What was Lex trying to do here?

STEPPENWOLF LMAO

Jesus Christ why are they trying to stuff so much into this movie?
>>
>Release on Good Friday
>Title is "Communion"

FUCKING BRAVO SNYDER SUCH SUBTLETY
>>
>>81190950

Because Marvel is nearly a decade ahead of them in terms of cinematic universe building and they're desperately playing catch-up.
>>
>>81190950
Because they're late to the party and they want to kickstart entire universe with one movie.
>>

Did I just legit see Steppenwolf?

Da fuq?

Why is there always a little mucous coming out of Lex's nose

It was there in the prison scene too

Disgusting

It could be Steppenwolf but that doesn't look like a helmet, it looks like part of the skull/legit horns.
>>
>>81191053
Does this really need to be a gif?
>>
>>81190905

That did look like Steppenwolf. Not sure if I like the grey alien design of him. Hope the New Gods are more colorful. They ARE NOT just aliens.
>>
It's too bad the theatrical cut is edited so poorly cause there's a lot of cool stuff in it.
>>
>>81191120
They might just have redesigned him
>>
>>81191158
It's grey because it's made of the kryptonian nanotechnology, like when Jor-El showed Clark the history of Krypton.
>>
>>81191120
Seeing as this is Snyder I wouldn't be surprised if Darkseid and his minions all end up looking like biblical demons
>>
>>81191132
The head bobbing is a major component of RvB's charm
>>
>>81191175
>>81191198
True. There are a lot of similarities and the fact that it also shows what are presumably three Motherboxes and happens right before Lex is arrested (and mentions 'him' to Batman) makes it more likely that it's him.
>>
>>81191120
It looks like he's made from the Kryptonian metallic balls that form solid "holograms" as seen in MoS, so it's probably a space Skype call. And he seems to be showing Lex three boxes like the one that made Cyborg in the movie, that are probably Mother Boxes.
>>
If you listen closely, he calls him "Lex Luthor" at 0:05
>>
>>81191267
Holy shit you're right.
>>
>>81191267
Oh wow, I hadn't noticed that.
So this is presumably not just the ship teaching Lex but actual communication with Apokolips (presumably).

I think in a stroke of master symbolism, the beings of Apokolips are being set up to look truly demonic.

>>81191344
I bet all of the deleted scenes are actual crucial to this movie being good and Snyder removed them for more CGI esplosions. This would have made ding ding ding ding make more sense. What a dumbass.
>>
>>81190918
I just don't want it to be Darkseid.

>>81191342

>>

I would not be surprised if the New Gods have angelic imagery incorporated into their designs.

I also have a feeling at some point Darkseid's omega beam will look like he's firing pitchforks out of his eyes or something equally stupid

>>81191499
I wouldn't mind the whole "angel/demon" thing.
Snyder wants to be blunt, he can at least go full hog with it. Like an Angelic Orion who transforms into a demon when he gets out of control.

That would be awesome, honestly
>>
Could have been either Steppenwolf or Trigon.
>>
Makes sense how he knew about Darkseid at the end now.

Also how he figured out combining Zod and his blood would make doomsday

Why was this important plot point removed? I wonder if this is going to be like Blade Runner where the theatrical version was meh but after 10 director's cuts it'll be good.

There's no reason this 44 second clip should of been removed when Bruce floats like haysus for 10 minutes.

