The Tinderbox was a device he stole from an evil witch that summoned beings of great strength and power in the from of dogs who represent courage (The dog with eyes as big as teacups), Hope, (The dog with eyes as big as supper plates) and Love (The dog with eyes as big as cartwheels. The Princess locked in the tower was put there by her father in the hopes that he could use her fear and despair and hate to control the Grimm. Basically Soldier saves princess everyone's happy etc. etc.

To this day people seek out the device to summon these so called "anti-Grimm", for good or for ill.

For the ultimate form of Blake's Gambol Shroud, the Pistol form becomes an SMG form, and the sheath can fold into a pistol like the original blade could, as well as being able to extend to a longer blade. The ribbon is now a whip sword with the same flexibility.

As for Yang's Ember Celica, they now launch small smart missiles, have a flamethrower mode, are the size of 5 bricks when active, and have a jackhammer attached to the front.

Pyrrha's Ultimate Miló and Akoúo̱ is pretty simple. The Shield is now Razor Sharp and splits into multiple smaller sharp discs. The rifle now has optional napalm rounds, and can fire while in sword or Javelin mode. The Javelin can now be set to fire automatically after impacting a target.

Ren's Ultimate StormFlower is a pair of SMGs with AP rounds, and Extended Magazines, which replace the blades on the original. The Magazines double as knife blades and are also explosive if thrown and then shot. Ren wears specialized gloves in order to handle his ammunition, and can throw them like knives. Exploding knives.

It's got a clear cut advancement of abilities in a straight line, but there are a bunch of small stubby branches of a few abilities, that cover sub-skills and unconventional uses of Aura/Semblance. You can choose to pursue those branches, but it means you'll take longer to move up the main line. You can choose to shoot up quickly, becoming good at the core of your character, but lacking versatility. You can choose a couple of branches to become a bit more versatile at the cost of main semblance power. Or you could become a jack of all trades, with much less focus on your main semblance use.
