I don't give a fuck about Snyder but It's Ben okay? His eyes looks redish like he's been criying.

I feel bad for Zack, he's clearly not a good director but he nails it at Aesthetics and Visuals. At least they know the fans are loving it.

Hoe about Cavill? I feel he could do well under a different director since people keep saying good things about Man from UNCLE.

I think Ben may have sacrificed his marriage for this role.

Method acting of Batman/Bruce Wayne allows no room for love... only pain and lots of brooding.

fuck zac, he got more chances that he deserves. he didn't deserve to reboot superman and he didn't deserve to kickstart the dc universe.

why can't dc just abandon ship on these "visionary director" careers?

Even Urobutcher has levity in his works sprinkled here and there.

Hell, dude wrote a season of Kamen Rider.
>>
>>81068317
>He also got praised for his acting on Daredevil

Daredevil is a C-lister who didn't need a sequel, especially in the time before shared movie universes. Batman is the biggest A-lister and WB has no reason to recast him.

I only feel sorry for Amy Adams. She looks so sad. ;_;
>>
>>81066803
It's nice to see some reactions out of people that aren't so heavily practiced I guess.

Interesting that they're all using different strategies to deal with the news; Cavill and Gadot are trying to be upbeat about it with their body language - couple of missed careers in PR there - Adams is angry but doesn't really seem surprised or like she's trying to conceal anything, so I'd guess she's really just angry about having to promote this pos; Snyder's pretty resigned about it but seems willing to shoulder the blame - which is probably more to do with life as a director than the big fat paychecks he's had from these movies; Affleck looks like he's had a handful of valium, but he's looked like that as far as I can tell for months or even years. You can see it's affecting him but it's like he got called in to HR to hear about something he considers trivial in the long run.

With the sound down, of course. I don't really want to listen to these people talk about why their movie failed any more than I want to hear about their day.

Bale was an ok Batman, but a good Bruce Wayne. Fucking so many Nolan fags, when it was mostly the supporting actors who made the movie like Ledger and Michael Caine.

Saddness over what? You really think he cares? He's got his paycheck, WB is moving on with the whole shitshow regardless and there will be a Batman movie that he's probably going to direct.

Ben is gonna make millions, tour the world and fuck some whores on all continents while you feel sorry for him.
>>
If WB had any sense at all, they'd have fired Goyer and Snyder ages ago, and replaced them both with the comic-book nerd who WON OSCARS FOR WRITING AND DIRECTING UNIVERSALLY ACCLAIMED FILMS.

The level of total corporate incompetence on display is absolutely staggering. And now, because of those nepotistic monkeys, we're never going to get the Lovecraft-flavoured deep-sea Aquaman movie James Wan wanted to make.

Maybe they could reshoot SS and WW to not be in the Snyderverse. Probably not a problem for WW since it's mostly set in the past but Batfleck himself is in SS.

How to establish it's a different universe without removing him then? Maybe add a line that he's never killed so Waller's not going after him, that kind of shit.

I could never get into Bale, even as Bruce, he at most seemed vaguely neurotic, squirelly and sad to me. I'm not even saying he was bad, but idk he never sold it to me. I thought Batfleck's washed-out, slightly grody version was great.
But I can't argue with Conroy having best Batman voice at all.

I liked Dawn of the Dead remake, Watchmen and 300. I thought Man of Steel wasn't very good but not as bad as people said. Didn't see the owl movie he did, Sucker Punch I think failed at what it tried to do, but it had more depth than people say.

I genuinely liked BvS and for me it is his best film that I've seen. Pretty puzzling how much hate it is getting. I mean rationally I shouldn't be feeling that bad for the guy, he's a millionaire movie director but...idk, it's painful to see him like this. He seems so enthusiastic and a genuine lover of the comics.

