I like how by the end of the series Nightwing admitted he was a shitty leader do to habits he picked up from Batman and Aqualad was the better man for the job. One of many reasons I hate how we never got a third season because we got so little of him, but than again I guess in retrospect that's true of most of the old cast. Fucker was also the only one besides Blue Beetle who didn't immediately get stomped by Black Beetle even if he was obviously completely outclassed.

Well, never mind that YJ Artemis is practically donut steel, she was easily the most compelling of the team since Superboy/M'gann was a wash.

I liked Superboy but the moment he grew up and got his shit together. They decided to focus on M'gaan and what a bitch she was. When Superboy as a peripheral character was dealing with more interesting shit she was.

Suicidal, his best friend betrayed the team, actually now has to cover for Superman like he always wanted. Dealing with his locked aging. Dealing with a ex girlfriend who tried to mind rape him.

I just felt bad for Superboy during season 2.

I'm not sure I'd call him awomanizerat all. He does love women. He connects with them. He doesn't cheat on them either. But at this moment in his life (he's still a teenager, after all), he's just not ready to settle down. I don't think that's wrong, as long as everyone is honest with each other and themselves, which admittedly isn't always easy. But since he's still friends with all his exes, Dick must be doing something right.

As to all your "when" or "who else" questions
What was your reason for having Dicks character be such a womanizer?

I don't think he is a womanizer, at least not in the traditional sense that most people use that word. He doesn't lie about who he's with. He's been exclusive for periods of time. He's never cheated on any girl. He always calls the next day. Etc.

Dick has tremendous respect for women, in my opinion. And that respect makes him interested in many women for each one's very different qualities. And that fundamental respect (alongside his other attributes) makes him extremely attractive to a diverse group of powerful women, who know he's secure enough not to require them to be 'less powerful' when dating him.

Also keep in mind, he's still pretty darn young. Should he really be settled down by age 19? I just don't think he's quite ready to settle down, and obviously Barbara agrees.

As for why we made that creative choice, given his history, it just seemed right for the character.
