How would Captain America solve the Trolley Dilemma?
>>82040393
Cut the group of people free with his shield, and then grab the one guy.
He would throw his shield and stop the trolley.
CHARGING STAR
>>82040393
Throws himself in front of the trolley, then it just keeps going and kills the five people anyway.
Maybe he will just think, you know what? Fuck this. I exist in a universe with tangible gods. If they don't give a fuck, why should I? I'm gonna go cash in my hero cred and get some fucking pussy.

hero logic
direct trolley to one guy.
barrel roll and sweep one guy to safety.
>>82040393
Multi track drifting
>>82040393
Couldn't he just stand in front of the train and stop it with his shield that absorbs all energy?
Now how would Plastic Man do it?
>>82040393
Block the trolley with his shield, punch the nazi who set up this contrived scenario.
>>82040847
Use his body to make a ramp-track
>>82040393
Wait for Iron Man to come and cut everyone free

>>82040393
The trolley has the FREEDUM to continue on its course regardless of the consequences, just like any MURRICAN has the FREEDUM to fire his gun in any direction he wishes and it's never ever wrong.
You can't prove those five people tied to the tracks weren't going to kill the trolley at some unspecified time in the future, so this was clearly self-defense. U-S-A! U-S-A!

You mean wait for Iron Man to come in and build an AI-controlled tram that goes on a Murder Spree then cry about it and try and bust his fellow capes?
Nah, Cap has this, he could stop tram's all day.
>>82040393
Why doesn't he just tackle the trolley and get it on it's side? why is he having so much trouble with it?
He would 100% pull the lever under the assumption that he has absolutely no other choice.
Boom
>>82041183
Trolley equality when? Super powered MEN need to be stopped. It is literally rape to prevent the trolley taking it's natural course.

I laughed harder then I should have

If Captain America had no other way to change the situation other than controlling the lever, Cap wouldn't direct the train to the one guy.
In this situation if you make a choice, you're the killer, making the decision of not taking part in this makes this a natural effect you have no power over. It's an impossible choice and pulling the lever only gives the illusion of statistically right choice.
Besides, the trolley rides a planned track. The sidetrack leads to an unknown direction and that uncertainty can cause even more damage than killing 5 people.
This dilemma is intriguing and retarded at the same time because it's a good thought-practice but most of the shared answers cause a shitstorm.

Philosophy IS retarded.

>Illusion of the right choice
Fuck off. Unless that one guy has the cure for cancer, his life is most definitely not worth more than 5 people.
>>82040481
This. A vibranium shield on one track is gonna derail the train.
