Why did Thanos become a farmer?
>>79771939
to earn money and save up enough to buy a helicopter
He can't be evil all the time.
>>79771939
It's how Infinity Gauntlet ended.
>>79771939
>Why did Thanos become a farmer?
After the Infinity Gauntlet. He faked his death and retired to contemplate what he should do with his life. Starlin preferred a sometimes sympathetic Thanos as compared to the cartoonishly evil one we get these days.
>>79772084
who's Starlin.
>>79772063
farming must be super hard because he quit almost immediately and went back to space shit
>>79772099
Jim Starlin is the guy who took over Marvel after Abner Landing created Thanos in Annihilation.
>>79772099
>>79771939
If Thanos ever becomes playable in a videogame again, his farmer clothes should be an Alternate Outfit
>>79772195
>Thanos drops the Infinity Gauntlet and picks up the hoe
>shit just got real
Aaaaand we're back at Helicopter levels of silly.
>>79772110
Not super hard for someone like Thanos. Super BORING.
>>79772084
very sympathetic.
Starlin is a hack.
>>79772316
What?
Thanos finally had the Infinity Gauntlet, controlled all reality, his big dream.
Then BAM, he doesn't have it anymore because the whole time it wasn't what he truly wanted.
I'd be "I need to do something quiet and think about this" fucked up, too.
>>79771939
He got exiled.
>>79772137
Klarion should try to get a little more sun;
he's a witch not a vampire, sun shouldn't hurt him
>>79772110
That happened because someone (The Magus) sent Thanos's doppelganger to spy on him at the start of Infinity War. Thanos does not like being trifled with and came out of retirement to deal with the situation.
>>79772110
The interesting thing is, up until the end of Thanos Imperative (where he was brought back to life against his will, among other things) he stayed as a vaguely anti-heroic character for decades since.
I mean, he was an antagionist frequently, sure, but he usually had the universe's best interests in mind.
>>79772099
Leader of the USSR.
>>79771939
>Why did Thanos become a farmer?
> Darkseid was a farmer
>>79772349
it's boring because not only does he get away scot-free, he only 'loses' because he secretely wanted to.
>>79772523
>but he usually had the universe's best interests in mind
He helps Annihilus cuz he's bored and wants to see what would happen
>>79772614
>Scott-free
>get blue balled by death and put through the fucking grinder so he can talk to her again.
>>79772685
How many times has he fixed the flaws in the universe?
Like 3 times?
>>79772614
>Despite all opposition, I have been the reason all my plans have failed across countless millennia
>Not them, me.
>scot-free
Anon....
>>79772685
Right, my bad, I forgot HOW he got involved with Annihilation, I just remembered him freeing Galactus and letting him destroy the Annihilation Wave.
>>79771939
Because Thanos is a nihilist and after achieving literally everything and losing it because he is self hating he has an existential breakdown.
>>79772926
>>Right, my bad, I forgot HOW he got involved with Annihilation
he was curious.
>>79771963
underrated
>>79772099
Just some bird.
>>79772738
This boner is wrong.
>>79772738
>implying
>>79772926
Drax killed him before he could do that. Surfer was the one who actually freed Galactus.
Was Annihilation the first appearance of loli Death? Or did she show up in a previous story?
>>79773153
I hated this whole part of Annihilation. Not only did Drax suddenly sprout new powers that allowed him to track down and one-shot Thanos, but doing so should by all rights have been a catastrophic fuckup. Fortunately the DM essentially said "You have the fighter hit it really hard with his sword? OK, that fixes everything" and let them come up with a plan that somehow bypassed all of Thanos's codes and plans in the least subtle way imaginable.
>>79771939
>that scarecrow
10/10
>>79772132
Thanos existed long before Annihilation.
>>79772084
Even in Annihilation, he was kinda an antihero. He did technically help save the universe after all.
Then they rolled him back into the 90s Darkseid marvel clone. fuck nu-marvel.
>>79774036
You have to assume thanos did plan for his death. And since he was ready to betray Annihilus, he only made up that only he could free galactus to try to talk his way out of dying to drax (presumable the only one who could kill him)
>>79772738
what comic
>>79772099
I hate you
>>79772738
Death is a cunt
>>79777020
Thanos Vol 1
The arc from the pic is easier to find in decent quality on some comprehensive Annihilation Crossover torrent, since its kinda a prelude to it
Because at the end, it doesn't matter how much power you get if you aren't happy with yourself.
Look around you, most "successful" people end exactly like that, in a farm and as far as they can from big cities.
Because he got bored ofUltimate power.
Fucking Adam warlock ruined everything. He just wanted to be left alone.
Check out Plato's Republic and the Myth of Er to find the meaning behind Thanos being a simple farmer.
It's like pottery. It rhymes.
