I loved this game.
I'M ALREADY AT FULL HEALTH
>>81719949
In my opinion, this is possibly the best Spidey game in existence. All parts of the game are all on par with each other (writing, gameplay, etc.) and no one portion is better than the other.
Played this game every fucking day, anon. It is the shit. Never play the sequel though.
>>81711121
Is this game and it's sequel any good?
>>81721182
The gameplay's a little better, but the story was better in 1. Then again, I may be a little biased.
>>81720904
>In my opinion, this is possibly the best Spidey game in existence.
In MY opinion, it's one of the best PS1 games in existenceand to go even further, one of the best games of all time.

This, shame nobody on /v/ talks about it.
>>81720904
>In my opinion, this is possibly the best Spidey game in existence
>Not Shattered Dimensions
>>81722431
I was just playing that yesterday. I think it's a very solid game, but a lot of the gameplay sticks to a very drab formula, especially Amazing and 2099. Noir and Ultimate are the best characters, and they only have 3 levels each; the villain choices aren't very dynamic either. Plus the dialogue does that thing where it repeats the same phrases over and over.
The costumes are worth it, though.
There's something surreal about PS1 era graphics.
Some will pass it off as "shitty", but there's something about it that made it stand out from the overly saturated N64 graphics. Like a strange grit of realism, but realism from another world.
>>81722634
It all comes down to the design. N64 games were 7 times out of ten designed for children and contained vibrant and simple colors and models. PS1 games were more family/teenager oriented, so they had more complicated design.
Some even compromised, like Spyro.
>>81711443
WHO'S YOUR DADDY DOC OCK!?!
I liked Spiderman for the GBA.
At the beggining it felt clunky, but once you mastered all the habilities it was fucking great.

The Mighty Thor?
>>81711121
Quit looking at my cards DareDevil!
Don't get why people prefer Spider-Man 2 over PS1 Spidey. The free roaming web swing was fun but everything else was better on PS1

The webswinging was like slipping on grease and combat sucked ass compared to Spider-Man 2. And once you finished the challenges and story there was literally nothing to do.

Which is solid proof of why it's one of the GOATs of adventure games. 1999-00 was a heck of a year to have a PlayStation.
Still best Cape game of all time. Mythology gags, fun levels, humor and an entertaining story. PS Magazine gave it a 9/10.
>>81731945
Is the PC version good too, or is it better to just emulate it?
I need to play this game again.
>>81732134
I only had the PSX version. Can't give a proper feed on the PC one.
>>81732134
PC version was fine from what I remember, haven't played it in quite a while. Its probably easier just to emulate the PS1 version regardless though.

KID MODE
I might be mistaken, but wasn't there a billboard in this game that advertised Wolverine appearing on The Jerry Springer Show?
>>81736033
There was also one for Carnage, and Lizard. Spidey comments on the lizard one.
>Giant lizards found in the sewer? Get real!
Venom is lewd.
For the life of me, I will never understand why this game is so revered. Not in an angry way, just in a confusion-as-to-what-I'm-missing kind of way.
I still have it, maybe I'll play it again, but I already have before.
I beat it the first day I bought it, so there was practically no challenge or anything to make it a real investment, other than replaying. I didn't enjoy replaying enough for that to really be a bonus. It wasn't as free and open as a Spider-Man game should be (though rarely is), and the combat wasn't particularly engaging.
I didn't hate it, it was just the definition of, "meh," for me. And yet I always see it -- not just here -- held up as a gold standard for super hero games. I just don't get it.
