None of the prequel villains were interesting. The closet was Dooku due to his relationship with QuiGon/Obi-wan which was fucking wasted.

Kylo on the other hand was improperly trained, a personal connection with previous heroes, a desire to live up to his grandfather's legacy which he never will (and he knows that). On top of that he raw ability. Ya he lost a lightsaber fight, after suffering multiple injuries including an explosive round to the rib that causes stormtroopers to go flying. And again, he did that without having finished his training yet.

Kylo has the potential to be interesting unlike the Prequel villains who were boring as sin.

Thanks for uploading TFA. Finally watched and was surprised I enjoyed it. I definitely see the criticism about it being too much like ANH. In reality, it was a blend of all the Star Wars films. That's one of the things I dislike the most but it did set up future movies to be more stand-alone like new aliens and planets.Overall, it's an okay addition to the series.

Also, there were a lot of prequel callbacks. There was more nostalgia to the OT but they werent omitted.

Ahsoka fights Vader, she barely escapes. Kanan and Ezra both somehow believe the other to be dead and Kanan leaves with Ahsoka. Ezra has been left with Maul, alone, and there really aren't any other options than follow him at the moment.
Season 3
Ezra isn't complete edgelord, just switches between Angry and unemotional. Sabine is noticeably turned on by this change. Ahsoka, however, after seeing the damage one turned Jedi like Anakin can cause, she decides she'll kill Ezra on sight, which conflicts with Kanan's desire of saving him.

Not specifically that, but force users are likely to be ESPECIALLY good at anything they put their mind and effort to, and tend to outclass non-force users. The Jedi and the Sith looked for little kids who were displaying that greatness over their peers at such a young age, because it was usually a good signified of a force-wielder.

They explore the post-Order 66 consequences of this in A New Dawn. When Kanan was just drifting through the galaxy, taking on odd jobs to make money, he'd find the force was making things generally easier for him, and that exceptionalism made him stand out. So he drank a lot to keep his mind unfocused and never stayed in one place for too long.

The Sith snatched him from his mother's arms? Is that supposed to make Ezra warm up to him or his own warped view of events, since Talzin basically throws babies at anyone bothering her.

We saw with Savage that Maul wanted to be a better master than Sheev was, and Ezra could be someone he'd have some chance to live success through, so his own ambition might be somewhat satisfied. Ezra would be revenge tool on one side, but also a person he'd have to come to trust and respect. Shades of grey are more interesting and realistic in personal relationships, and him being unable to treat Ezra as just one thing would be another crumbling from Sith teachings.

Maul has a certain iconic nature in his appearance. The interview touches on that. He's in many ways a Star Wars devil figure. The kicker? He's not even the bigger bad! The true threat, the phantom menace, if you will, is the sweet old man you wouldn't suspect is behind all the madness.

It's a bit more than "just a meme" when people have been clambering for TR-8R merch. They're voting for him with their dollars. In significant numbers? No clue. Sometimes it's hard to tell a vocal minority from a true fan following.

Still it's not just the weird little wavy motion he does, the nature of TR--8R I can't even believe we're suddenly debating him seriously but oh well conversations move in strange ways, or his bravado in throwing away his weapon and shield, or that he beat Finn. It's that the character seems to be taking this personal, beyond even the notion that he hates any traitor Stormtrooper. It's where the backstory of Nines comes in. Even if you didn't know the backstory, and it indeed wasn't overtly connected at first even though people guessed it, there seemed to be something very PERSONAL about the way TR-8R went after Finn. There felt like there was a story behind all that.

I honestly would not be surprised if he showed up again in some capacity. If not the movie then something further exploring their past. An appearance in another book, a comic, or even a cartoon in the future. It's the kind of nod Filoni would do.
