Returning to her roots didn't do much for her. She didn't find herself there as much as learn that she isn't a complete failure because she taught her parents how to not be as racist and to help Gideon. All that was was a little bit of validation after destroying Zootopia with her racism and giving up on it. You'd have a point if we see her find herself there, but instead all she finds is that everyday there's little things that we can do to make the world better, cop or not, and that some cultures call those plants "nighthowlers". Nah other animated cartoons had a lot of marketing here. Peanuts had those cute cups with figures on top and fantastic happy meal toys. Good Dinosaur had promos too. Not sure about IO, but I remember it had trailers playing and tons of merch. KFP3 had happy meal tie-ins, those sippy cups, big ass set in the cinema, donuts, etc.

Disney just didn't market this on its early release (SEAsia got it Feb). They only marketed a lot when it was a success, and for late releases like in Japan and China.
