Only the first two series. By the time of Tamers, they had loosened up most of the shitty jokes and maintained the seriousness, though there were some iffy choices nonetheless less like certain plot-centric lines being altered.

Frontier and Savers were pretty much spot-on to the original, though the later had a certain moment changed. I heard the Fuse series were 4kids tier of bad, but because the channel they aired it on was being really anal about details.

Two of them were, Hunk and Pidge. It was Keith, Lance, and Sven that pretty much mixed it all up, and then Alura outright dons a suit that isn't even a color on the robots.

Really though, it's just Japan's longstanding boner for "Red is the color of the main hero", even though Keith in both versions of the series was never that much more important than the other pilots, even if he did form the head.