As soon as the ultimate edition was announced with like 30 mins of extra footage, I had no doubt it would be far superior to the theatrical just like Watchmen. I only watch the director's cut of Watchmen for the same reason. Shame Snyder always makes movies designed to be 3 hours + but studio forces to cut it down for theatrical

Fuck you. If they could cut anything, the Jonathan Kent daydream needs to go.
>>
>>81192065
Why would they overlap?
>>
>>81192027
The parts that suck still suck anon.
>>
>>81190950
They're playing a losing game of catch-up, like the other anons mentioned, and I honestly believe WB heads thought it would make fans go wild.
Which is sort of true, but it also makes the movie an incoherent mess.
>>
>>81192065

When you get out into a big enough cosmic scale, "magic" kind of describes everything. The Lantern Corps, the Speed Force, etc.
>>
>>81192060
Except one of the main complaints people have is that the movie has tons of unnecessary scenes setting up a sequel, and that's exactly what this one is.
>>
>>81192094

They cut my Jimmy, I'll cut their Perry.
>>
>>81191918

Yes it can.
>>
>>81192011
I meant in design. Highfather looks just like the representation of Yahve. Big beard, white long hair, wise. He even has the crooked staff which symbolises that he's a sheperd.
>>
>>81192109
But this explains Lex's breakdown at the end. Fans of the comics can contextualise that breakdown, but casual moviegoers would have been more forgiving of the prison sequence if they'd seen this 5 minutes earlier.

Also this would have looked badass on a cinema screen.
>>
>>81191344
Non-comic readers don't have time to follow a plot, they came here to see a cape-battle that plays into all of their expectations.
>>
>>81192104
>Speed Force
But both of those things are "scientific" at the cosmic scale, being derived from different parts of the universe. Magic like Constantine and Zatana deal with sorta disappears at the cosmic level.
>>
>>81192119
But Jimmy was not cut, he was shot...
>>
>>81191344

Even if it was included, plebs wouldn't get it.
>>
>perfectly framed, amazing visuals which look straight out of a high class painting
>no establishing shot and it just cuts to the soldier ziplining down
How the hell do you get the harder things correct and completely miss the basics
>>
>>81191709

What really irks me is that Kahn is stated to be even WORSE than Darkseid yet there's barely any material with him pre-nu52.
>>
>>81192109

I would argue that Batman and Luthor's character arcs both rely on how they transition from the mundane world to an understand of just how much shit is going on in the wider DCU. Whereas Batman is able to move past his own personal crusade and obsessions and start to see the other superheroes as potential allies instead of threats, Lex gets hit HARD by Anti-Life and instead is initiated into the even LARGER threats to his worldview than Superman and Batman.
>>
>>81192060
Ideally, we would find a balance between Superman, Batman, and Luthor. Having Amy Adams do her own thing was nice, but it takes time away from the 3 main perspectives needed.
>>
Maybe if they cut out all the boring politics out of this movie cut down holly hunter and scoot mcnairy's roles and instead added all the worldbuilding and character development scenes this would have been better.
>>
>>81191918
I mean, that's exactly what happened with Kingdom of Heaven.
The theatrical release was missing some VERY IMPORTANT KEY PLOT ELEMENTS, which executives deemed as unneeded.
The movie received a lukewarm response, citing plot issues.
Then the director's cut came out with everything in-tact, and critics drastically changed their tunes, some even calling it Ridley's best film.

Granted, the original release of KoH still wasn't mauled to death by critics, but it could happen to a smaller degree with BvS.
>>
>>81192130
Of all the casual moviegoers' problems with Lex, the dinging honestly hasn't even come up that often, and the fact that he refers mysteriously to someone coming and Batman also knows someone is coming should give them enough context to figure it out.

>>
This moment actually helps explain a character's mental state and actions towards the end of the film.

They cut this in favour of forced cameos that have nothing to do with the plot. Good job DC
>>
>>81192147

Sorry, what I meant is that the DCU fundamentally runs on narrative laws, which are subjective and human-centered. The farther you go out in scope, the more personal and intimate the themes and narratives become.

Magic in the DCU is also dependent on subjective mind-sets and is beholden to narrative laws and concepts.
>>
>Superman is treated like an absolute in the movie instead of a character
That's the entire point. Literally the opening monologue sets this up. He is the remaining diamond absolute from 1938 still relevant in our time. JL will be about recovering this diamond to save ourselves.

