Say something nice about this movie.
>>
Scarlett Johansson's hairstyle was nice.
>>
>>81889087
It's a great movie and only memers hate it.
>>
>>81889087

Tony going over his dad stuff and finding the message he left for him touched my strings.

Also, making the element is really cool.

The third act is a pretty sweet action scene, and Vanko in general was well portrayed.
>>
It's the only time in the MCU that ScarJo has looked hot
>>
Whiplash was good
>>
The fight between Rhodey, Tony, and the Hammerbots is cool as fuck even if it was illogical.
>>
The suitcase suit was pretty rad. It was a cool addition while still having understandable limitations, having limited armor and no flight capabilities.
>>
>>81889087
I thought it was OK, and it introduced superior Rhodey

Probably, Phase isn't relevant anymore anyways so watching Phase 2 only should be fine, and that has only one horribly shit movie in it.
>>

I could and would watch Sam Rockwell read the phonebook. He's a national treasure.
>>
>>81889087
Drone fight at the end was cool. Didn't like the lack of Whiplash fight and the conflicy between War machine and IM
>>

I told myself i would only do a complete viewing of the entire MCU only before an avengers joint but after the first trailer of civil war i had to do it again this year.

How come CGI is getting worse with newer movies?
It's happening to every single franchise.
Transformers, Marvel, DC, Star Wars...
That part with the X-wings flying over the water looked like a goddamn videogame.
>>
>>81889910
They rush production.... Oh wait, this movie was rushed too
>>
>>81889910
>Transformers
true, especially that Galvatron transformation. That was so bad
>That part with the X-wings flying over the water looked like a goddamn videogame.
nah, the prequel looks more like videogame thann TFA
>>
>>81889087
There's a lot good about the film.
The fight scenes the armor up moments characters and how they interact with each other
It was just very disjointed. It felt like they took two plots and smash them together.
I think if we had The plot focus on just his meltdown or Hammers attempted sabotage of Stark it would have work better.
>>
>>81890018

It seems a common theme in the MCU is to mash 2 different plots together that would work much better as individual movies.
>>
>>81889910
cost and production mic with higher fidelity and screen resolution making flaws more noticeable.
Also directors vision. The Deadpool team made Colossus just look like a gain action figure with no eyes because the notice it work better and didn't create an uncanny valley issue thus he look more "real" then if they went hyper realistic like Transformer films go for.
>>
>>81890072
what are some others?
AoU I feel had that in a bad way but Im struggling past that one
>>
>>81890018
There was a lot of executive medling around this movie.
Fabreau wanted to do an Iron Man sequel, while the guys in the suits wanted a 2 hour long Avengers trailer.
>>
>>81889910
All the money is funneling into RDJ's bank account so there's less funds for things like CGI.

>>81890195
But that doesn't explain why other franchises do.
DC for example, the CGI in both BvS and MoS is laughable.
>>
>>81889087
It handled universe building better than BvS
>>
>>81889087

Mickey Rourke's pretty dedicated.

>>
>>81890221

>>
>>81890221
DC clearly spends way more on marketing than anything else. You can't pick up a Pepsi or some Doritos without BvS slapped on it.
>>
>>81890269
No, it looks like a goddamn videogame.
The light reflection is off, and the animations look like taken from fucking Mortal Kombat.
It's absolutely awful.
>>
Based Rockwell as Hammer was great
i vant my burd
The entire finale was a fantastically storyboarded action scene (done by ya boy Genndy Tartakovsky) with Rhodey and Tony bantering back and forth and taking on the drones
Suitcase suit
Scarjo looked the best in this movie
Some other assorted small humorous moments and lines ("I will serve this great nation at the pleasure of myself, and if there's one thing I've proven it's that you can count on me, to pleasure myself.")

The movie has some quite fun stuff in it, i kinda enjoy it more than most people, but it's pretty much a filler movie, if im recommending the MCU to someone id probably say they could skip it

Its common with all superhero movies and they still dont learn. BvS was 2-3 movies. ASM as well. The worst MCU movies are multiple stories.

