nope it directly continued the series, it had some retcons (the changes to Kevin's origin from the alien backstory of UAF to his mutant origin like it was in the OS for example) but still most of the big events in the past series happened (for example in OV when Ben brags about past victories he mentions Dagon and Aggregor) and Ben kept using aliens from the 3 series before

Gonna agree with this guy. Omniverse had some problems, but it was mostly a step up from Ultimate Alien Force. Particularly the animation and fight choreography, which felt more fluid and dynamic.

Ultimate Alien Force also occasionally forgot what it was trying to do, like when suddenly exceedingly dark episodes like To Catch a Falling Star emerge.