I think the Extended Edition would solve a lot of the film's problems, so its a shame that's not what's getting a wide release. As I said earlier, I actually love the movie as it is, but can see where people had problems. An extended cut isn't going to make it any more "fun", but it could address some of the story/editing issues.

Lex was great in this movie. I hated him at first but he just works. Cavill's Superman is awful though. It's like someone played a prank on Snyder and gave him Ultraman comics to read with Superman shopped into them and told him that Superman should have a permanent scowl on his face at all times. This Superman never smiles once and when he shows up, it feels like he's Thor. Instead of inspiring hope, it's fear.

That was the entire point, anon. The beginning bit with Bruce in Metropolis was supposed to be that universes version of 9/11. I don't care about Highfather.
But the rest of the New God pantheon shouldn't be watered down for the plebs, playing to insipid "christian" tropes.

We had that first Thor movie. People still remember Masters of the Universe. DCCU can do space gods.

Also
>Bearded man with a staff is the abrahamic image of god
Don't make me laugh. That's the image of a judeo-christian patriarch, which is what Highfather is.

Yeah.
To see the countdown you had to log-in with Mercy's credentials (shown during the movies credits, username 'mgraves' and password 'lexicon') and it would show (and it still does) a scan being performed on the kryptonian ship that would end in about 300,000 seconds (if I remember correctly), meaning, today.
>>
>>81192636
It's far too late for patience, DC made the mistake of making Batman standalone, which certainly made for better films probably, but it killed all possibility of franchise, as Nolan's Batman simply couldn't exist in a Superman world.
>>
Oh. So that's what the ding-ing at the prison and the "HE IS COMING" was all about.

>>
>>81192407
It shouldn't have even been a Special Edition. You add back those 30 minutes, and yes, it'll be 3 hours, but you have no competition for the 1st 3 weeks. People are willing to watch long movies as long as it's engaging. But then there are fewer daily viewings for theaters unless it takes up more screens.

Seriously, why? I can understand people saying his motivation is to tear down the idea of a benevolent god at any cost, but WHY!? Daddy hit him and he became a fedora atheist so that makes him want to destroy the fucking planet?

His father being a cruel god and making young Lex hate him makes young Lex want to bring more evil gods to Earth? The fuck kind of sense does that make?

Not really. Batman has been around for 20 years but everyone acts like he's a new? Flash using Dreamforce? Trying to introduce a weird big bad so early? It's shit.
>>
>>81192860
I think the actual close ups underwater, with Aquaman or whoever doing something, just looks too slow to look cool because it's water. CGI everything else looks great.
>>
>>81192888
Not a shill. Went in ready to be disappointed, came out very happy. Happy accident.
>>
>>81192883

I don't think he meant to call them intentionally. He was messing around with the Kryptonian ship logs and messed up. My theory is that Darkseid told him to kill Superman so that when he shows up Earth can be taken over easily, even tells him how to do it, with the kryptonite and what not.
>>
>>81192951
>Batman has been around for 20 years but everyone acts like he's a new?

Batman's not new. Him treating criminals so brutally and branding them is new. Before that point I got the sense that he was more discrete in his actions.
>>
>>81192273
>wanted to kill Superman to soften up the Earth for Darkseid invasion
But.... why?

This doesnt sound like something Lex would do. Thats some Loki shit. I thought Lex's entire point in this film was to be an epic anonymoos troll and make superheroes fight and kill each other for his own amusement to make them look like dicks and that humans are true supeeior peaceful race.

I think maybe Superman dying wasnt a part of his plan and his crazed reaction at the end was him realizing he fucked up big time since Darkseid would likely destroy the earth now
>>
>>81192883

From the looks of it, Lex has been in contact with Apokalips for a while now. Might explain his pseudo-insanity, and would tie back to the comics where Luthor spent a few months with Darkseid when he was younger (and where he got his classic powersuit from)
>>
>>81192990

>>81191407
Aagh I really wish that's just the case. I so desperately want this movie to pull a Kingdom of Heaven.
>>
>>81192998

No I think he was intentionally trying to kill Supes because he figured that Supes would either turn evil and help Darkseid take over the world, or wouldn't be strong enough to resist him and humanity would fall because they put all their hope and trust in him.

