If anything, the more likely reason is because people grew disinterested, combined with new weapons and life style changes, so there are less people who're willing to put a lot of work in training, while old skilled people are dying out, and few of them are willing to talk about their styles if you don't show interest, impress them, pay them and so on.

In Emerald's case, I do think that homosexuality would add more than making most other individual characters gay.

It would add more meaning and depth to her obvious affection towards Cinder. But it would also have a sad side, since Cinder really doesn't seem like the sort who could reciprocate that, so Emerald might never get what she really wants in life. A good way to make her sympathetic without making her contradict her moral conduct thus far.

Also, it would make the shipping jokes all the more hilarious, as they would be factual.

Weiss has lived in fear of the White Fang her entire life, her only positive interaction with faunus has been Blake. She should have a lot more hang ups over faunus, instead she acts like a western liberal and constantly apologizes for things she didn't do, meanwhile Blake constantly defends faunus Al Qaeda which she was a part of. This is a problem with the show as a whole, we're told that racism against faunus is a big deal yet the only racists we ever see are A. Roman a criminal whos a jerk to everyone and B. Cardin a bully whos a jerk to everyone. Meanwhile we've seen hundreds of faunus criminals and even Sun has called the White Fang a cult, so yeah when Blake goes on a rant and calls the White Fang 'misguided but with good intentions' even if they want to kill all humans it makes her look a little crazy.

And then you have Weiss apologizing to Trumpet Guy for her dad putting his dad out of business, this is dumb on a lot of levels but in particular it seems to imply that Weiss, a heir to a major company, doesn't seem to know how the free market works. There's only so much pie and everyone is fighting over it, even Roosterteeth is cutting into someone's profits.

There hasn't been much outside of season one presumably because of there not being much opportunity in the main story. I'm guessing there's gonna be a lot more in the coming episodes, since we have another attack coming.
It's been, at least partially mentioned, that Weiss has not condoned her father's more recent business practices and in fact has drifted farther from them both. It's why she hasn't contacted him despite her sister's advising.

Weiss is deliberately trying to distance herself from her dad, who is by all accounts a corporate douchebag who is a "captain of industry" or "robber baron" type, who uses exploitive tactics and probably strong arms people out of business.

We don't know she's only has positive interactions with Faunus though Blake (though that's the only one we see) though she's casually offensive to Sun when he shows up with her assumptions of his criminalocity and so on. I'm also not sure she apologized for saying the White Fang was liars, thieves and murderers, they just kind of blow past that with Blake. But she does seem to typically be biased vs the White Fang as opposed to Faunus in general, again, probably because of SDC/her dad's bad rap with them.

Now, obviously, Weiss is still a kid, and this is the first time she's probably really been out from under her family's wing, so it's entirely possible that no, she doesn't understand free market economics, assuming somebody in Remnant has had time to build serious economic theories and write about them. But really, the point is that her old man is dragging the family name through the mud - one way or another. Weiss doesn't care for it. Winter doesn't care for it. Weiss actually wants to leave behind a family legacy where people can look at her and her heirs and say "they were good people" or at least "they were not as shitty as that guy before them".

I know for certain that this was adapted for military use at some point in the last century but the books and articles I've read only provided a general overview of sorts on the subject. Mostly on the declawing and move away to stuff like boxing and kickboxing for the younger generations.

Information on specific styles is beyond me. I know they're recovering to a degree with actual physical combat being allowed in competition since the seventies or eighties but it's always been small scale to a degree, not having the money or exposure stuff like Kickboxing has.

The big thing kind of saving the styles is Sanda. It's not a fucking style but some kind word for the actual sparring and competition part of it but it largely took what worked and focused on it like what MMA did to boxing, Muy/Dutch/American kickboxing BJJ, and wrestling

Now admittedly my thing is boxing and I really only looked this shit up and read about it to impress a girl so feel free to correct me.
