For the last time, OP, I don't know how insecure you are about your intelligence to be triggered by such a stupid thing, but excessive use of jargon is 100% the type of thing that people should be called out on. Jargon exists to smooth over communication between two highly specialized individuals with similar knowledge sets and frequently encounter similar scenarios which are difficult to describe using common language. And when a specialist uses jargon to communicate with non-specialists they are failing at communication. They have ceased speaking the popular language of English and started speaking some esoteric dialect.

This shit is unbearable. Why not just have an excuse planned ahead of time encase does something randomly turns up? Why not ignore shit you're by no means obligated to rush into until an opportunity comes up to make an inconspicuous exit whenever possible, or have a friend who's "in the know" help bail you out so whoever you're dealing with doesn't get the wrong impressions from you? This kind of extended plot thread is always feels so hamfisted and awkward. Why do cartoons and comics keep doing this?
