Actually, all of the Egyptian 'plagues' can be explained by a volcanic eruption in the Mediterranean. It's really interesting actually.
The red sea thing is a natural phenomenon that happens at a certain section of it's northern point - right where the Arabian peninsula touches Africa, IE Egypt. High winds create a narrow land-bridge... but it happens all the time.
