I think Japan does a better job with arts education for the young than the west. Being able to draw with precision seems to be something their school system instills while art class in the west is kind of a junk class where you play with Play-Doh or trace your hand in a lot of schools. Often it's just doofy crafts and no drawing from life practice or drawing at all.

Me too. I think I had one teacher who had us draw objects from life once and that was it. Mostly we just made macaroni necklaces and the attitude seemed to be that we were just being baby-sat.

I think the long hiatuses during which speculation went while definitely hurt it. It might be that nothing could live up to the hype...on the other hand combining Season 2 and Season 3 into one made things tough, too.