Remember his Problem of Evil speech.

Because of the enthusiastic tone he had during the ring scene. He also seemed to be working together with Darkseid in convincing Batman to fight Superman (Darkseid gave Batman the nightmares). Darkseid might have made him some promises for when he conquered Earth.

>She has no personality or importance in the film at all. She's a walking, talking commercial for the WW movie and nothing else. You could remove her easily.

Batman spends most of the movie obsessed with getting the Kryptonite to kill Superman. Wondy kind of helps to redirect him to realize that he could be using that access and those resources in other ways, and that there's way more to the universe than just his personal vendettas.

>Lets face it. This film is pretty much Snyders Bible adaptation.

Devout catholic with a degree in religious studies here.

Snyder's religious symbolism is not rooted in Biblical text so much as it is an interpretation of theological schools and modes of thought that developed later through the Medieval times. There's a lot of Kierkegaard and Augustine in the debates regarding Soteriology, human nature and the problem of evil (i.e. how we have a tendency to foist human perspective and assumptions onto our knowledge of God)

I have no doubt there are more ancient subtexts at work. The nature of men and power goes far beyond the Bible. Yet still the film also has a lot of striking similarities specifically to the book of John during Christs defense (the trial of superman) and his death/sacrifice.

I dont remember which book specifically but I feel like Jesus traveled to a mountaintop to speak to his father on several occasions (like how Clark did in the film)

The trial of Jesus before Pilate and the Sanhedrin are in all four gospels.

That's a recurring theme throughout the whole Bible. When people want a solitary experience with God. Moses, Abraham and Issac, Elijah all have notable "mountaintop" experiences, but the New Testament, you're probably thinking of the Transfiguration, which doesn't track well to that same scene.

>Oh cool, maybe Superman will land right in front of him and take the hit or do something

Something that simple would show how Superman has come into his own over the years , could be used effectively in the "HURR HE SHOT THOSE WARLORDS AND PURPOSEFULLY RAINED HELL UPON MUH POOR AFRICAN TRIBE" case and could also establish a friendship with "Jimmy but not Jimmy" afterwards.

I still think Lex thought that killing Superman would be the best way to prepare the Earth for his arrival.

Because remember, Superman cannot be perfectly good (which means he can be corrupted and turned by Anti-Life) and/or all-powerful (which means that he will be defeated by Darkseid if he tries to resist).

Either way, his best option would be to kill Supes to better the chances of humanity surviving.

Talking about when The Pharisees is making him give a testimony on his actions. Christ says stuff along the lines of "i am not from this world, you dont know where i am from or where I am going and such you cannot judge me by human standards." He also continues to say (again in paraphrase) "I do not glorify myself because my glory would mean nothing. I only seek gratification from my father"

This works even for the mountaintop scene. Supermans motivations in these films are ENTIRELY built off of the advice from his fathers just like Christ. They are the ones who sent him, told him what he should do. He doesnt seek glorification from himself or society, he is only trying to be the best possible exention of his fathers philosophies.

Also about his heroic motivations Christ also says in John that the he is the light and those who follow him will never live in darkness. Also that he is a vine for which many fruits will grow so long as the people let the vine grow in them.

He isnt asking people to believe in him or his actions, (superman) he just says he has the power to save them so long as they continue to believe and dont turn against him.

What are your thoughts on that? I think the Christ allegory (as far as imagery goes) in these two films have been hamfisted at best but at least the subtext is strong
>>
>>81194511

He's just pissy that everyone gives him shit for acting without authority when there's a long-time vigilante running around Gotham without that same level of scrutiny.

I think those connections have been around for a long time before Snyder made them.

