General rebellion timeline;
>Rose rebels for some reason ~5750 years ago, possibly 5776 for Jewish reasons.
>Rebellion starts off small, slowly gathers more followers starting with Garnet.
>From ~5750-5500 years ago, most of the Rose-related ruins are built on Earth.
>~5500 years ago something goes down that pushes things into an outright war.

Leaks idea;
>The four Diamonds are two pairs of contrasting personalities.
>Blue and Yellow Diamond are one pair, with Blue being calm, thoughtful, and lawful while Yellow is energetic, impulsive, and chaotic.
>White and Pink are the other pair, with Pink being loving, emotional, and experimental while White is cold, calculating, and traditional. Pink is not necessarily Rose Quartz, but Rose was probably a follower of hers at some point.
The Diamonds lead different gems based on these personality traits, which line up with their general color schemes as well.

Nah, I don't think cross gem fusions has happened before at that point because Ruby was afraid of touching Sapphire. Sapphire was a high class gem and Ruby was a low class gem, there must be a hierarchy system where lower gems are crushed for being too close to high class gems.

Considering how cross fusions only happened when gems touch or share a bond, the likes of this happened between different hierarchies is unlikely. Also Jasper was a warrior gem who heard of cross gem fusions but never had the chance to try it before because she finds it disgusting like every other gem from the homeworld.

I dunno. I could definitely make them making Garnet be the first cross-Gem for symbolism's sake, but I kind of like the idea that a rare few pairs of Gems found ways to keep their relationships secret while still having them. Ruby and Sapphire both shared slightly romantic looks with each other and I think that could happen to others. Maybe somewhere out there there was a Peridot that fell for some noblegem's Pearl, and the two fused in secret. They got found out, and were shattered without a second thought.

It's just guesswork, but Garnet seems to be metaphor for a proud, solid, but taboo relationship. Other Gems might have committed the taboo as well, but never in the way that she did: out in the open, exploratory, and eventually unashamed.

Gems have a full on royal system, complete with aristocracy and nobles. Would have preferred them to be more pragmatic, them being a sci-fi empire and all.

They look like they feel. Pearl being a synthesized gem might of course be an exeption, even everyone on homeworld might be an exception as they feel the pressure to conform. That's why Ruby didn't feel different when she fused with rubies: they were all the same. But returning to the subject: Pearl at war needed to be a grown-up, Pearl in times of relative peace had the luxury to relax and be nurtured by Rose as a youth, maybe with Amy being a baby at the time they even decided to simulate a human family.

As for brittleness, not really. There's a thing called Mohs scale, which is used to determine the hardness of gemstones, and it goes from 1 to 10; 1 is the weakest/most fragile, 10 is the hardest. Amethyst/quartz crystals rank at 7 which is pretty damn high, and diamond is 10.

We don't actually know if there are warrior gems though. We have just seen bodyguards. Also I doubt Homeworld ever fights alien species. They seem pretty dismissive of the capabilities of all gem life and only gave one of their techs a BODYGUARD after they discovered gems left on Earth. Also, beside the handship beams and light canons, we haven't seen much in the way of weapons of war. The destabilizers look more like policing weapons. For all we know Homeworld knows little of war and is more of a inward looking police state.

Looking back, she actually made a pretty great antagonist.
She was just on the borderline of being directly threatening, but represented something much larger. But at the same time she was clearly desperate and running out of options. It was a neat reversal of the normal protagonist-antagonist threat-levels.
