Serious question, do people actually like this show?
Yes. Why do we need three threads a day about it?
>>81142645
Yes.
Love it.
>>81142645
it's one of my favorite shows, what's not to like about it?
Yes, it's probably my favorite show.
The humor comes off as very dry I guess, I don't recall any episode that had me laughing hard, but It got some chuckles out of me and I liked all the characters enough to keep watching.
Either you get it or you don't. Both of which are acceptable
>>81142863
This is the first thread Ive seen about it in weeks.
>>81142645
Its very funny but the humor is pretty dry outside Coach McGuirk. I enjoyed it a lot as teen when it first came out and rewatching it I like it even more
>>81142645
Aw, HELL NO!
yes i love it
so does a lot of co
its charmingly ugly, has stellar voice talent from jonathan katz, h jon benjamin, brendon small, melissa galsky, sam seder, and even loren bouchard himself, the visionary creator (along with small, also a creative powerhouse)
ok maybe visionary is a bit much but hes a funny guy with funny ideas
so is brandon small all his songs are hiiiiilarious
pic related
also yknow home movies basically pioneered retroscripting and squigglevision
even if nobody uses the latter the former has had a significant impact on cartoons since
(i might be wrong about tom snyder pioneering retroscripting but he has the copyright which is clear to see in the credits)
so to sum it up:
great VAs
funny songs
unique style and production
mr pants

ratings cancer, terrible animation, mumbling dialogue, plots that go nowhere, essentially like a boring kids show half the time
>>81144119
>inb4 dr katz did squigglevision first
retroscripting is the important innovation i wanted to highlight, considering HM started using flash in s2
>>81144199
Dr. Katz did retroscripting first, but that was mainly just standup comics coming in and doing stuff, whereas HM tried to incorporate that into building actually plots through improv and LOTS of editing after the fact.
>>81143798
It's the second thread I've seen about this today.
>>81142645
It's magnificently low-key. It really worked for its time.
It's perfect
>>81144264
im glad you understand the difference
in dr katz they were really just recycling stand up, a lot of it rejected stuff if i recall right
i do love dr katz pt to death for for different reasons
Lots of people like it. I'm not one, but you'd have to be pretty stupid to not see that some do.
Fucking hate this show....so damn boring and dry...Sitting through an episode feels like a homework assignment.
one more thing to like, check out the guest VA's they had
Louis CK, Mitch Hedberg, Emo Philips, Patton Oswald, Eugene Mirman
Fuck adult swim for trying to make this a lead in for toonami
it fucking tanked the ratings
i hope it never airs again
Show was terrible when I was a kid, didn't get any of the jokes.
I'm an adult now and I will try to watch it again.
>>81144871
Also: John Linnell and John Flansburgh from TMBG
>>81144176
It's mostly improvised, which makes it seem a bit "sloppy" compared to most shows, but that's what makes it good.
complete shit tbqh
Coach McGuirk is the GOAT character.
>>81143798
This is the fifth I've seen this fucking week.
>>81144974
Jesus Christ, did the show rape your mother?
>>81144974
It actually won't, it's banned from airing on AS ever again for getting such low ratings
