While I like Kyle, he, Connor Hawke GA, and Wally!Flash all share the same problem: A product of the 90's meant to re-introduce familiar titles with new characters for a new age, but they aren't relevant after the fact, Kyle was the lucky one, who still has a nice following and is still around post-Nu52. I do feel, however, that Hal, Barry, and Ollie are infinitely better characters with a wider appeal and better characterization overall.

Kyle came at an era where they removed the green lantern mythos instead of really crafting it the way Wally did to the flash. He isn't the definitive GL, but he's still pretty damn good. I'd put him above John and Guy because he DID keep the torch lit.

I can see your point with Connor and Kyle, but Wally's stories greatly expanded the Flash. He's to Barry as Claremont was to the X-Men. Everything involved with modern stories and adaptations like the Speed Force or the Rogues' development is traced back to him. And the idea of him working to live up to Barry lends him some appeal as we get to see him grow over the years.

I could talk about this a lot but suffice to say Kyle's usage of the White Lantern ring in Omega Men is more about his own emotional state, those of his colleagues and his bonds with them than it is to do with straight up power.

The White Lantern ring is powered by the extent to which someone embraces life. Kyle is a wreck in Omega Men. He was directly channeling the emotions of the Omega Men to make constructs in a battle which lasted for weeks upon weeks. I don't think that it's a stretch for him in that environment to be running on fumes, and needing to tap the emotions of others to produce anything.

John Stewart is my favorite Green Lantern.

Never got the appeal of Hal.

Simon Baz is my favorite Green lantern, I'm so glad he's coming back for Rebirth.

Barry's silver age as fuck which isn't a bad thing necessarily but he falls short in comparison to Wally, who had the benefit of better stories in an era where the comics code was loosened up. Wally also developed the flash into having an actual lore and family tree behind it whereas before you really just had reverse-flash and Mopee. All of wallys stuff is used in shows and movies while Barry isn't.

That's why crisis was the best thing to happen to flash while flashpoint was ironically the worst.

I'm not a Green lantern fan and I'm definitely going to get a lot of hate from real fans. Here is how I would write the green lantern legacy

1. There is only one lantern per core. Hal = Green, Kyle = Blue, Guy = Red, John = Indigo, Carol = Violet, Alan = Orange (I know he's never been an orange lantern and he's not greedy, but I'm nor writing him out), and Sinestro would still be yellow except he would be rewriten as a human who owns a business ala Lex Luthor.

2. Every non-Hal lantern becomes their own super hero. Alan = Sentinel, Guy = Warrior, John = Darkstar, Kyle = White lantern or Ion. Simon is new so I don't know what to do with him.
