Something was named Zootopia in the UK already and avoided copyright, I think
>>81545169
I think it sounds better.
Sure it's not a pun, but it sounds more like an actual city, even if generic.
>>81545169
It's named "Zootropolis" in other places too, like Italy and Finland
they should have put in in the state of Philadelphia and called it zoophila
>>81545169
for years UK has been know for its retardation when it comes to media products
>tfw not a writefag
>tfw will never write a series of shorts that parody various buddcop films starting the cast of Zootopia
>>81545176
that would be trademark, actually
just being pedantic
>>81545275
except it should be zo-opolis
but then the title existing in-universe in the first place is bollocks because we don't name our cities 'humanopolis'.. or homopolis in this case. the highconceptness of this movie is absolutely baffling. it acts like furries are a brand new concept and not something disney has done for literally a century without having to ever explain to the audience 'see these are animals but they live just like you and me'
>>81545354
>>81545425
>>81545169
Americans are actually dumb enough to not understand the Utopia reference, whereas in other countries it would give away basically the entire plot with a single pun.
>>81545169
Exactly why did they call it Zootopia in the first place? The city's name is Zootropolis.
>>81546036
The city's name changes with the title based on region.
>>81546165
Ah, I didn't know that.
>>81545169
I Germany they called it "Zoomania". I don't really understand why there is a need to rename such things.
>>81547065

People want to see them get together, and not just rabid shipping fans on twitter or whatever, I mean normies walking out of the theatre that aren't rushing home to their Judy pillows or whatever, just regular average movie goers think they should be together.
>>81547732
No, logistics as in placement. You don't want Judy to accidentally slip and get her face lodged in his jaw sideways or anything.
>>81547732
>god this rabbit's taste in music is terrible
>but pussy game ridiculous
>>81547753
>You don't want Judy to accidentally slip and get her face lodged in his jaw sideways or anything.
it's cool that'd just trigger her predator fetish anyway.
>>8154169
I'm sure in the UK there was a Zoo or something like that named Zootopia, but also in the US and Australia (Where I live and it was called Zootopia') they preferred Zoo-topia, as "topos" in ancient greek means "place", whereas in Europe they chose Zootro-polis, with "polis" meaning "city".
So its "animal place" or "animal city".
>>81547153

>>81548897
He was thinking, "What's the face a father makes when he sees his child forced to suffer for all his life"
>>81548914
Bunnies are largely solitary and engage primarily in self - grooming, but yes, they do lick things they like. Not as much as dogs, generally it's one little lick and then back to being a fuzzball.
>>81548935

what's the best finnick plush?
>>81547654
She didn't even kiss her parents for gods sakes.
>>81548935
You need to remember animators know about the finale, which is why the scenes they draw are not drawn in isolation like those dramatic shots with Judy/Nick getting wounded - the context is different since they know there will be retribution and salvation, which I believe drives to animate the darker scenes with greater determination so that the light, when it comes, shines brighter.
>>81548990
but she did~! on their cheeks.
>>81548993
Actually, come to think of it, do WE know what the original planned ending was? From the context it sounds like Nick would have gotten the collars done away with, but do we have any specifics?
>>81548927
Sounds like a Norweigan black metal band.
>>81548993
But even the animation team thought that the city they created was irredeemable. The only likable characters were the ones you had to watch suffer, and there was no believable motivation for nick or anyone else to save the city as it was far beyond saving.
>>81547654
Because Nick is gay
>>81548927
>>81548990
Those two raised Judy from birth...least she can do is throw in some tongue.
>>81545466
you can always try. I mean hell....you might mess up the first few times, but you can always start again. even if you keep falling down, you can just get up to write what's next.WRITE EVERYTHING
>>81548998
video evidence says otherwise. although it looks ~very~ close for Stu (dad).
>>81549032
Which is why the concept was scrapped.
Judy's final speech
>I implore you, please try
gives hope and kindness after a period of discord, which is pure and now powerful than forcing unlikely ending where actions of the two suddenly led to dissolution of the generation old restraint system, where some predators could have had genuine and justified grudges.
Sequel can't come soon enough.

cardboard stand at bigger cinemas , osters there, trailers you can only find ONLINE and nowhere else, dubbed by like two persons.
KFP3 marketing:
magazines, ads in television, in radio every fucking 30 minutes, toys on the cups at the cinemas...
really/. it's just unfair
>>81545878
That's part of its success though. Basically by doing this - calling the movie that and centering it completely around the animals' animal-ness Disney is saying "this is not just another furry movie, this is THE furry movie for this generation" even tough there's plenty of others.
How was the marketing for other countries? I mean the less important ones, not UK or Japan

Just wait for Moana. With so little money put into the merchandise for this film, you just know they're gonna be ramming that down our throats in a couple months.
I mean, can you imagine just how obnoxious Moana's advertising is going to end up being? Non-stop loop of le stronk Princess song with countless imitators. Moana's face and logo on literally everything. Little girls buying all the merch....
Sad thing is because there is merchandise for Zootopia it will probably hurt its Oscar chances -- which is a fucking shame because if any Disney film has to win the award I want it to be this.
Lookin' good, Jude.

