this is the epitome of the problem. Hal automatically becomes the special, best ever "always wins with willpower" hero with such bare defining characterization as "ballsy because my father and I are pilots so I have to take risks, which also makes me hard-headed. I am also brave and courageous like every other superhero". the problem with geoff's run is every other character but hal is good. God his sinestro and black hand and saint walker are godsends but hal gets reduced down to a few traits of personality and nothing complex or multifaceted

I'd say to bring back Linda too but they won't even like Arthur and Mera be married. We're lucky Barda and Scott still are. I don't think it's truly realistic even if they cave with Wally himself. Best bet if you want the kids is to have Wally and the kids come from Convergence without her and have them deal with that otherwise you're dealing with a somewhat deaged Wally and maybe bringing his kids to the present via time travel, but I don't see how you get Linda too. Maybe you just throw in some excuse for them finding her after Convergence and getting thrown into the main universe afterward, but that's about it.

It's much harder than fixing Wally himself at least. And you can always redo the relationship anyway.

Hal and Ollie are both fleshed out complex characters, they didn't add Ollie to the book because Hal was "too boring", hell if you read the letters from O'Neil's run half of them wanted Ollie gone

Hal wasn't boring or bland before Parallax, that was literally a sales stunt and I doubt anybody thinks Knightfall or DAROS or Ollie's death happened because Bruce/Supes/Ollie were too boring
