096
Nah, Tony makes more sense and even then fuck Tony Stark.
>>
>>82415581
Whats divisive is the actual political issue. Steve was literally breaking the law to protect his friend but, and at the same time, Tony was literally putting Wanda under house arrest, and agreeing to certain restrictions just for good PR.

But the personal issues, I think, are irrational. I feel like I can't blame Tony or Steve for their respective feelings at that point.

>>82415604
I actually am looking forward to seeing Tony in Spiderman: Homecoming. Considering all that happened, maybe mentoring Peter will help him reconnect with the part of him that sued to be happy - i.e., making stuff part.
>>
>>82410056
I just want Bucky to have some character development and a personality beyond "suffering MacGuffin in the heroine role". We got a few bits of that with the car scene but he's usually too not-himself for us to really get a feel of the character.

For the last movie in Cap's trilogy it feels kind of inconclusive to his character. He refuses to budge, and would rather run away from his duty than change to accomodate the realities of this new, grayer world, but not to the point that he'd retire. It's a good way to open Phase 3 but it's a bad way to close off Cap's personal arc.
>>
>>82416142
None of this means she doesn't deserve to be in prison. She made her choices, same as Tony. Banner is out of control as the Hulk so it isn't the same. Wanda actively chose to do bad shit. Fixing what she helped create doesn't erase that. And she meant to do bad, unlike Tony.

>>82415513

At that point they weren't though. Zemo just admitted Bucky didn't attack the UN and it was all done by him. He's innocent. Bucky didn't intentionally kill Howard. He was brainwashed. Tony and Steve both know this. Tony wants to kill him anyway. Steve protects him because he wasn't really to blame.

Steve is right in that situation. Tony is wrong.

I mean he should just let Tony murder Bucky because he's pissed? Even though he didn't commit any crimes of his own violation?
>>
>>82416376
Steve's fuck up helped put them in that situation in he first place. He should have told Tony about his parents before but kept quiet because muh Bucky.

>He was a perfect director for Phase 1 when things were simpler, but with AoU you saw that he really can't do a more dramatic movie with higher stakes.

He has, but it's clear that's not what the STUDIO wanted.

The reason AOU is more optimistic and lighthearted than the premise suggest you it would be is because Marvel is working to defuse the criticism that MoS caught before they can be done.

AOU is a high stakes movie, but the Avengers are at their most heroic, and the third act is supposed to be feel good to offset the down turn the film was taking in the second act.

I happen to appreciate that. People that wanted Empire did not.
>>
>>82416437
Even putting all that aside, fact that she directly aided Ultron makes her complicit in everything he did. It's just how it is. I'd say the only thing wrong Steve did was not telling Tony about Hydra when he found out, because he was afriad he'd hate Bucky.

But the rest of it? He took a big gamble protecting Bucky early on, but he was right. Bucky was in fact innocent.

Protesting the Accords? Well Zemo played them all like a fool and got them to do exactly what he wanted so he was right that the system wouldn't work too. Ross was of no help at all to anyone and didn't want to even hear about Zemo switiching places with the psychiatrist, and wanted to toss Tony in jail just for failing a mission.

So yeah, Steve comes off as siginficantly more right in the end than Tony.

I think the end of his arc could be Infinity War, the writers are the same

I don't see it that way.

It's actually the perfect ending for Steve.

That kid that refused to back down in that alley fight against that bully?

Still going strong, still fighting the good fight.

Man, T'Challa had a really nice arc in this film.

Russos or Markus/Mcfeely confirmed that IW will be multi-perspective.

Also lots of Thanos in Part 1

Why?? he's supposed to be the star of the 2nd one not the first one. I thought he would put Nebula or Silver Surfer to collect the gems

>I thought he would put Nebula or Silver Surfer to collect the gems
He said he was going to do it himself.

They need to establish why he's such a threat and to also develop him.

So far all he's done is sit on a chair before getting up and putting a glove on.

Wanda needs this kind of cuddle.
>>
>>82412684
There really should have been a post-credit scene of Wanda being hugged and cuddled by Hawkdad and Capdad.
>>
>>82410946
It's pretty obvious that Peter does idolize Cap, though.

> Strange pleads her to close her eyes and not look when Thanos rips the stone out.
> She uses her Chaos Magics not to lash out but to try to save Vision, perhaps storing part of him in her consciousness.
> Tony builds a new white body with help from Tchalla and Rocket, and Strange transfers Viz's mind into it.
> Wanda ill and in a coma due to huge use of Chthonnic energy.
> Strange extracts the excess Chaos energy from Wanda, this nearly kills him.
> Wanda slowly recovers.
> Vision alive but has no memory.
> Strange tells Wanda he is proud of her and will help her and offers her to become his apprentice.
> Bittersweet sad feels.
