I wonder if she'll play a roll in either of the IW films.

This is the one film that I have absolutely no clue where they will take things.

I mean, we seen Dr. Strange stuff from the set, we know that Klaw will be in Black Panther, and Inhumans will likely use Maximus, but I have NO CLUE where they will take Captain Marvel.

I think Ideally for me IW has a small part with the original Captain Marvel and Thanos kills him but not before he gives Carol the remainder of his powers. Her movie is about being a hero that is being controlled by the whims of the government. And at first she's really gung ho about being a hero and doing these missions that save soldiers lives and shit but she realizes they're holding her back from helping the world at large and just have her doing what's in the US best interest. I don't really know CM exclusive villains. Maybe the Brood something that could lead to space stuff and SWORD.

Good writing is what makes characters interesting. So far, Marvel has done a great job. if we start from the premise that a human fighter pilot gets abducted by aliens and then powered up by them, then that sounds like a movie I definitely want to see. That sounds more interesting than just another tech-powered superhero.

Mar-Vell gets shot down during a battle with the Brood. Gets caught by an air-force base that's holding him until a specialist unit can show up.
He convinces Carol that the Brood will follow his ship to Earth and that he needs to get back to his ship so he can close the wormhole he came through.
They manage to pull it off, but get blasted onto the other side of the wormwhole and captured by the brood. unholy experiments ensure.
Mar-Vell blows himself up to provide Carol with a chance to escape, but the energy absorbing powers she got from the Brood tinkering cause her to devour the explosion and go binary
We then get an 8-15 minute scene of Carol genociding the hell out out of the Brood.
Denoument has her hand over Mar-Vell's body to the creed, to back to Earth, and get court marshaled for what by all accounts seemed like treason. Before the judge can make a call, he gets sent a message, reduces the sentence to one year's suspension at reduced pay.

On her way out, she gets stopped by a guy who introduces himself as Norman Osborne and explains that he's putting together his own extraterrestrial defense force

Preferably Emily Blunt or Charlise Theron (might be too old?). Kathryn Winnick would also be a good choice as she does the hardass attitude really well. If not them get someone who just fits the main requirements: late 20s/early 30s, tallish woman, who looks smoking hot when blonde, and is built like a comicbook character - eg., Jessica Biel, or Aly Michalka.

There's a need for a bridge between the cosmic side of things and Avengers, and the two Infinity War movies. Best place to set this would be the Solar System. To this end there's a SWORD(like) group HQ'ed on Titan - a SHIELD offshoot from the UFO-laden 60s - and they're mixed in with all the alien refugees and remaining Titans there (Thanos's people). Carol is a part of the command structure heading up the military/exploration side of things. Kinda like the current comicbook setup.

Opening scene: exploration of an ancient abandoned Kree research station in Jupiter's Red Spot. Some flashback sequences to do the origin thing. Main action revolving around Thanos sending some of the Cull Obsidian to wreck Titan. Finale: the big guy has to turn up himself to make sure of the job - Carol and remaining personnel have to hold him off while everyone else evacuates, Dunkirk-style. Ends with Thanos standing alone in the ruins of Titan, standing next to the statue commemorating Mar-Vell's life and reminiscing.

As it's set on Titan we can pick and choose: Blue Marvel was exiled here after his aborted superhero stint in the 60s - now he works SWORD's science team and is reverse engineering all kinds of alien tech; Spectrum gained her powers after being caught up and de-corporealised in an alien teleporter beam; possibly a paranoid Spider-Woman armed with a Skrull detector too?

As per her new one: textured more like Ronan's outfit to represent the Kree heritage. Perhaps with a few more complex design on the shoulder as with pic. It should look alien/military.

Flashbacks will walk us through her origin and how she was discovered by SWORD. Eventually being assigned to find information on Thanos and the gems.

Wouldn't make her just an authoritarian military hardass as there's a certain amount of weirdness/love of danger required to become a test pilot. Certainly should hype up the love of challenge/adventure/exploration. A female Kirk?

It'd be great to see the murderbitch hinted at from time to time: say it's a holdover from the Kree bits she got from Marv - something of their warrior-caste mindset which she struggles to keep under control, something that flares up particularly strongly when confronted with Skrulls for example.

Kree Search and Rescue party led by Deathbird, they are there answering Mar'vell's distress beacon, he activated it before meeting Carol and falling in love of course. Carol was recently, and unjustly, grounded from flying by a bitch therapist when she meets him. Mar'vell dies saving Carol.

See, that would be fine, but I just find it doubtful we can possibly have a good superhero movie or TV show (just look at the first episodes of Supergirl) that can have a female protagonist without constantly throwing that at the audience. Start off with a shifting in and out of focus pov of a battle between mar-vell and what appear to be a small kree force. shes been in charge of a military base which is a former air force base but actually the beginnings of s.w.o.r.d. The blast which destroys the kree ship and mar-vell also hits her imbuing her with something of his powers yadda yadda.
the movie moves to present day and s.w.o.r.d is now established functioning as a first line of defense for possible alien invasions in the wake of the chitauri attack.
The plot would revolve around carol dealing with kree forces encroaching on earths little piece of the universe and inevitably leads to her traveling to kree-lar to deal with whatever evil scheme is going on.
It introduces us to the supreme intelligence and the main villain would be Korvac.

