WHO THE FUCK DRAWS THIS SHIT
>>78758687
Salvador Larocca, who is notorious for this kind of thing.
It's not called drawing, it's called overlining.
What's the matter?
>>78758687
wait Vader fights Grievous?
>>78758687
>>78758687
Larocca. Believe me, the quality of Vader is diminished due to both he and Deodato.
It makes great reaction images though.
>>78758938
He fights the new Grievous
>>78758687
Vader's face looks fine to me
Why was making the SWEU non-canon a good idea again?
>>78759185
It allows Disney to get rid of stuff that most people don't know or care about, and so they're not beholden to follow the stories of the books and other media which are unfamiliar to most Star Wars fans.
>>78759185
There was a LOT of complete shit in it.
>>78759185
because
>Luuke
>Space jihadis that actually win
>Masters of Teras Kasi
>Rosh Penin
Just a few reasons
>>78759130

>>78759225

But the good outweighed the bad, and its replacement hasn't been an improvement in the slightest.
I'm kinda stunned that Larocca is outputting stuff like this, unless he's doing both pencils and inks. The latest work by him that I read (X-Men No More Humans OGN) didn't have any derpy faces as far as I can remember.
Why all SW comics are literally rotoscoping
>>78759777
its like poetry, it rhymes

It's so bland. the characters look ugly and lifeless and it makes the Star Wars universe looks like such a boring place. I guess they expect the readers to be die-hard Star Wars puritans who wouldn't stand for any inaccuracies.
Personally I'd like to see A star Wars comic drawn by an artist who may not get the faces and props 100% true to the movies but will be able to capture the spirit and aesthetic of the Star Wars universe.

>Personally I'd like to see A star Wars comic drawn by an artist who may not get the faces and props 100% true to the movies but will be able to capture the spirit and aesthetic of the Star Wars universe.
I think the problem with this is license holders, and often the actors themselves. When you license a movie, the license holder often has final say over how the art comes out. They want to make sure everything looks familiar and 'on-model'. Christopher Priest on his site has a story about how when he was working on the Conan comics for Marvel, he had to ship pencils to the company that owned Conan at the time for approval. Once, they called him back and asked him to take the bones out of the noses of some black tribesman characters, "because you know how those people can be." (Fun Fact: Priest is black)
Weirdest I ever heard was a little-known Mission: Impossible comic Marvel put out, where Tom Cruise had them change a panel.
>Rare, only a few copies exist, the rest having been destroyed by the publisher. When Paramount and Marvel Comics teamed up for this one-shot Mission Impossible comic book based on the 1996 film (starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt), Marvel did not have the rights to use Tom Cruise’s likeness, so they depicted Ethan Hunt as an average brunette action hero. After the issue was finished and had gone to press, Tom Cruise read his advance copy and expressed concern that Ethan looked too feminine in two panels on page three. As a consequence, Marvel ordered the printing destroyed, but as is often the case, a few copies survived. Except for the two panels previously cited, “B” copies will be identical to the 2nd printing “A” copies (see A and B page 3 comparisons).
So... the OP's upset because it's not giant eyes and no noses, like in his japanimation?
It's not tracing if it's traced poorly: ^ )
>>78760611
No, the faces and proportions on them fail to be as realistic as it's aiming for.
>>78759217
Don't give Disney more credit than their worth in this, they don't give a bag of dicks what Star Wars continuity is, all they want is for their $3billion investment to make them money. The fine folks at Lucasfilm always knew if they were to make post-RotJ movies, it would pretty much mean their books & comics would have to be cast aside in favor of them, and it was just easier to get rid of essentially everything than to pick & choose.
>>78758994
Is that the same artist as this or different one?
>>78760814
Different. That's Stuart Immonen
>>78758766
Huh. I remember him being pretty on the old X-Treme X-Men book way back in the old days.

I'm not seeing how it's off.

>>78760814
How on earth can't you tell the difference between Larocca and Immonen?
Do you people even read comics?
>>78761053
to play the doubles advocate, the evil power rangers are almost certainly a piss take of nothin' personnel OCs.
Is there a SW comic outside of Dark Empire that doesn't have awful art?
I guess SW is an instant buy for SW nerds and an instant no-buy for non SW fans regardless of quality or content.

This girl with her underpants and everything being visible is fucking gross...

Because Star Wars had no divisions between media, like other /co/ properties. Where we can recognize multiple Spider-Man cartoons, comic runs, and the movies as being relatively separate entities, the Star Wars EU had everything be reasonably the same level of canon. This is only a problem because Disney, unlike Lucas, is actually trying to make more movies. Clearing house allows them creative room to do anything, we don't expect a cape movie to be a verbatim adaptation of a comic arc (unless it is), and it lets Disney not have to compensate writers for using their stories and ideas.
The Star Wars canon was destined to have problems that the comics industry has avoided for decades. As long as Disney keeps the good stuff in print, the Legends label might exactly what Star Wars needed...
...if it weren't for the fact that the new comics are considered canon. They're going to make the same mistake that they just cleaned up.
>>78761614
Man, I've not thought about that in ages. The first trade I ever bought from my first LCS was the first volume of the Return Of The Jedi manga. Manga-style Twi'lek dancing girl did things for me. I never found any of the other volumes though.