It's not dead, they have one movie in post production, one movie filming and another about to start filming

that said, if suicide squad doesn't come in hot(it has a lot more positivety around it and is more casual friendly) i can see them completely reshuffling everything past their 2017 releases and probably pushing back justice league to follow the marvel route of releasing solo movies that lead into the team movie

there's just too much money left on the table not exploiting dc ips, all WB has after this harry potter and strange beasts has no traction at all so if they don't reboot that shit all they have is DC

Wonder Woman's in the can. There's no way they're making Gadot do the publicity tour for this and film either side of it, though I guess now there will be reshoots.

They can't reboot HP without permission; DC ips, while undoubtedly valuable, are far from "all" Warner Bros. has, they just happen to be technically hot right now because of what Marvel is doing. Marvel is a single-genre studio - Warner Bros. is vast.

Jupiter Ascending was a misfire but that's clearly the way to go from here on out - do their own thing with original properties, even just adapt something that isn't comic books. Look at HP, like you said - huge. Same with the Hobbit. They can make money, they just need to not be hamstrung by formulas. Christ, if there was a magic formula to make you rich we'd all be doing it.

>>81070050
Ehh.. you should feel bad for Adams, if anyone, because she's at a point in her life where the only other thing anybody is going to offer is mother roles, but that's how it works in Hollywood for women. It's terrible, but for the guys - they've got until they're fuckin 50 to make it work. Gadot's not even in the 3-0 danger zone yet, is she?

Hopefully they all got their seven figure paychecks like they should have for headlining and being major supporting actors and love interests in a movie that literally cost so much it's not even funny, so they were smart and put some away and they'll have plenty to live on. Feel bad for Adams, though. Nobody's ever going to write a hundred million dollar movie for her to headline and they probably never were. It's a shame.

I didn't dislike Zack Snyder personally until reading about how he's this huge Ayn Rand fanboy who identifies with her characters and has grand plans to make a Fountainhead movie. And how much he identifies with her misunderstood genius Great Man character.

The reason is that although I think there ARE unusually gifted, talented people in the world in seems for some reason like many gung-ho Objectivists are aggressively mediocre, like Snyder, yet believe they are Great People, touched by genius, like Jesus on the cross misunderstood by the moronic masses. All the time with this shit.

Just saw it.

Something really dumb near the end. So Supes has the kryptonite spear and is jamming it into Doomsday. It's basically just a chunk of sharp kryptonite on a stick. So he stabs him with it, then Doomsday stabs him with his armbone. Then Supes uses the last of his strength to push the spear out Doomsday's back. Which seems counterproductive since the kryptonite would have been doing more damage wedged right into his center mass.

Also I saw the name "Peggy Hill" in the credits.

Favreau is a Disney guy now. He might have been mad at Marvel after Iron Man 2, but he's kissed and made up with them.

Brett Ratner's and McG films are very hit and miss but the big thing is they don't have a string of high million/billion dollar films that crash and burn after opening week. X-men Last Stand held together at the box office than MoS and that was still the infant days of cape films.

There was almost a 9 year gap between Bat-man and Robin and Bat-man begins.

At this moment, unless WB gaming somehow pulls another Arkham game out of their asses, the only place your getting Batman outside of the comics is in the movies.
>>
>>81077965
They can't afford not to make movies. They also can't afford to make expensive movies that underperform. If that means no Batman, then you get no Batman.

When they weren't sure Superman Lives was the way to go, they sat on Superman for another what, six years? And another three after Superman Returns, trying to figure out what to do, before anything happened.

They're a big studio with plenty of other things to get on with instead. So they miss out on the superhero craze - so what? Maybe it's not a craze. Maybe it's just Marvel.

i'm confused at the endgame DC people want here?

-first week results will be guaranteed high no matter what (from preticket sales and first rush viewers)
there are 2 option going to happen after
1-Bad Press will tank the second or third week
its end gross will be lower than studio expectations, studio will review and reshuffle current DCEU plan.

2-Bad Press will cause people to flock to see it mitigating the same loss as if it was a good movie, studio makes dosh. No changes are made. All DCEU snyder made movie will be of the same quality. Status Quo.

are DC people really gunning for option 2, cause i mean currently they have a get out of jail card to probably fix and improve mistakes that were made.

