In case people don't get it:

The kids and trolls move onto a new universe. The kids are immortal, the trolls aren't. That's why they don't go with John to face Caliborn in the Masterpiece, which is the ACTUAL end of Homestuck's story.

After the kids have lived full lives as immortal gods and said goodbye to their loved ones (including the trolls, who die at differing times: Karkat, then Terezi, then maybe Kanaya? she may be immortal she may not) they have to go fight Caliborn and ensure the creation of English in order for them to guarantee the safety of their universe.

This results in the beta kids sucked into the Juju, which does something we don't know, and the Alpha kids defeat Caliborn and create LE, ensuring that he is then defeated in the future.

The fate of Aradia is unknown. The Alpha kids may be stuck in paradox space on Caliborn's land with the Felt.

Even still, I can't imagine them getting any form of satisfying ending. Given that we've got Nannasprites and part of Rose in Jasperoseprite and part of Dave in Davepetasprite, you can't really bring them in a more basic form into the new universe. Given that assumption I can only foresee them fulfilling their purpose in the kid's session and then ceasing to exist.

Perhaps that assumption is completely off-base, we can't say until there's more information in this supposed epilogue. I just want the parts of those sprite that I like to have some ending, Davesprite, Nepeta and Nannasprite whilst minor, were enjoyable supporting characters.

I haven't even been a proper fan or actively participated in the fandom or hype since the start of Act 6, almost everything in that Act felt so weird and disconnected.
There were good parts that got me hyped, but the megapauses just killed most of it for me.

This ending was so unsatisfying and... so empty. I read it before I went swimming and after I came home it really hit me that Homestuck was over and the ending was shit. I fell asleep for two hours and my boyfriend had to cuddle me for like half an hour before I felt any semblance of emotion again.

Not a good feel.

They eventually found out they lived close to eachother and decided to meet up for sex. They do so by having the girl sneak into his house while his parents were home and then have sex. Apparently she moaned too loud and woke his parents up and she nearly got charged with breaking and entering and statutory rape.

Dave isn't gay in Act 7 because Hussie storyboarded it before the retcon and was too lazy to change it to match the new shit he wrote.

The ending is classic home stuck. Vauge and up to the reader to piece together.

What everybody was expecting is a conclusion to every loose end, a neat little bow to put on the comic so they don't have to think about it and they can put it down and forget. The ending however is something that is up for interpretation much like the entire comic it's self. If anything this does justice to the story of SBURB but falls short of the story of ParadoxSpace

I can appreciate your hopefulness anon, it's just that everyone's been let down so many times already, when you see that we're told that this is the ending, a big question mark, you see how this is really hard pill to swallow - and I'm probably one of the bigger Hussie apologists around here. And even if we're getting an epilogue that actually resolves shit, we still have to wait for whenever Hussie decides to work on it.

I just need Caliborn's masterpiece to happen. That's the one thing I'm hung up on. It created Lord English AND the weapon to defeat him. The ending had Lord English, and said weapon being used, but...the events leading to that just never happened. The masterpiece has to happen for any of this to make sense. No masterpiece=no Lord English, no house juju with English-killing powers, half the comic doesn't even happen.

Who the fuck are all these nerds who keep trying to argue "if you didn't like the ending then you didn't understand it"

A bit disappointed.
I haven't been reading at all since just after the Gigapause ended, so I spent the last few days catching up. For the most part, I was happy to see that I still like Homestuck.
Collide was amazing but Act 7 is the literary equivalent of blueballing. It's like Hussie is trying to leave us with a sort of phantom pain, if you will. I hope the epilogues have similar production values AND clear everything up.

I'm still looking forward to Hussie's next comic. I really hope there is a next comic. I still think Homestuck only became such a mess because he lost his passion for the story but felt obliged to finish it. I think future stories will be better.
