I felt like the collar thing was a bit too heavy handed, and a collar would only make sense if there were any domesticated animals in Zootopia. As far as I could tell, they were all wild animals. The pred/prey relationship has more in common with race relations that a world where preds are forced to wear collars. That seems more like Nazi Germany.

I'm very happy with the final product, you can still feel the love that the makers put into it. I wouldn't have minded the "original," but I don't think I would've liked it as much, and I definitely don't like the ending of the original. It would also have done much worse at the box office, with general audience appeal. But I do like my concept art book, lots of neat stuff. The decision to "see it through Judy's eyes" was definitely for the better, and allowed the interactions between Nick and her to shine.

Keep in mind this world is built such that all animals obtain sentience and developed civilization over time, just as we had. It's an interesting anthropological thought experiment to think what differences and similarities would there we. From the historical concept art, we know they first used simple stone tools and made spears like us, and they also obviously don't have the taboo with fur items (Mr. Big's rug) as we would have with a human rung.

Why does it hurt so much knowing that i'll never live in zootopia or talk to nick or judy? These feelings can't be good for me.

This was a fun movie about racism. I hope the next movie is about mixed-race dating. They could do a lot with the concept, like having Judy's parents trying to arrange a relationship for her with the nice rabbit two farms over despite her clearly starting a relationship with Nick, and they try their best not to be bigoted to him when they come to visit but it still slips out.

The new script works better than the old because in the old, the only one who held prejudice was Hopps.

In the actual film, Judy is looked down upon because of her race/species/whatever, and no one believes she can be a real cop. And then Judy has prejudice against preds and specifically foxes due to past experiences.

It showed that both sides have their prejudices, and that they can both learn from them instead of labeling one side good and the other bad.

I want the villain to be a Crobra, who's trying to end the reign of the mammals and starts doing these terrorists attacks with reptiles on the city but turns out she's actually being controlled by a small bird, who wants to start a war that will kill everything else off.

Asigning real life races to any of the characters is a pointless endeavour, since they all embody different real life prejudices and bigotry.

Bunnies and the word 'cute' being like an ethnic slur, sheep and their wool invoking black people and their hair, predators in general being a feared minority but also occupying powerful positions over prey animals in Zootopia's society.

Nothing is a one for one with real life societies. It's a metaphor, not an allegory.
