What are some examples of shitty characters getting GOOD reboots that made them worthwhile?
The Shadow was always shit but Chaykin made him even shittier

How so?
>>81229032
>The Shadow was always shit
Elaborate or admit you are casual...
>>81229180
It's true though. If he wasn't shit he'd still be around today instead of his ripoff Batman. It's hard to make a compelling character out of 'fedora guns and cape'.
>>81229180
/co/ never liked that character, at least the people who even knew it
>he isn't around today
Sorry you missed this.
>>81229205
You still haven't answered the question.
>>81229321
Who vs the Shadow?
>implying Chaykin taking a dump on the whole concept of the character was good
>>81229361
>>81228849
Watchmen, technically, since it was based on Charlton comics characters.
>>81229405
The whole 'concept' of that character is boring, generic, outdated and shallow.
>>81229425
Literally who?
>>81229537
its not our fault you only read the most popular marvel and dc books
>>81229496
O'Neil's Question was better than Rorschach, though. And Giffen/DeMatteis Kord was better than Nite Owl.
>>81229602
Just because someone hasn't read about a specific character doesn't mean they only read Marvel/DC
>>81229337
Why don't you explain what's NOT shit about some 90 year old bottom of the barrel pulp vigilante?

This sounds more like roleplaying instead of a believable argument between people. Did you just start this stunt because someone posted a Chaykin interview in the Moore thread?
>>81229877
You made the accusation. Burden of proof is on you dude.
I would prefer if this thread was about pulp characters, like The Avenger, Shadow, Doc Savage, The Spider, etc.
actually, I might storytime The Shadow by Dc by Helfer and Sienkiewicz. Just reply with "do it faggot"
3 replies, and I start
>>81230865
Fuck off
>>81231462
That's a rude thing to say to someone who is almost like a step-father to you
>>81230865
Well, *I* like the Shadow.
Do it, faggot.
Shadow bump
>>81230825
I'd prefer if you went back to the nursing home old faggot
>>81231553
Oh is he your wife's son?
>>81229321
I really hope you don't think that makes the character relevant.
>>81229877
Well technically he's the cream of the crop of 90 year old pulp vigilantes, what with the hundreds of radio serials and comic books and Hollywood movie. Along with The Phantom and Doc Savage he's one of the few left who is anything close to still being a household name. Can't say the same about The Spider or Doctor Death.
