Rewatching it, I see why it could be disliked.

You haven't been paying attention then. One of /co/'s biggest problems with the movie is that the turtle's acted the same and made bad jokes. The movie tends to only get props here for following the comics.

That's another problem. If they were going to follow the comics, they would have had enough material to work with for 3 movies. If that was done, maybe wouldn't have got Super Shredder and japanese time travel.
