What is this show?

It's got a fairly consistent tone that doesn't fit neatly into existing genres.

I'd call it magical slice-of-life.

It's in its own genre, the faggy action show. It's an action show but with musical numbers and melodrama and slice-of-life elements and "cutesy" shit.

Tbqh adventure time took a serious dip in quality and consistency after Sugar left.

I love the developement the characters did in my mind.
After a few episodes, I got what the characters were "about", but as it continued, I realized there was much more to "get", and actual backgrounds instead of just stereotypes.
Far too often, stories establish strong characters and then don't do anything with them, or make the backstory so contrived that it doesn't become a coherent narrative.
SU works both as strong first impression, as well as depth behind it, which I really appreciate.

Well, actually Steven Universe is like a comedy-drama about the differences in the modern culture. Have a artistic an melodic degree, really important to make more comfortable the message. Is not about feminism (the gems doesnt have one) or homosexuality. It is about the heroes come in all sizes and forms, and them can be anyone.
