I just watched this series yesterday and loved every minute of it, very underrated. I didn't get this scene though, why did they kiss?

Keep in mind that most of that last season never happened, many storylines went nowhere. One of them was Censordoll starting an affair with Clay in order to usurp him later on.
Others included the nurse hanging out with her son more, the rape-victim teacher getting pregnant, and the deah of one of the side-characters.
