The edginess is not actually my prime concern with Qrow, so no, I wouldn't. It's just an overexposed aesthetic. Ruby pulls it off fine because her personality deviates from expectation, but one character I like that is very, very edgy is Auron from FFX.

My problem with Qrow, as I've said before, is that he's a boring execution of the archetype. Shadow is less flirtatious and broods a lot more, but they both share a stubborn if cynical commitment to order, a veiled, private affection for loved ones beneath the stubbly exterior, and a propensity to disrespect authority, belittle enemies, and snark. They're not the same, but there is an archetypal similarity. I would say the same between Qrow and Auron.