You'd think writers would know that you have to make your main plot your priority. If you want extra stuff do theme stuff like Ant Man did with family

I realize it's a pretty universal problem in cape films, but I wish they'd leave the door open for any of these villains to return rather than decidedly killing them off at each climax. Even a throwaway line like "he was barely breathing when we found him but we got him stabilized and in custody" or something. A bad guy teamup movie about defeated supervillains escaping all at once and needing the Avengers to stop them would pretty much write itself and print money, wouldn't it?

You also see this in videogames. The titles that try to go for the best graphics/most enemies on screen/HD always end up looking dated after some time.

While the cheaper (relatively speaking) games that stick with pixel art or sprites may not be as jaw dropping when they come out, but after a decade, you can't really tell if the game came from 2000, 2010, or 2015.

That's not the same thing.
That be more if they did Deadpool in traditional animation

In video games the simplest examples are where the game push to hard to be real in terms of facial expressions and the like (most Quantum dream games like Heavy Rain ) where it looks ridiculous even in the now but only gets worse with age, where the flip would be cel shaded and/or stylized anatomy animation (Jet Set Radio, Human Revolution, most TTGs) where it can look really good for it's time but doesn't age badly because it tried to make a visual pleasing game not bleeding edge so real it hurts.

Strictly speaking Hammer wasn't the villain of IM2.
>>
>>81889087

I'd just to point out how it seems diehard Marvel fans are willing and able to point out the flaws of their movies, while diehard DC fans will not accept that BvS while being a beautiful (if dark) movie has some serious flaws.

Maybe its Winner's Syndrome, when you're in the lead you can forgive a stumble or two, but when you're pulling up last place you get defensive as hell.

I just want both DC and Marvel movies to be awesome. I would *love* to see a comicbook movie holding the #1 box office draw of all time, take that James Cameron.
>>
>>81892940
IM3 threads prove you wrong.

I think that part of the reason is that several of the flaws in BvS are of a more subjective nature so you'll have more disagreement. I don't think anyone will say that the Justice League setup stuff was necessary, much like the Avengers setup stuff in IM2.

Sidenote, I think the Avengers setup in IM2 did far more damage than the JL stuff in BvS. BvS was already bloated, IM2 had it's pacing crashed and act format ruined by the Avengers subplot.
>>
>>81889087

The armors were fucking awesome. Especially the collapsing one.
>>
>>81889087
It's among the worst movies in the MCU, but it's still a fairly decent movie overall.

The court hearing scene is pretty good. And the majority of the racing scene is cool, especially the suitcase suit. And Tony and Rhodey fight was great.

>>81890750
I really liked that someone pointed out that each infinity stone has "destroyed a villain" so far. It would be really cool if they were building to Thanos resurrecting Red Skull, Malekith, Ronan, and Ultron. Also it would be cross, but with some of his formula stolen by hydra it woldn't be impossible for a yellow jacket to return.

I hated the movie. I thought the plot was horribly handled and it got far too silly for its own good when it should have been a bit more serious than the first one if anything. The resolution to the palladium problem was dumb, the shield avengers promotion shit was dumb, the final fight with whiplash was dumb. It was a bad movie, but it had some damn good elements. And Favrau is a competent director it just wasn't the greatest final product.

Most shows have shit that happens in some episodes not be connected to every other event.
The punisher has his arc and a story which relates to deadpool, but it is a separate one from that of the hand story.
I'm just not sure why people felt the entire season of the show should focus on a single thing when one of the complaints i heard about season one was how they stretched the story out over too many episodes.

As someone who ususally likes Marvel films, I legit hated this movie.

Based off of the early scenes, they were showing that Tony's unchecked ego was starting to have some negative effects. Since pretty much everyone else in the movie thought he was a dick, I was expecting them to show Tony realizing what an asshole he was and becoming a better person. Nope. He just stays a dick the entire time and is confused when Nick Fury only wants him to be a consultant for the Avengers instead of Iron Man.

