How should anyone know? It could be months before it is released. And people already seemed eager to leave Homestuck with the ending. I mean all the people who didn't really care about it anymore and moved on during the many hiatus, but felt as if they were obliged to do something for the lackluster ending.

Andrew Hussie and Lord English were in the location. My guess is Lord English killed Hussie (again) and that's why the comic ended. Hussie didn't have the ability to continue writing it 'cause he was fucking dead.

Time shenanigans meant that the comic could still come to a partial close, even though Hussie had already died (the same way Jade could still use Green Sun space powers, even though the sun had been destroyed).

Cascade would have made a better ending. Even though a lot of things in Cascade went unresolved, it was still a satisfying and unexpected conclusion to several important arcs. It's hard to believe that Hussie was able to put together Cascade so well, but Act 7 didn't carry any real weight and was mostly just went over things that we were already told would happen.

Vriska was introduced half way through the comic, never had to really overcome anything that wasn't solved by ALL THE LUCK or some bullshit reviving her and had no business somehow becoming the protagonist over john and crew. The fact that she was brought back to life by the retcon bullshit only to have her solve every problem in the most mary sue fucking way possible is possibly the worst point of the comic. She could have been a good character, if she was handled better, wasn't pushed for being a protagonist out of nowhere, and, most importantly, died.

What was the point of Muse Calliope destroying existence by turning the Green Sun into a Black Hole?

Like a: wasn't breaking reality what Lord English wanted because he made the circle of cracks around the Green Sun? And b: wasn't Lord English defeated by the Juju and the Green Sun didn't meaningfully weaken him at all since he wouldn't have been able to teleport regardless?

It kind of seems like she destroyed everything (including all the ghosts and the Horrorterrors) just because she was crazy/destiny.

I don't know. The only way Davesprite and Nanasprite were able to move to a new session was because Jade was able to use First Guardian powers (the Green Sun!) to do some dickery just as BecNoir did.

The Handmaid was cursed to be bound in service to Lord English. To fulfil that curse, LE used the disco-lights to make her immortal. Condi didn't need to be made immortal, she is already a demigod. Caliborn used something similar to make Union Jack have the disco-eyes similar to the Handmaid, so Union Jack is probably the one who had the immortality this time around. And it's why Dave needed the Welsh sword to kill Union Jack.

Caliborn's masterpiece was based on something he saw in one of his screens. He surely experienced it after he destroyed his clock, but that's as much as we saw because that event was narratively simultaneous with LE's demise, and the juju was used at that time in the story, which ends the story. Sorry, maybe we'll find out some other way.

Epilogue will be a 'digital pet' Lord English, which will replace the entire homestuck comic (periodically or permanently, or as an optional mode accessible from any page), in a spectacle where he trashes any page you try to go to and then silently beats on your screen for a while, before finally giving up and skulking. this will be a surprisingly deep and complete game, with lots of relevant secrets to be discovered, which sheds some light on the fates of certain key characters missing from Act 7 ("SOME", by no means a clear and complete summary of anything. but it will be made clear Terezi didn't make it, and Vriska is stuck somewhere in there with him).

I just thought of something regarding the whole DaveKat thing. In the narration somewhere it was mentioned that trolls could feel a kind of love that "transcends the quadrants" or something similar. So I was thinking, maybe that's exactly what happened; Dave and Karkat became too antagonistic to have any kind of Red feelings for each other, yet cared about one another too much to get into a Black relationship. But they still seem to have an unusual closeness and probably love one another to some extent.

See what I'm getting at? This is awfully similar to how a lot of people handle their siblings. It's love in a way, but it's not romance.

I like the idea, though it does make Dave cucking Karkat with Jade a bit more unsettling.

It would also kinda explain how, for some reason, Vriska and Terezi's relationship is so focused on by the comic while every other meaningful relationship Terezi had is omitted.

I mean, post recton TZ still flirted with Dave and Karkat I guess, it just never went anywhere because she was spending most time with Vriska.

Of course that's very different from the pre-retcon TZ, who had formed much closer bonds with the two of them. But since she doesn't matter anymore, neither do those relationships. Her relationship with pre retcon Vriska however was important enough to be at least resolved in the dreambubbles. But not the death of the Karkat which appeared to have been a major motivation for the retcon. And of course, post retcon Terezi remembering her GO self doesn't go anywhere.


Also: Vriska proudly announcing how she isn't an awful person anymore pretty much confirms she still is, doesn't it? It's just that she doesn't threaten people anymore to get what she wants, she is just either manipulative or straight up annoying them into what she wants. And ultimately, her plan didn't need to be followed to the letter as she insisted.
