As far as i know this was just Hal going bad. He snapped went nuts and went bad.
But Geoff Johns was so nostalgic he couldn't have that so he made Parallax an evil entity rather than just the moniker hal jordan takes when he goes bad.

It was honestly a fucking cop out if you ask me. Geoff wanted his Hal Jordan toy to play with again so he had to make it all okay.

There's something about the art that I just adore over modern comics. Not just this comic, but many like it from the time. I dunno, maybe it's the colors, maybe it's the pencils, but it feels more "alive" and dynamic and interesting. Maybe it's just me

Dunno but he's wanted to draw Barry's return for years. Johns' Flash was Wally so it wasn't his idea. Thinking back on it, I think Didio said he saw the success of GL Rebirth and then asked Johns to do the same thing for Barry.

The 90s were such a jaded time for comics, I listed off all the characters that were siginficantly changed or killed in the 90s in a way that seemed for a darker or edgier to a friend of mine.

This is the book that made me start reading comics, i knew jackshit before this but the idea of an actual hero not being able to surpass his rage and giving in in the most horrid way was weirdly appeasing to me, followed the whole Zero Hour thing and loved every little bit of it, and then Kyle's run.

I know for old GL fans it must have been worse than a date with hitler, but i still love the shit out of this story and how human Hal seems in all this.
