I just don't get it. We are provided with a small sample of instances that could *potentially* be seen as the parents favoring her brother over her, which could also potentially be construed as an act of racism on their part. We are left to ponder, are they really racist? Is there another reason they're favoring Walky? Are they favoring Walky at all? Is this just all in Sal's head? Are these memories selective, a tiny sample of "They chose my sibling over me!" in a lifetime in which both of them probably had a fair share of such moments, maybe in equal measure? There might actually be some interesting developments to this...
