Him being like a god like being, OK, I can deal.
But him being the Spark of Superman? Nah. Everyone dreams of power and how they can be better. If he's the spark of Superman, he's the spark of everyone. Which would have been scarier ending

Endtown

Imagine everything you once knew and loved killed in the flash of an eye.

Now after, there's a virus engulfing the planet, you have 1 of 3 options that could happen to you...
1. You get transformed to a cute disney-esque animal
2. Your still human but have the virus still in you and could transform anytime
3. Or transform into the worst nightmare you can think of something derived by H.P. Lovecraft

Now after choosing fate, you have elite Neo Nazi's out to kill you to purify the world again

There's also some kind of otherworldly god/demon on the loose trying to reach our world physically by using bodies as somewhat of a way to possess.

Welcome to endtown and enjoy your stay,
Because your here forever

As far as I gathered, his student published something he shouldn't, he made sure it wouldn't get out, he even asked advice about it, all seems good, and then all of a sudden, with quite a casual little sentence he says he got convicted anyway.

What bothers me, is that he just says his heart isn't in it. I'm surprised it didn't affect him a bit stronger, considering how he reacted at first, and how he went through all those steps.

Sorry for lack of context, the animation guy's journalist friend visited him in Burma and wrote an article for a French magazine (which was critical of the Burmese government). One of his students works in the government, and the connection would have been made between the student and the article, due to the animator's name being in it.

Later on in the book he says that all four students show up to a party but doesn't explain why, so I don't know what really happened.

I feel like Warren Ellis really just writes variations of the same Affably Insane, muderously violent, pithy, sarcastic nihilist. And yet I can't get enough of it.
>>
>>82330166

Don't forget that John will give you cancer, and then he'll turn into a car.

Also Ozzy catching Comedian as he falls through a window.
>>

All of Ellis' characters are the same. It's only the writing quality that varies.
>>
>>82343676

And yet he's still one of my favorite writers. How does he do it, /co/?

No seriously, this assesment is 100% accurate, but I always want more. I don't know how he does it!

Hasbro's so fine with this that the most recent Megatron came with both Autobot and Decepticon stickers. And so will the next one.

Well, it goes back to his original goal.

He wanted to get rid of the unjust society Cybertron was currently ruled by. Where Cybertronians could only perform the job they were created for (such as mining for him).

Now, the Decepticons were a means to this end, and when the society crumbled during the war, Optimus, the last Prime, became a symbol of the regime he'd been fighting against. Equality could not come while there was someone claiming a divine right to rule.

When the war went off world, he saw the galaxy was hostile to mechanical life, and so expanded the war to protect the Decepticons from organics.

And so the activist became a warmonger.

But that came to a head later on, and he realised that he was now ultimately farther from his goal than he'd ever been. Seeing the cons were a lost cause, he took up the Insignia of a fallen friend, and joined the Autobots. And used a legal loophole and Optimus' belief in his genuine change of heart to get assigned to the quest for the mythical progenitors of Cybertron.