Anyone who had hope for Batman v Superman was a fool. Snyder has at most 2 good movies depending on who you ask and Man of Steel wasn't one of them. James Wan however has a spotty career but recently he's hit his stride with The Conjuring, a pretty great horror movie, and Furious 7 which was better than anyone expected. Both of these being better than anything Snyder has made. Jason Mamoa has exactly one good role admittedly but it's a pretty great one and I got faith in him. The only thing that makes me doubt this movie is the failure of Batman v Superman.

All flash no substances

>>
>>81080032
Anon, who do you think goes to see a movie like this as soon as possible? Didn't even wait for the weekend, did you?

What kind of people do you think would be there? How likely is it, do you think, that they would have loved pretty much any new Batman or Superman movie released this week?

The problem here is that you've assumed you're an impartial judge of quality. But you're not. You went to see this as a fan, not as a critic, whose job is to warn non-fans about bad movies they haven't seen, and not as a casual, who likes Batman and Superman and is kind of interested. You're a fanboy.

Own it. Love it. Wear it with pride like a beautiful rainbow of tolerance. It's what you are. Don't deny it. Accept it. Accept what it means. Accept that it means you will sit through things other people don't like at all.

It's fine. Really. There will always be people like you. You can be fanboys together. You're not alone. You just like different things to normal people.

Marvel Studios used to have the Marvel Creative Comittee with Bendis, Alonso, Quesada, and others and that went away when Feige made it so he didn’t have to answer to Perlmutter.

Still the committee wasn't exactly something positive, they gave James Gunn trouble while he was writing GotG, specifically the Thanos scene and he mentions this in one of his Q&As, IIRC he said a group of people had different opinions on how he should write the scenes witn Thanos causing him to do multiple rewrites and then he went on to say "But they're not there anymore" before he moved on to the next question, this was shortly after the MCC got disbanded so it was obvious who he was talking about.
>>

>Didn't even wait for the weekend, did you?
Yes i did. I was hyped, and it lived up. I wanted a Snyder-style gothic-like epic BvS tale and i got exactly that, i liked the action and not really that much against Batman killing people, giving the circumstances he is in. Plus some imagery straight from BTAS gave me fanboner. The ending with "look around you" was great and inspiring, a reminder that you dont need to make something tongue-in-cheek MUH FUUUN to be lighthearted, and i even think that WW score was great, though it seems not many anons share that opinion. I am definitely going to see it again.

Most of the negative reviews contain insults and zingers aimed at Zack Snyder himself. Pretty much the whole cast did well (IMO, I just finished watching it). Batfleck is the stand out, but all of them did well - with the material they were given. They've done the best with what they had. The only exception is Eisenberg, who I think was a poor cast.

In my mind, the actors are not at fault at all for this. You could have loaded this with the best actors there are, and it would have still been just as bad, because the problem lies in overcrowding, bad directing and bad writing. The bad performances are caused by this.

By pulling the focus away from Batman and Superman. If they threw out all the extra characters and allowed the focus of the story to breathe the screenplay would have been tighter and the film I believe would have come out at least as 'pretty good.'

As it stands the plot and script is a mess and the editing was a nightmare.

Gal was never going to have a career outside of making subliminally gay action movies seem slightly less gay.

Eisenberg will be playing this same character until he's in his 50's regardless.

Affleck should have stuck with his directing, he seems to have temporarily forgotten he's a rather dull and uninspiring actor.

Cavill's main talent has always been appearing attractive in movies, he's the male equivalent of Megan Fox.

Snyder should stick to trailers and movies that are already completely written and storyboarded out for him.

As always, whether something is good or not is not determined by the fact that a random person such as yourself found it enjoyable. It is determined by critical consensus, which is in turn based on established standards as to what makes a film good. Things like pacing, editing, cinematography, sound design, characters, plot, etc.

According to these common standards, BvS is subpar in almost every regard. That obviously won't stop you from enjoying it, if you do, but your bafflement at why others dislike the film, is itself baffling.
