Given that newspapers are shedding jobs left and right; what suitable job would you assign Clark Kent for modern times /co/?
>>
>>81655281
Director of Social Media
>>
>>81655281
A magazine in the vein of Time, Nat Geo, People ect.

Probably have him work at a local news channel.
>>
Reporter for TV news
>>
>>81655281
he doesn't need to work on the news industry in order to find out about disasters and the like, so it could be anything
>>
>>81655543
No. That'd be Harley Quinn.

Cause she's crazy.

Just like Tumblr.

This could actually make for some fun material.

Didn't Clark leave the DP with Cat Grant to work on a news blog at the beginning of H'el on Earth.

I still think it'd be a useful job to have. For all his power he can't be everywhere at once. Being a journalist in a major paper would help make him aware of all the things going on in the world, not to mention give him a legitimate method of personally speaking to officials and also visiting incident sites. If he (or Lois) are prolific enough, they may even be considered to be given insider info for the next big leak/scandal before anyone else.

Superman is supposed to be a voice of the people not an oppressor of them
>>
>>81656225

Supes always had a thing for dark chicks. You gotta oppress that to undress that.

>dorky guy in news media whose still everywhere

Technician who occasionally helps write or research side peices. Usually in the van making sure the feeds are working or outnfixing shit. Runs teleprompter in studio. Shit like that. Puts him in the background, makes his aspirations to be a reporter something he has to work for and can't just super his way around, gives him an excuse to be anywhere the news is.

>>
>>81655863
Supermans needs a civil job with:
1. Lose terms, so he can be permanently missing
2. A job that gives him a cover if he wants to investigate crime scenes or possible crime scenes as a civilian
3. A job that makes him aware of the things the public is not normally aware, for the sake of the human condition

>>81656585
Sorta. A few newspapers still have journalists, but most of them are now rewriting outsourced news, to reduce their manpower.

>>
>>81656894
This. The secret identity shit is pretty pointless nowadays

If he has to have the civilian Clark identity just have him hang out at the offices as an intern or something. It's not like he's got a fucking car or mortgage to pay off he doesn't actually need a job
>>
>>81657117

>This. The secret identity shit is pretty pointless nowadays

He needs a life, anon. Clark loves being human.
>>
>>81655281
Independently wealthy entrepreneur. That way he can set his own hours while sneaking some of that sweet Kryptonian mega-tech into society.
>>
>>81657277

This is what I always thought too. But I still like the writer/journalist Clark.

How about just an author? He can work on his own free time and make books.

>Truth, Justice and the American Way by Clark Kent.
>>
>>81655281
He's súper smart and educated in advanced alien super science. He could fogure out internet and becoming a súper hacker monitoring the world.
>>
>>81655281
Police officer
CSI worker
>>
>>81657308
>How about just an author?
That would work too. I could see him at least being able to make a living at it.
>>
Realistically anything that can make his own hours.
That's the best part of being the Reporter
>Where's Kent?
>On assignment
With the power creep, he doesn't even need the benefit of a newsroom being full of useful information of crimes and emergencies he could run off to help with. He can pretty much hear anything that needs his attention or get a call from someone on the League.
>>
>>81657128
Superman has his powers back, but does everyone still know he's Clark Kent?
>>
>>81655899

But Harley is attractive.
So that wouldn't work.
>>
TV journalist. Maybe something for CNN, or hell, VICE. Not necessarily as a big on-screen presence, but perhaps a assistant reporter who follows the "real" journalists into dangerous situations, and mysteriously disappears when things get rough and Superman suddenly shows up.
>>
>>81655562
>>81655953
DC made him one, but realized it wasn't a good idea to let tens of thousands of people see Clark Kent's face everyday. If he's just a print journalist he can hide behind a byline.
>>
>>81655281
OP you remember in the 90s when they tried to make the Phantom relevant again without changing too much, and then he was never relevant again?

Yeah.

Things pass.
>>

I don't know. When i hear "Protect and Serve", the second thing that comes to mind is Supes.

Also, boys in blue, and all that.
>>
During the 70s / early 80s he was presenting some TV news (i think Daily Planet had a TV station).

In fact 70's Superman relied a lot on his brains to out think his opponents. His powers were just tools.

Ours? The "No Standing" sign is redundant, tho.

http://www.newyorksafetycouncil.com/articles/no-parking-vs-no-standing-vs-no-stopping-signs.aspx

>No Standing signs apply to unloading and loading people only, not merchandise. New York law allows you to expeditiously drop off or pick up passengers at this sign, but it doesn't allow you to wait for passengers to arrive or to load or unload merchandise at the curb. The important thing to remember about No Standing signs is that they are “people only” signs, and you could receive a ticket if you don't adhere to this rule.

>Of all three signs discussed here, No Stopping signs are the strictest. No Stopping signs mean that you cannot stop for any reason – to drop off or pick up passengers, to wait for people to arrive, or to load or unload merchandise. Any violation of this sign can be punishable by law. The only time that you should ever stop at one of these signs is if it is a true emergency or if you are directed to do so by a police officer. However, you should make sure to obey all traffic signals around No Stopping signs as you normally would.

Clark's civilian life is what keeps him grounded instead of going all Dr. Manhattan.

From both a character perspective, and a narrative one, it's a dumb move to take it away.
>>
>>81655281
I always thought Clark would make a great author.

Not like a celebrity author, but just a "pumps out some sci-fi shit that's good enough to pay the bills" kind of way. He'd still need to meet his editor and all that, and you can have him sum up both his novel and adventures with a write-up that fits both.

Nah, Clark enjoys being human and if it's one thing SJWs aren't, it's that. Humans like recreational violence. It keeps them from doing real violence, so, Clark may actually be a staunch advocate for MORE violence in vidya.
