Why didn't they want their law firm to succeed?
>>
>>81498713
Karen did, but with Matt losing his ability to care about anything not Elektra or his mission, it was hard for her to keep steam going, and Foggy didn't want to continue Nelson and Murdock without Murdock. IT could have been Nelson and Page, but I doubt they could have gotten her through law school and taking the bar by the time they were kicked out of the office.
>>
>>81498713
Karen wanted the firm to succeed, Matt was too much of a bitch to care about his friends' careers
>>
Matt's superpower is ruining everything he touches. It's canon.
>>
>>81499085
He must ruin a lot of braille.
>>
>>81498713
ahh karen... i cant wait to season 5 when she is a meth addict and filming daps for legalporno. and selling matt to donofrio
>>
>>81498713

Karen wanted the firm to succeed, Foggy wanted to take time to build up a sustainable operation and solid reputation, but Matt tried to turn the firm into an extension of his vigilantism without considering the repercussions of doing so, and then dropped it entirely to fight ninjas with his psychotic college girlfriend.
>>
>>81502310
Matt's a dick.
>>
>>81502382

Absolutely. A well intentioned dick, but like they say, that's who builds the path to hell. Which, admittedly, is exactly where a devil would end up.
>>
>>81498713
>>81498910
>>81498988

This bothered me so much, Matt said he cared so much about his normal life and just let it go to shit over nothing. I was disappointed in him and the writers. If the firm closes it means we are going to get Karen and Foggy subplots next season even though they don't even interact with the main character on a daily basis anymore.

Someone needs to sit down everyone at Marvel, all the writers and say "would you stop shooting yourselves in the foot. Don't kill off all the villains where we can't bring them back, don't kill off all the teams/organizations so we can't use them anymore. Your writing yourselves into a corner."

If anything I thought the firm should of grown this session. I was hoping they'd get on their feet a little and they seemed to do that with putting Fisk away.
>>
>>81502382
More like his ex-girlfriend whom he never gotten over comes back and they have a ball beating up bad guys. Meanwhile Matt is constantly being pulled into the Hand - Chaste War.
>>
>>81502479
>>81502310
>>81502382
>>81502464

Oh and I forgot to mention how much this reeks of the typical real life situation where a woman comes in and diverts a dudes attention away from everything and he ends up losing his friends. It's like that plus ninjas.

Motherfucker didn't even try to explain to Karen when she walked in on him with her.

It's so weird, like out-of-character, like he had a complete, random change of heart... (a boner induced change) out of nowhere.
>>
>>81502479
Nobu might be down for good but Kingpin is still doing his own thing. Elektra is probably going to be S3's main villain, maybe Bullseye if they can pull him off. DD shows it's impossible to really run both a law firm & go out and be a vigilante. If it wasn't for Elektra's money, they wouldn't of stayed afloat like they had.
>>
>>81502583
She didn't want to hear an excuse. She saw her in the bed, turned around and left after breaking up with Matt. To be fair not much he could tell her, considering he never told her until the end that he was DD.

>Complaining about character driven stories being unconcerned with maintaining the status quo

I complain about Matt because he's a dick, but I don't complain about the writing because his dickish behavior is totally in line with his character.

Furthermore, I commend the writers for showing that, no, you can't juggle being a vigilante every night AND be the lead defender in the trial of the fucking century. Matt got cocky and tried to have it all, and it blew up in his damn face like it should have.
>>
>>81502733

Well when you put it that way. I just don't think it was presented that way though, like Matt hasn't realized or acknowledged he fucked up.Or maybe the ending part where he reveals to Karen was supposed to that. I hope that's what they're doing.

>>81502652

I thought when the DA got gunned down and Karen was getting attacked it WAS going to be Bullseye. I would of flipped.
>>
>>81498713
Karen wasn't being paid, so she's just off pursuing her own hobbies. I mean, sure, some of it is work but that seems to be more coincidence than her actually doing work for the sake of the firm. But again, she was barely being paid, so you can't really blame her.

Matt didn't give a fuck about the firm.

Foggy wanted to keep them going, but he knew his strengths and weaknesses and was banking on Matt to pull his weight.

Ultimately, you could blame it on Matt. He's the business partner who doesn't fulfill his part of the agreement/partnership, which drags everyone else down.
>>
>>81502733
I agree. Being a lawyer is a full time job. Matt's vigilante side hobby leaves him exhausted and distracted and way more on his mind than the cases. He only has time to fully invest into one, and I thought that was presented pretty clearly in the show.

Also Foggy joining Hogarth is a perfect set up for the Defenders. It was a necessary move to facilitate the shows tying together.
>>
>>81502479
Matt clearly didn't care about his normal life when he was off fighting ninjas during the punisher case. N&M's biggest case ever.
>>
>>81502583
I may need to watch the season again but didn't Elektra straight up tell him that if he said no, then she would fuck off and leave. He made the decision to hell so really this whole thing is on him because Matt had to play the hero.
>>
>>81502199
I genuinely hope they do this. I really would like to see karen act like karen should. And it would totally work since she has to eat up screentime this'd be a great meaty plotline for her to shit up the season with, and it'd actually be relevant for once.
>>
>>81498713
Season 2 Matt was absurdly negligent of his professional life.
Probably the one bad point of the season, they were developing it but it was just painful to watch happen.

