To mix it up a lil', I've also always liked Hugh Pratt's artwork in Corto Maltese. It's not necessarily the cleanest artwork in the world, but I've always found it to be among my favorites for Eurocomics.

It also reminds a little of The Long Halloween's artwork, but that's probably just my imagination.

Pratt is absolutely fantastic, but I think it's just the coloring on that image that makes it look sale like. Sale exaggerates in his anatomy, where as Pratt is more grounded. Can't wait for in Siberia to be published in the states. Hope we get colored versions eventually.

Maybe he is still doing it, per commission basis. Maybe not. But i have asked him similar question a few months ago (He attended Comic Con in Asia). He said his Penthouse Comixxx days was way behind him, also, funny thing is, not many people commissioned him on that subject. Perhaps since his wife Allison is handling that front now.
As evidently, he is still pretty much open for drawing tasteful, cheeky nude pinup stuff.

Adam Hughes is not Greg Land, he is not photo tracing. Photo referencing, most definitely (Just like any other illustrators you can think of).
Still, he already had certain sets in mind, especially for his Catwoman, since Audrey Hepburn is pretty much the basis of her Selina Kyle drawing.

To be honest, Hughes and Dodson art style, especially the way they are drawing women are not that entirely different. I personally call their style "Long lost brother in comic art". Although, they are developing their more distinct style late in their careers. Dodson with a more Europe style sensibilities, especially with his watercolor style of coloring (His wife Rachel involved a lot in that one).

I can think of late 80s/Image Founders art style for example. You can't almost tell the different between Jim Lee and Marc Silvestri art style. Then, plenty of up and coming artists in the early 90s tried to emulate Lee and Silvestri style. Too much of our chagrin.

Is he fast? This is the kind of work that feels like it got a shitton of planning behind it despite looking very loose.

I think the comic is kind of uncomfortable to read but I guess that's the purpose of it. His style is creepy. I love how he places highlights and how he draws realistic teeth on the weird Adventure-Time-esque figures to make stuff more carnal. Technically he's really, really damn good.

Not that much. According to him, if there are two different styles in 1000 Tempêtes, it's mostly because he rewrote a lot of pages in the middle of drawing them ! So as he was running short on time, he decided to keep some pages fully watercolored, and to redraw all the other, but with digital colouring, cause faster. The book is still awesome.
