It was the first thing I read from Spurrier so if he would've gone overboard he would've turned me off, I heard plenty of praise directed towards him so I was ready to hate him if he did something really bad. Instead I found a nice creative little comic that actually uses the medium to it's fullest and isn't written just to be adapted into a shitty tv show. I then check out The Spire and was super bored(and the fact that the MC is also a lesbian made me go "fucking really?"). And I recently just read Six Gun Gorilla.

I thought so too but I didn't get that in Six Gun Gorilla. If anything, he surprised me about how well he gave the characters distinct voices without making his dialogue obnoxious. And I was prepared to hate Six Gun Goriila from the get go because I hate "this is wacky! isn't this wacky, reader? xD" bull crap and a gorilla with guns sounded like something I'd hate. Marvel's connections with younger audiences is almost entirely accidental. They need people in the backroom, and at the top, who don't travel solely in the same circles they do.

I'm curious to see how well the Squirrel Girl OGN does.
Same creative team and a character who just did well in trades, but OGNs typically don't do so hot unless you're Batman or Superman and have a big name creator on it.
The rest of marvel's OGNs tended to do about 9k the first month so it'll be interesting to see how SQ compares.
And I'm assuming that henderson works fast enough that she can work on two things at a time no problem so the artist having to wait for money may not be an issue.

I think what makes it impressive is how much of it used real cars and stunts while filming at high speeds.