And also you're mistaking how the Father-Son connection actually works. There are some aspects of divine knowledge that ONLY the Father is privy too, but Jesus damn sure knows what his mission is on Earth by virtue of his codivinity with the Father and what must eventually happen to him. Supes does not have that knowledge of the future and is going about it as a regular person would, no divine knowledge, just based on what his own interpretation of what another flawed human would want for him.
>>

>>81194594

Just because it's a spear doesn't mean that it's supposed to be the Lance that pierced Christ's side. That's not the role it plays in the story at all.

In fact I'm sick of people mistaking the actual symbolism behind that spear. It's not some mythical god-killing weapon, Jesus was already dead when it was used. Instead it was a TEST of his divinity, as John points out, it was specifically foretold to happen by Isaiah, and the water and blood that flows forth from the wound it creates is symbolic of Jesus' shared divine and human natures.

The movie really needed another cut.

>Scenes go on too long (Little Bruce in the woods, Jimmy getting shot, Superman gently putting a woman down, woman crying at the sight of Superman, Senator shitting her pants over the jar of piss, etc). The ending was RotK levels of fatigue.

>Scoot McNairy was completely superfluous to the narrative

>The data files back-and-forth served no purpose.

>Wonder Woman in on itself really served no purpose.

>Irrelevant nightmare sequences

>Repetitive dialogue (how many times Alfred joke Bruce was a mess and not giving him grandkids?)

>Awkward breaks (Fucking interrupt the Batman V Superman fight for JL trailers), another "Bruce is brooding scene" in between Perry noting Clark went to Kansas and Clark actually in Kansas.

The editing in this movie really ruined what could have been a great film. I am a hardcore Superman fan and I could barely follow some of the plot points they were going for.

The beginning was too slow due to setting up Batman in a movie that is not his, it would have been miles better if DC had more patience with world building. Superman dying felt forced, I think Snyder realized that his version of the character was too unlikable for the world and thus Martyred him as a soft reboot for the characterization. Lex would have been great if it turned out his brain was jumbled because of the Anti-life equation, but obviously he was Autistic before discovering it.

But is he? Even though its not explicitly shown i think there is an aspect of divinity with this Superman because he is able to have these spiritual talks with his father and how his final moment of sacrifice seems to imply this may have always been a foregone conclusion or what he was meant to do. Its the subtlty of Cavills performance during that moment that led me to believe this. Because I mean when you think about it Wonder Woman couldve just stuck doomsday with the kryptonite spear. Superman seemed to be on a divine path at that moment

When people think of David using a "sling" they imagine a slingshot, but an actual sling hurls a metal ball with killing force. Think a professional baseball pitcher lobbing a cannonball at your head.

Likewise, Goliath was probably just someone with hyperthyroidism, which would have made him exceptionally tall, but frail.

David's dismemberment of Goliath is actually linked with historical records about soldiers taking trophies of defeated foes.

David killing Goliath is one of the pseudo-historical texts from the bible.

The thought is that what Bruce sees is actually bleed through memories from alternate timelines. So it's possible that what was shown (Flash visit, Superman turning bad, Darkseid taking over), happened at one point, but was caused and/or stopped because of the Flash messing with time lines.
>>
>>81194937
A.He's infected with anti-life thus became a balls to the wall herald for Darkseid

B.Snyder is a hack and his Lex is shit, and nothing at all like the powerful minded one in the comics.

NEWSFLASH: Casual audiences don't know and therefore don't care. You need to balance the actual worldbuilding with the fan service to engrosse them. WB fumbled it in that regard. They just threw shit at the screen and asked people to be hyped for it, and they weren't. The casuals in my audience didn't respond at all to the Knightmare or the Flash. The only things that worked were Wonder Woman and the Justice League teases.

So why does anyone have any faith in the 3 hour cut redeeming the film? Unless Snyder reorganizes lots of the scenes in the film it's still flawed.
>>
How great would it have been if instead of Lex just shouting DING DING DING DING DING while he was in jail he recited the anti-life equation

>Unless Snyder reorganizes lots of the scenes in the film it's still flawed.

