Star Wars not only had one, but TWO closures. The original trilogy and the prequels. Then they made 2 billion from a new film and have a much hyped spinoff this year!

Disney properties will probably survive for a while, the rest of Hollywood is in trouble. With WB struggling with their DCCU, Sony coming up with some really stupid properties, and Universal being the only real competitor to Disney, Hollywood is probably gonna become a more narrow field.

That's really neat. I'm fond of GotG. Not just because it's a good movie. It's like The Little Engine that Could. All sorts of people thought it would never work, and it tried hard, and dammit, it succeeded. Glad it's getting it's third turn in the sun.

Yes but you are forgetting that Jurassic park and start wars movies are released with totally different pacing than marvel movies. Fans for the franchise are constantly clamoring for more star wars or Jurassic park content because we haven't gotten one in around 10 years.

On top of that, marvel movies are structured almost entirely different. They are set up like a TV show with each movie slowly building to a franchise climax. Almost exactly like a TV show. Once that climax and payoff that was being built up to hits (infinity war), fans will finally have a legitimate reason to stop watching. They will have gotten the payoff and therefore have a much greater chance to stop caring. This WILL happen unless Infinity War manages to establish another huge villain that can be built up to after Thanos.

DC on the otherhand still has some time. Justice league is very clearly not going to be the climax that was referenced so many times in BvS. It's probably going to be an eventual Injustice movie.

Not only that, but this is what we've dreamed of. We always wanted super-hero cameos in movies and an expanded universe. This is what we dreamed of and it couldn't have happened in a more perfect way.

I'd say post Civil War would be the best time to do a BW movie. If the spoilers floating around are true you could tie a BW movie in by focusing on the shadowy groups trying to manipulate and control the superheroes. It'd be more of a foundation-laying movie, but you could use AIM, set up a few villains for later movies, and build up some background elements. As for the the lack of superheroes, bring in some of the foreign villains. Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man, Radioactive Man, have the world want a piece of the Avengers' pie.

I know they could have done a whole movie about the Scourging of the Shire, but it would have been really anticlimactic after all the huge battles in Return of the King, and the fact that they had already saved the world. I think they were smart to only allude towards it in FOTR and to move Saruman's death to the beginning of ROTK (only in the Extended Edition, but it's still canon within the movies).

Thanos has basically been set up as the Sauron of the Marvel movieverse. They've been building up to him for a decade. Once they beat him in Infinity Wars I think the audience will be ready for a break. "Phase 3" should just be for giving closure to the last couple of series that haven't gotten trilogies, and then not have an Avengers movie for Phase 4 at all.

It's a movie about depression, being stuck in relationships that doesn't make you happy, being in a land where they feel they have no person they can relate to and the feeling of being lonely in one of the most densly populated cities on the planet. Then they finally meet someone that is on the same wavelength and they end up forming a meaningful relationship that isn't just built on attraction.