I don't know, actors have positively surprised me in Marvel roles before. Honestly, it doesn't even need to be an acting heavyweight, Marvels movies are silly enough to get away with some overacting. Yvonne Strahovski would be okay I guess.

Personally, Capt Carol is one of the reasons Marvel is no longer on my pull list.

*Plot
Film opens with Carol captured by the Kree and she is jailed with Mar-Vell (who's jailed for insubordination). They try to escape, but a Kree device explodes along the way. Vell dies shielding Carol from the blast, and Carol absorbs his Kree DNA. She gets away and finds out about her powers.

Fast-forward a few years. The Kree are still after her, and so she's constantly on the move. Cue SHIELD finding her (like they always do) and starting the real plot in that she has to foil their invasion plans on their behalf.

*Villains
Yon-Rogg leading a Kree unit to prepare a superweapon and also to hunt down Carol, though he's got his own plans that the rest of the Kree will not agree with.

*Costume
It's going to end with her in the current one, make no mistake. They'll likely have her wear the swimsuit for one scene as a mythology gag, but only for one scene.

*Cameos
The usual SHIELD cameos, but perhaps a small tease for Kamala at the end as some wide-eyed girl who watches Carol in awe.

>Kree mothership shows up, commanded by Yon-Rogg. Genis-Vell and Phyla-Vell are his lieutenants, and they use Nega-Bands which are powered by Kree moonstones. They are looking for their father/his body/his moonstone as they believe he's been shot down by Earthlings
>Carol's squadron scrambles against the mothership but are shot down by Kree drones. Carol breaks her confinement orders to rescue the planes, including one scene where she flies alongside a plane and holds it to slow for a secure landing
>the Kree believe Carol must be using the moonstone, Phyla and Genis believe their father has been killed, and demand its return within X hours. Carol has another freakout flashback and realises Yon-Rogg was the one who shot down the alien shuttle
>Karla uses the freakout to ground Carol again and heads out to the crash site, intending to get the moonstone (which she realises is there through interviewing Carol/witnessing her freakouts) and cut a deal with the Kree
>Carol realises what has happened and heads out after her but too late to stop her holding and absorbing the moonstone

>Carol isn't able to get to Karla in time before the moonstone is removed, but brings her back to life by burning through her own Binary energy
>Carol charges the bridge computers in the ship with her own energy and shows Mar-Vell's memories up on-screen. Phyla and Genis see that Yon-Rogg was responsible for betraying and shooting down Mar-Vell and arrest/kill him

ITT: People suggesting the 3 or 4 famous actresses of the day.
They need to pull a Daisy Ridley and get someone new.
They also need to find someone like a Rachel MacAdams/Elizabeth Banks/Charlize Theron-type actress who look the same age for over a decade and a half, and get her while she's at the beginning of those years.
Captain Marvel should NOT be a 20 year old model or anything, she needs to look commanding. But she can't look too old, and if you cast someone in their late 30's, they'll end their Avengers Trilogy in their 50's by that time and that might be pushing it. It's not a gender thing, Captain Marvel isn't a suit-hero like Iron Man or Ant-Man who can be older and less physically intimidating. She's basically a Superman or Captain America, and needs to look fit and young for most of it.
Most of the actresses suggested would've been perfect if the movie had been 5 years ago, but the movie won't come out in 3 years. That's an 8 year offset, and it might be too much.

Also, Feige and the Russos have talked on how they admired Michelle Mclaren, so that might be the director.

My idea

>Carol is dishonorably discharged drunk living in a trailer park.

>Yon-Rogg is scouting Earth looking for Mar-Vell, is also interested in the rising number of inhumans.

>Mar-Vell gets shot down, crash lands near Carol. Carol goes, still half drunk, to investigate. Gets knocked out.

>They're both put in a cell next to each other. Mar-Vell is horribly experimented on. Each day he's bought back to the cell and Carol is horrified.

>They bond over this, some slight flirtation. Carol learns his name and rank, Captain Mar-Vell. Remembers she was a captain too.

>The experiments prove a bit too successful, an unstable Mar-Vell manages to break free and cause an explosion on the ship, which has been orbiting Earth all this time, cloaked.

>Carol takes a large burst of radiation herself, and her body crashes through the atmosphere.

>Cue SHIELD picking her up. At this point she gets some type of uniform. Someshit happens, like Yogg attacks looking for her. Maybe an Avengers gets wrecked or something.

>Carol chases Yogg, who reveals he's acquired powers too.

>A three way battle between Mar-Vell, Yogg and Carol. Yogg gets defeated.

>Mar-Vell realizes he's going to explode. He and Carol share one kiss before he flies off and explodes in orbit.

>At the end Carol announces her entry in the superhero world, calling herself Captain Marvel, in honor of Mar-Vell.

>A 14 year old pakistani girl is watching this from new jersey, eating a fish taco.

Boom, there's your Captain Marvel movie.