It's relatively easy to do just that. Don't need to shoot any new footage, just reorganize and re-cut what they already have.

>>81198185

That would've confused people even more.

>>
>>81198256
What's the chance of him going to that effort though and not just stuffing the extra thirty minutes into the film?

The movie is full of really weird edits. The scene of Batman visiting Lex in prison should have been before the funeral scene and instead it's in-between and gives this jarring moment.

Eh, you never know. Personally I enjoyed the movie even as it was released, so I'm not hanging all my hopes on it.

At the very least if they do release a bunch of extra cut footage or a director's cut, it'd be cool to see what kind of fan edits would turn up out of it.
>>
I wouldn't mind this Lex so much if it turns out he was affected by Ant-Life. It would explain why he's so psychotic and why he's trying to destroy Superman. Darkseid was just using him to get rid of the biggest threat to him on Earth.

Fuck me, he was pretty desperate for another way to kill Superman already, and then he finds Apokalips, and decides to create an unstoppable, unkillable monster.

The knowledge of Darkseid and Anti-Life only feeds into that, Lex was pretty fucking broken at that point regardless.

It could have happened any time during the fight as well.

And of course, before that point he was trying to get Bruce to pretty much be on his side. Then when Bruce acts against him, he wants to get rid of him as well. Thus Doomsday, a contingency.

>>
>>81191932
Because it really wasn't necessary, the movie did not suffer by not having that scene in it.

>>81199550

>>81199567

>What this movie really needed was a better sense of context for the dream sequences and more continuity between scenes.
Hit the nail on the head, anon.
>>
>>81199733

What Batman witnessed was not a world ruled by Superman, but a world ruled by DARKSEID that was in part enforced by Superman.

Presumably the circumstances under which Lois gets killed contribute to him falling into despair and he winds up giving into Darkseid.
>>
>>81199723
>I don't see Superman as a dick, just frustratingly aimless and passive
What about when he out of fucking nowhere crashes the Batmobile, wags his dick in Bats' face, then flies away. Like, what the fuck was that about? Try having a fucking conversation Clark. Why did he jump immediately to threats and intimidation?
>>
>>81199753

This movie was in desperate need of establishing shots.
>>
>>81199567
>You know what, most people dislike the movie because it doesn't fit with their idea of what these characters are.
That's not the problem. The problem is that the characters don't even fit the idea of that *the movie itself* thinks they are.

The movie tries to say Batman is a cynical paranoid asshole that's acting on bad information, but it shows that his concerns are legitimate and that there are enough consequences to Superman's actions that the alien does need a counter..

It says that Superman is Jesus, but forgets that Jesus is said to be a man of the people that connects with them on a person to person level, and not a cold detached demigod.
>>
>>81199833
Would that actually have made transition between scenes feel more natural?
Tell me if it would have, I know fuck all about films
>>
>>81199833
Or just slowing the fuck down, and just do a better job of developing the plot lines. It felt way too apparent that the first hour of this movie was basically just a checklist to set things up for later. It's like whoever was in charge knew they weren't interesting so they sped through them as fast as they could.
>>
>>81199974

Yes, establishing shots "establish" where a scene takes place in terms of setting or chronology. It deliberately shows transition between scenes.
>>
>>81199874
Thought of a third example. It says that Lex is a brilliant manipulator, but Lex can't even convince a senator that by all indication agrees with his central premise, so he needs to kill her instead.
>>
>>81200010
well, I figured that much. hard to believe that something so small would help contribute to a film's quality
>>
>>81200035
>that by all indication agrees with his central premise

Lex sees Superman as an obstacle that needs to be eliminated.