And when Tony talks about his father and how negligent and distant he was, I was expecting to see how Howard's poor parenting caused Tony's personality issues. But nope, Howard hid the replacement element for palladium in the model he used in his old videos, so I guess he does care about him after all! And the whole palladium poisoning thing was stupid too, in the end it hardly amounted to anything. It really just served for an excuse to have the triangular arc reactor, which I didn't like either, but now I'm heading into nitpick territory. Plus Whiplash had no personality aside from "MUH BURD". I could go on.

So, good things to say?

>hurr durr you must be ten

Yeah, that's a terrible argument. I just pointed out the truth: you can't do better.

You barely know how to do CG, that's why you feel entitled to that uneducated opinion. Learn how to state your opinion as constructive critiscism, otherwise why should I care if your eyes can't see proper CG?

You can't point out what is bad, and even less why it's bad. Full of bullshit.

>it's happening to every single franchise

Laughable.

I'm not going to bother with constructive criticism unless that team making that CGI is here.
It's terrible and that's all.
And yes, i'm entitled to have an opinion about absolutely everything, everyone is unless you are living in some kind of fascist country.

>Laughable.
Tell me a blockbuster with proper CGI in the last years that isn't Pacific Rim.
You simply can't.
Everything looks like a videogame.

If they were here you wouldn't either, because you can't.
Stupid opinions will be looked down on, get over it.

Most blockbusters get super good CGI. Sometimes they mess up the textures, like in Hulk, or Green Lantern, but most of the time, it's just so much CGI you can't even tell what's real on screen, and then you see that thing that feels wrong in the scene and call it bad CGI. Well, guess what, everything else was still CGI, and you're complaining about something else by this point.

Don't like the lightining? The textures? The colors? There's a load of parameters you could just as well mess up using practical elements and shitty camera work.

>Everything looks like a videogame.

Good luck explaining what's that supposed to mean.

>Good luck explaining what's that supposed to mean.
Motion blur, blurry textures everywhere, absolutely artificial way of lightning reacting with moving objects, overblown reflections, jerky animations that look like they are taken from Mortal Kombat, etc.

The CGI in Transformers 2 is quite good, but for some reason in Age of Extinction it all went to shit.
Years ago these scenes looked genuinely good, but now it's super-easy to tell which parts are CGI.
It's legitimately bad looking and BvS and MoS for example were painful to watch.

>Stupid opinions will be looked down on, get over it.
I'm sorry, but you are irrelevant, the CGI is shit and everyone knows.

>Motion blur, blurry textures everywhere

Movies are in 24 fps. Most movies are filmes in much higher quality and framerate, then get downscaled. CGI follows that. The blur you see is present in 99,9% of movies, the exception being The Hobbit trilogy.

>absolutely artificial way of lightning reacting with moving objects, overblown reflections

That's absolutelly untraceable. Most lightning is artificial in movies, be it practical or CG, and then there's also filters, example: The Amazing Spider-man was shot in broad day light.

>jerky animations that look like they are taken from Mortal Kombat

MK animation is motion capture. CG animation is motion capture. It's never going to get unrealistic unless it's something completely digital, and most of the time it feels natural.

>Years ago these scenes looked genuinely good, but now it's super-easy to tell which parts are CGI.

No, it's not, cause you'll never guess right. Okay, "that big green character is obviously CGI, cause I know he is not real, and he looks like a ball of rubber." is valid criticism, everything else needs professional eyes.

>I'm sorry, but you are irrelevant, the CGI is shit and everyone knows.

I'm sorry, that's just your opinion. And a wrong one too, regardless of how many agree with you. You probably dislike the movie, or the overall feeling the scene transmits, and blame the CGI for it.

I forgive you, anon. Carry on.

Also, the CGI on those webms looks great.