Aside from being distracted by FRANK and shit, and having Stick's voice in his head encouraging him to fuck up his life for full-time Daredeviling, Elektra must have had some serious pussy game that immediately hypnotized Matt the moment she came back into his life.
>>
>>81503836

That Hogarth scene was one of my favorites though. It just made me giddy, because the entire JJ show I was wondering why the lawyer couldn't mentioned Murdoc or Foggy at all. I mean, sure it's NYC, thousands of lawyers etc but a little name drop would of been fun. I was disappointed, but this made up for it.

Anyways, that other lawyer woman is best girl to me though. That bitch is so fine. I love her and I love "I'm a bitch one second, but super sweet the next" routine.
>>
Everybody in S2 got screwed over trying to accomodate Matt, Electra dead, Claire fired, Foggy and Karen having to look for a new job etc.

Marci? Foggy's booty-call?

She is GOAT bitch. 10/10. I really want to see how Foggy managed to swing her.
>>
>>81498713
I'm gonna be honest with you anon, S2 just wasn't very good. Aside from Frank it was a bit of a mess.
>>
>>81505387
Elektra gets revived, Claire quit, Foggy moved up in the world and Karen fell ass-backwards into a job that actually pays. Matt's life sucks, but he seemed at peace with giving up on lawyering.
>>
>>81505043

That looked like a typical women manipulative shit-test to me.

>>81503888

I felt Foggy's frustration though. He's in a weird position. He knows what Matt's up to be but he can't very well tell anyone that and it's screwing him over.
>>
>>81505417

Yeah Marci. I realized this season that she was like the combination of these two girls, friends, who I had crushes on and got rejected by. Like looks and personality and all, like these two girls DBZ fused and formed Marci.

I realized Marci is my dream girl.

Matt's story-line this season was very frustrating. Like I wanted see Daredevil kick ass but seeing Matt destroy his life was more heartbreaking than Elektra's supposed death

If the point of the season was to make me hate Matt Murdock it succeeded. He's the worst thing about his own show lol.
>>
>>81502199
>>81502199
I'd watch the shit out of this
>>
>>81498713
Initially Matt wanted both his personal and vigilante life to work out. He still wants to but has realized it is an impossible task. He needs to beat the shit out of criminals more than being a lawyer
>>
>>81509760

Agreed. The final straw for me was in the final episode when he told Elektra he wanted to run away with her. Wow, so much for the guy who was willing to risk his life for the locals of Hells Kitchen. Then Elektra dies and he comes back crawling to Karen.
>>
>>81503836
>>81509945
He could do both, he just needs to dial back on the vigilantism a little bit, not make it an all night thing. Unfortunately he's in it for the sexual thrill instead of for responsibilities sake.
>>
>>81505181

Elektra is a terrible influence on him, like a drug addiction. He even said she nearly wound up getting him expelled from law school because she was such a distraction. She was worse this time around.
>>
How will Matt pay rent now? Does he get disability blind bucks?
>>
Hey stupid question

Black Sky. What the fuck is it? What does it MEAN?

And if Elektra's the Black Sky, who the fuck was the little kid last season on the boat?
>>
>where are you going?
>to the one place where drugs and corruption are as bad as your neighborhood... Chinatown.
What did he mean by this?
>>
>>81507389

>implying marvel would stay true to Frank's vision.
>>
>>81511596
Matt literally says that Daredevil is an integral part of him, that he doesn't feel alive without it. A central theme of the show is that Matt attempts to be a crusader for justice but he enjoys what he does far too much for it to be a mere responsibility.
>>
>>81505417
It's been established that Foggy is great in bed.
>>
>>81516247
Well that's pathetic. That's just an addiction.
>>
>>81511596
In the first episode he says something like, "If I take a night off, people get hurt." If all I could hear while laying in bed was people getting stabbed six blocks away, I'd probably neglect everything else in my life, too.
>>
>>81516340
That's how it's presented, yes. His first night as a vigilante made him sleep soundly for the first time. It's also a reason why he's filled with guilt all the time. Not to mention, the Murdock persona was a means for him to legally investigate and punish crimes that he couldn't as Daredevil.

It's not that Matt couldn't balance his double life, it's that he's dysfunctional enough to let it consume him. It's the logical conclusion of Foggy's confrontation last season: Matt has a martyr complex.
>>
>>81516792
Then I hope they follow through with it next season and show him living on the street like any addict that can't hold down a job.
>>
>>81502583
Elektra tried to divert it but ultimately Matt could have just told her no, in the end it's his own damn fault.

It's like Foggy said "Elektra isn't the problem, you are"

>>81505043
Yep although deep down Matt wanted to and she knew.

Granted after she got poisoned and shit she had a change of heart about playing with his life, she would also have left too if Stick hadn't sent that assassin, and before she died and they were trapped by ninjas and he told her he would ditch his life in Hell's Kitchen to be with her, she was surprised about it because she knew what that life meant to Matt.
>>
>>81503888
That is out of character. Not because of the size of the case, but because it involved someone who was on the edge, someone who he expressed pity for. He is not going to stroll in late sipping a latte.