The Senator just wants to see him held accountable for his actions. That means hearings, maybe legal action, and government sanctions, but what she objects to with Luthor's plan is outright assassination.
>>
>>81200035
Yet he played Bruce like a fidel
>>
>>81200179
Bruce acts nothing like Fidel Castro, what are you on about
>>
>>81200179

As Lex says, Bruce was already stewing in his own rage for a year and a half, all he did was nudge him in the right direction and feed it.
>>
>>81200069

Not him but it can. One of the complaints one of the people I went to see it with had was that it was jumping around from reality to dream sequences to Gotham to Lex then back to dreams. There was no sense of purpose in the direction, I'd have to watch it again to be more specific but I really just don't want to. At times I caught myself thinking, "When is this thing going to end?" cause it got really exhausting around the hour mark trying to piece together all the scenes.

>have to play catch-up
>have some of the most iconic characters on planet earth
>one movie to kick start everything
>it's a mess of cameos, origin stories and introductions

Wasn't the whole point of this approach to just skip all of that and just do a proper movie without hasseling too much with introduction and set-up initially?

I mean everyone knows Supes and Bats and most people would probably pretend to know who Wondy is. So people are hooked regardless and know enough to not be entirely fucking lost. Especially if the main villain is Luthor or someone as recognizable.
Just make a movie with fully established Justice League saving the planet and kicking ass and if anyone cares about one of the characters on the team, then there's a movie coming up for him that tells him their origin.
Basically just one giant piece of in-medias-res for the franchise.

I mean, this was always the idea, right? Justice League is still next.
So why does Dawn of Justice exist? It's like a shitty teaser trailer. A teaser trailer that tries to spoil the movie.
>>
>>81200220
I was definitely feeling exhausted watching the film. It was a really strange feeling, actually. I could tell from about midway through this film had problems with editing/pacing, but thought it would fix itself up soon enough. It didn't. And that giant bat nightmare adds nothing to the film. At least the Knightmare could be said to help contribute to Bruce's paranoia

That's why I said central premise. They agree that Superman is a potential danger and that he needs to be brought to heel, but Lex can't svengali his way from there to "he's a threat that needs taking out" even though he's already got a head start and is supposedly a master manipulator.

Did the ship mention Apokalips at all? I don't remember that. I might've totally missed it amongst everything else.
>>
>>81201282

No it didn't, but the archive says it has knowledge of a hundred thousand worlds, and Lex is DEFINITELY talking about Darkseid in the last scene he's in, so it's not too hard to assume that he found out about Apokalips through it.
>>
>>81201375
But Apokalips isn't just another world. It is another plane of being. Unless the new gods are just aliens.
>>
>>81201375
In hindsight yes, his last scene is obvious Darkseid jibber-jabber, but there was no prompting beforehand that Lex had contact or knowledge of him. Just an assumption that he would've gone through the archives and read about Apokalips isn't enough, you need a scene like this to show some form of contact.

Like, Bruce getting scared and prepared for Darkseid makes sense because we saw all the Knightmare sequences, showing the audience that Bruce knew something was up. There was nothing to tell us Lex knew something was up, or that Apokalips had anything to do with any of his motivation.
>>
>>81190905
That was pretty fuckin spooky.
>>
Anyone else think that this might mean Krypton knew of and possibly encountered Apokolips in the past?

Krypton encountering Darkseid would be a damn good explanation as to why Krypton become so isolationist and instituted a massive population control problem.
>>
>>81190905
Why the fuck did Luthor stay in the ship?
He should have gotten the fuck out of there so that he could have some kind of plausible deniability.
Then again, this Luthor was terrible at covering his tracks, it's a wonder they didn't throw him in prison after the Capitol blew up.
>>
>>81202269

>>
>>81202269

>>
>>81202317
Yeah, but he should have left to avoid being accused of creating Doomsday, destroying any evidence lying around while he's at it.
Luthor's plan inevitably ended with him in prion, comics Luthor would have at least done something to try to avoid getting caught.
>>
>>81202106
It's a legit possibility.

The Krypton outposts may have come in contact with Apokolips and Krypton cut all contact and forbade space travel in response. Hoping to stay under the radar and not draw attention to themselves.
