I'm reminded of a what if story where Flash was bitten instead of Peter.

He made himself an anti-Spider-Man suit that also came with mechanical spider legs and beat the shit out of Flash, who had turned to a life of crime.

Reed Richards was able to remove the radiation juce or whatever from Flashes system because it hadnt fully become part of his DNA, and porned it out in front of Peter who wanted it so he coule be a hero (this is his face when he did it).

In short Peter just became a gadget hero like Blue Beetle but with a public identity

I think you could say that about almost any physically powered hero if they lost there powers. Maybe not magical, MAYBE. But They all spend there time engaging in repeated strenuous activity that's sure to have most of them in pretty good shape. What you may not have considered is the long term effects of all the injuries they've sustained over the years without their abilities suppressing the pain or repairing the damage. So they might come out of it pretty fucked up all in all but with really great bodies.

when she first showed up she didn't have any powers, she just rigged thins so it would seem like she had bad luck powers.

When she started dating Spider-Man she went out on a few patrols with him, and while she could keep up physically, she couldn't dodge like he could and they weren't on the same wavelength. She got injured and Peter overreacted. She went out and begged some powers. Finally found someone (turned out to be Kingpin) willing to give her some.

Part of the prep work involved lots of exercise, but they even specifically say this was just a few days. and a few days of lifting isn't gonna push you to peak human. and she only got Bad Luck powers out of it, no physical enhancements

It's a shame if it was forgotten because it was a great concept. It was like the next step for Spider-Man, to really master his powers. A fight style that syngerizes so well with his abilities that it is near impossible to beat, rather than his original fight style of being just all over the place and hard to hit thanks to his spidey senses, which I'll admit was pretty decent itself.

I get what you mean. I guess you wouldn't really draw too much different, but just like how with other fighters who seem to win often in hand to hand or get boasted as being one of the best hand to hand martial artists, have it so Spider-Man also tends to win these hand to hand fights more often. Which, now after typing that out, seems to conflict with this underdog characterization. So maybe we'll never really see him use that again. We'll only get angry Peter, lifting something way out of his normal weight class, or just beating on someone really hard without contest.

Peter goes missing and MJ asks Black Cat to help her find him. She goes undercover and gets Doc Tramma to give her some cybernetics that give her bad luck shit and helps MJ rescue Peter. Was an ok storyline. The characters bounced well off each other.

Wouldn't mind seeing her and MJ go into business together owning a nightclub while falling into adventures from time to time.

Aside from a few random issues here and there and the cartoon growing up, I didn't get seriously into his comics til Ultimate launched. Not necessarily. The symbiote loves/is obsessed Peter, that's their dynamic, not anyone elses, and I'd be annoyed if they take that unique thing and implant it over to a completely different character.

The reason why the symbiote was so taken by Spider-Man in the first place was becuse he was Peter Parker, a good noble soul that freed it from imprisonment. Gwen is a completely different person, you feel me? So if they give her the same dynamic it'd be as bullshit as giving her black suit the same designs as Spider-Man - there is no reason for it, it's just gifting one character the unique attributes of another for convience and the sake of plot/fan appeal (Silk).

They should really find a different approach for her symbiote, though. Like maybe she doesn't get rid of it like Pete did, or maybe the one from her universe IS bad news and she's justified in wanting to get rid of it. But in any case it is a presumptuous assumption that the relationship between Gwen and her symbiote would be anything like Peter and the Venom symbiote.

The problem with this question is you're asking to rationalize the irrational. Not to be dismissive, because these kinds of things are fun to think about, but at the end of the day we all kind of have to shrug and chalk it up to comic book logic because in the real world there are no super powers, so trying to explain them is eventually going to be futile.

That said, let's play along. The physical powers are easiest to explain. Super strength, durability, reflexes, agility, healing. Increased muscle density/efficiency, bone density, tougher skin covers most of that, with a more robust nervous system accounting for some of the rest (muscle memory/reflexes are mostly nerves.) Maybe metabolism for the healing. The thing with all of those is that they rely on distinct physical structures in the body. That means, there's not really going to be an on/off switch. You don't just wake up one day and lose the majority of your muscle fibers or nerve function, you know? At least not in the way of losing your "powers." So those things would likely stay the same, or maybe slowly degrade over time back to normal human levels.

Then we have wall crawling, which is sometimes a physical trait (hairs) sometimes a metaphysical one (electromagnetism or however they explain it these days.) If it's physical, see above. If it's metaphysical, there might be a way to disrupt the energy field responsible for it.

Spider sense is almost definitely metaphysical in nature, as it's practically (or sometimes literally) precognition. It gives him information that he literally could not physically perceive. So that's something that could be blocked or disabled... Probably.

So yeah, if we're pretending to be scientific, "losing his powers" would probably leave him without his spider sense or wall crawling, but leave him with his superhuman physical traits at least for a while before they degenerated. Possibly he'd keep them though, depending on what mechanism sustains them.