What about Execs? Maybe one of them saw it and thought, "yeah.. It's not gonna work, but let them finish it, and sweep it under the rock the moment it gets released".
Could be a reason why there's almost no marketing.
Based Pixar guy slapped Byron out of this shitty dystopian idea, and yet it's fucking Byron who get's all the praise for creating Zootopia.

Okay lads:
>We know symbolism is an important part of storytelling, especially in movies
>When Judy first arrives in Zootopia, it's on a Glitzy train. She's wrapped up in her own ambitions, still untouched by the scathing realities of Zootopia>When she returns to Zootopia, it's in her families truck. Rusted and aged, the truck represents her change in character, from a starry-eyed idealist to someone more aware of the world around her. Thematically, it also shows how returning to her roots (lel) has led to the evolution of her true character

Returning to her roots didn't do much for her. She didn't find herself there as much as learn that she isn't a complete failure because she taught her parents how to not be as racist and to help Gideon. All that was was a little bit of validation after destroying Zootopia with her racism and giving up on it. You'd have a point if we see her find herself there, but instead all she finds is that everyday there's little things that we can do to make the world better, cop or not, and that some cultures call those plants "nighthowlers". She learned more about the world than herself.

"He shall see, that nature is the opposite of the soul, answering to it part for part. One is seal, and one is print. Its beauty is the beauty of his own mind. Its laws are the laws of his own mind. Nature then becomes to him the measure of his attainments. So much of nature as he is ignorant of, so much of his own mind does he not yet possess. And, in fine, the ancient precept, 'Know thyself,' and the modern precept, 'Study nature,' become at last one maxim."

But perhaps the introduction of cooking in the zootopia universe helps almost all mammals who ate their shit for digestion purposes, to be able to eat their food more properly since cooking do indeed make food easily digestible. Not sure about IO, but I remember it had trailers playing and tons of merch. KFP3 had happy meal tie-ins, those sippy cups, big ass set in the cinema, donuts, etc.
Disney just didn't market this on its early release (SEAsia got it Feb). They only marketed a lot when it was a success, and for late releases like in Japan and China.

Multiculturalism can only be maintained with Nationalism, since two different cultures would merge into one. Turning a country into a melting pot would only destroy the host culture of the country. People who are for diversity and against Nationalism are hypocrites, because this would destroy diversity by creating a Monoculture. If this keeps happening the entire world will look the fucking same, nothing special, nothing interesting and no difference.
And since this project of multiculturalism is only happening in western (white) countries our many-faceted and superior cultures will be gone and replaced with something far less outstanding.
>inb4 all cultures are equal
https://youtu.be/2JXrDwtiqQs
No, they are not.
Preserving the own culture and values isn't something bad. That's something that I wish for not only for my country and culture, but for everybody else too.
Immigrants should stay in their countries and should work to make them better instead of leaving them behind, just because it's easier to move to an already developed country.
You can't search for a better life, you can only create it by yourself.

I have CIA Nick
I just got back from seeing Zootopia a month ago, and I couldn’t help but notice a few plot holes and animation errors:
-There is an extremely tiny man named “Mr. Big” (ironic?)
-None of the otters had gills.
-They forgot to make Danny DeVito look like an animal.
-Judy Hopps claims to have around two hundred siblings, but the last fifteen minutes of the film consists of her laboriously naming off at least three thousand.
-Nick Wilde has no head in most scenes.
Any one cosplay?
This one seems really good

Then they're right and there no melting pot. Even in cultures you have different practices of that culture, subcultures, and microcultures.
>You can't search for a better life, you can only create it by yourself
These posts are mostly wrong. We know immigrants can find better lives in other countries, even if it's true that that's bad for those already in the other countries.
And yes, most Muslim cultures are some of the worst the world has to offer. Let's leave it there and talk about Mr. Big and how he's the worst character.

basically, the two entities are functionally separate, with both sides having their own technologies, render farms, staff and the like, however, the WDAS team and the Pixar team both regularly help one another out on projects and Pixar is also subject to some amount of the whims of Disney as a whole.
basically they're like two brothers under the same parents both trying to be the best at the same sport.

Caught this and the tail wiggle and that look he gives after telling Judy his past on my first and only viewing. Can't wait for hd webbums for this.
Anyone have a webm of him "eyerolling" Judy after she finds polar bear fur?
>>81556047
Okay cool then, I might have to do it.
It would certainly fulfill my aching need to get more involved in the fandom of this movie AND also give a nice fuck you to Disney (I love the film but hate the company).

