That's what I thought about Damian. I literally, actually started to read comics to see the clusterfuck myself, because no way that would work.

But, here I am, several comics later and Damian is one of my favorite characters.

So instead of just going along with the Billy/Damian team up they already had going they decided to bring this fuck in instead.

I still loathe the concept of Damian in general. Batman doesn't need a biological son, he has sons already. Not to mention that he was the product of rape is never addressed. Mostly I felt like he was Jason Todd 2.0, but fortunately Tomasi came along and made him worthwhile.

I don't like Damian as the "ultimate Robin"/golden child, but I have to admit he's grown on me in execution.

That Superboy is the product of Post-Crisis Supes and Post-Crisis Lois, right? I'll let it slide, since the other Superboy in the new continuity is shit.

I liked Damian Wayne from the start and love the idea of changing things up and having characters actually grow. Id love to age folks up so we have Hal and Clark with the gray wingtips and the younger folks stepping up to the plate in their own right.

And hey years down the road they can reboot it again.

Though I imagine most people prefer the stuff to be more like when they first got into comics and no further.
