Anything from the golden age of Comics on Argentina.

The most well known classic is "El Eternauta", but "Sherlock Time", "Mort Cinder", anything by Oesterheld, really, is anybody's pick as well.

On another note the likes of "Boogie el Aceitoso", pic related, and many other comedies that I can barely remember the name of, but that I enjoyed deeply.

Also, anything by Divito.

He made several characters with simple quirks. Those are filled with simple fun jokes, and at best it could give you a bit of trouble with the slangs of the age.

For example, Bombolo took everything people told him literally and never doubted it. This one time he was told by his doctor that he should "Stop drinking", so he did and died of thirst.
On pic related we see an example of Divito.

He literally says he wants to read them to improve his skill in spanish, which wouldn't be possible if he read a translation
>>
>>81493351
Me no speak Spick, but, if what google translator shitted out is right and you're asking me if they made comics about El Santo, the answer is yes. Multiple series in fact, with the most recent one being about El Hijo del Santo called Santo: La Leyenda de Plata.

I assume you're American. Trump's gonna build that wall, Spanish won't matter in your country soon enough.

Learn Mandarin. Dark days with the chinks coming down the pike, it would be advantageous to learn their language.

I meant why not read translations of english comics to spanish?
>>
>>81494456
That actually kind of makes sense, but I believe he wants to read something that was 100% in spanish from the start

Spaniard here:

Spain > Argentina > Chile > Colombia.

That's it. The rest is not worthy.

After World War II a ton of Immigrant artist moved to Argentina and started the movement, it stopped when the Dictatorship took over. North America didn't want any more Socialist thoughts on their back yard, they had enough with Cuba, so they put a leash on free speech. A shit ton of national treasures, and I mean the artist, went missing for expressing their opinions.

Also, I think it would be a pointless discussion, you obviously would feel inclined to Spain's comics, but I would argue that I like Argentine ones better. It's a matter of opinions, of course.
What is truth is that Spain got a lot out of what was great on Argentina, the 60's were the best time there, and it was around the time everybody got out of here.

Look at Mortadelo, for example, you can probably tell this 1945 character from Divito, 13 years before Mortadelo and Filemon, is quite similar.

Fulmine wasn't anything like Mortadelo in personality, of course, he was just a person that brought disgrace to anybody unlucky enough to get near him, but you can tell Argentina's Golden years influenced Spain's golden years