Kay Fischer wrote a book about animals
>When the journalist Eveline Riverday returned from her one year long study trip, she finds out that the zoo of her home town is to move
>the new director Prof. Lamina wants to bring all of the animals to an island to build the "Zoo of the Future" Z o o t o p o l i s. – Or does he actually have something else in mind?
...and called it Zootopolis.
He was asked whether they could use the name Zootropolis back in 2013, which he denied.
>Disney plagiarizes itself and others
>[abloo bloo bloo they ripped me off]
>Is there plagiarism?
>Considering the case a bleak aftertaste remains.
>Could disney have helped themselves from other artists also? Were idea scouts used? Or are all of these just skillful references as other movies would have used them?
>Let us look at other cases:
>Second: Only few seem to know that the title "Zoomania" competes against the equally named book of Carsten Schulze. Similarly it reminds of the planned world city by a certain german lunatic of the 30s. Coincidences? Unlikely.
>Third: the fox is not new. Disney had already used him in the 70s as Robin Hood, in a similar green outfit and waling upright as well (and somewhat resembles a certain home loan bank mascot as well [note: google bausparfuchs]. By the by, you only need to add the letter R to his name, Nick Wilde, to get to the name of the actor, "Nick Wilder".
>>81556198
>Fourth: There always were a lot of Disney animals that walked upright: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Pete, Gyro Gearloose, Goofy, Clarabella Cow, Gladstone Gander, Chief O'Hara - all of these animal characters were figures were humanized, partly antagonizing each other, and lived in the metropolis Duckburg.
>You could accuse Disney of more or less plagiarizing itself and selling it as news (compare "Kong Fu Panda" of DreamWorks, 2008+). Only thing different here is that multiple climate zones collide that would never exist so close-by like this. Certainly, these climate zones are artificially created by snow cannons and other technical contraptions - just like in a Zoo, which leads us back to "Zootopolis"
>Fifth: The rabbit "Judy Hopps", a young rookie in the police force, who wants to prove herself: This already existed in "21 Jump Street", just that here the same police protagonist was called "Judy Hoffs" Here too it's not just the letters that have been swapped, but also similar content that can be determined. A lack of ideas?
>Sixth: It is certainly charming that the animals in the moovie use "Zoogle" instead of "Google", it's consequential and funny. But this website actually exists(!) and specifically deals with zoological education. No later than this you have to talk about covered advertising, something that shouldn't be necessary for Disney. Or is it?
>Seventh: Scrat. Who doesn't know him, the little crazy rodent of "Ice Age" (Blue Sky, 2002) who constantly chases a nut and thus causes the greatest trouble in his surrounding. He too makes an appearance in "Zoomania", slightly changed, but nontheless recognizable. Here he is called Duke Weaselton, (this name had already been used before by Disney's Frozen) and instead of a nut, here it is among other a donut that he is after.
is there scans of the books somewhere?
>>81556222
>Eighth: The Godfather: - mafiaboss, new york city, wedding of the daugher, all this can be found in Disney's movie. The original is from the year 1972 and was reflected in quite a few movies - and now in Zoomania, how more often do you need?
>Ninth: The apple-logo on the smartphones, here with a carrot. Many will think it is witty and funny. But here too there are many predecessors, for example with a pear or a banana, last but not least the Simpsons that even used a twice-bitten apple - even they were more courageous!
>>81556114
They were talking about racism in the documentary, so two different people getting mad about their differences should probably be two racially different people. Also white cops and black criminals lol
>>81556125
He's closer to orange, like that shirt.
>>81556198
>Third: the fox is not new. Disney had already used him in the 70s as Robin Hood, in a similar green outfit and waling upright as well (and somewhat resembles a certain home loan bank mascot as well [note: google bausparfuchs]. By the by, you only need to add the letter R to his name, Nick Wilde, to get to the name of the actor, "Nick Wilder".
>implying that Nick is somehow the exact same as Robin Hood
This fuck is delusional.
>Fifth: The rabbit "Judy Hopps", a young rookie in the police force, who wants to prove herself: This already existed in "21 Jump Street"
Yeah, no shit. Coming up with a 100% original idea these days is impossible; ANYthing you do, someone else will have done something similar in the past.
Here he is called Duke Weaselton
Yeah, this shithead is delusional. "hurp a durp, 2 characters look slightly similar? OMG PLAGARISM!!!!!!!!!!!!"
>Eighth: The Godfather
It's called a "parody", sweetheart. Not plagarism.
>Ninth: The apple-logo on the smartphones, here with a carrot

I was about to ask. He says he's been doing "business" since a very young age, which implies his mother either died or he ran away from home (I'm assuming the later, although seeing it is not portrayed he shared any of his achievements with her I fear the worst).
