This. The Jedi never just steal a kid from their crib in the middle of the night. Even then, the parents always have the choice to decline. The Jedi will warn of the risks and implore otherwise, but they won't insist or impose.

Ezra is a pretty good recent example. You'll never be able to properly tap into the Force without the training to do so, hence Qui-Gon's saying when Anakin learns to "quiet" his mind, he'll hear the Midichlorians speaking to him. You don't just 'get' to be able to use the Force once you're deemed Sensitive, you need to actively learn it from people who do. Otherwise, you'll just be left with heightened awareness and reflexes to take advantage of. All you really need to worry about at that point are the Sith or Inquisitors coming knocking at your door next to tell you about their slave and property, the Dark Side

The Jedi are reluctant to do that because they say the baby's mind has already been awakened to the Force, and giving her back now could be dangerous. Huh? None of the lightsaber combatants were very experienced with the lightsaber. The only one who did relatively well was Kylo as he showed some evidence of Prequel-era Jedi training while treating his weapon as more of a European claymore. It didn't 'throw out' anything. Finn and Rey were not experienced duelists which is why their fighting was sloppy, clunky and for the most part strictly reactionary.

That's because it isn't really a Star Wars movie. It's a JJ-esque fast paced thriller that doesn't stop for breaths. Lacks that timeless mythical feel of the previous trilogies. TFA awakens feels very artificial and engineered by a committee and I doubt it will stand the test of time as well as the others have. Sure it made a lot of money but so has transformers and that's baseline generic schlock too.

That's just my opinion though. I'll say it's a fun enough flick but it kinda bored me. The visuals were stale and rehashed and it lacks any real depth beyond 'oh hey remember this from the OT!'

I love star wars from the OT to the PT, TCW and the EU but I didn't feel the magic in this new movie. In terms of cinema I'm worried star wars has lost that indie flare GL gave it and now it's destined to be MCU 2.0 for Disney.

I'm not one of those fans that needs to gorge themselves with star wars films. I was happy with what we were getting before the disney buyout. I just feel less is more when it comes to SW films, underworld was to be the most expensive tv show in history and TCW was beyond any budget of a cartoon. We're never likely to see dedication like this again and that's sad. Rebels is a massive drop in quality and so is TFA.

I don't know what it is with this design, but I love the forked front with the hanger bay in the middle, and the flat bridge is far easier to defend then with "modern" Star Destroyers.
