Constant threads turn into generals. Generals promote like 15 types of cancer. Trip fags, off-siters, cross boarders, image dumpers, shit posters, echo chamber, spam, in-joke rituals, inundating the board with content from that general disproportionately, general culture and so on.

It's easier for /co/ to collectively hate something than like. I can understand that to a degree, when you got a thread in which everyone just agrees that the subject is good then you won't see much discussion.
That is why you won't see many threads or discussion about things in which the general consensus have agreed upon is 'good' (like, Lackadaisy, Hellboy, Ed Edd n Eddy, Nedroid and a few more examples)

Now there has been a lot more hate aimed towards Rick and Morty, lately. Calling it a Reddit show.
/co/ only dislike it now because it has gotten popular. The only connection with reddit that i can see is the fact that it is a popular show.
reddit has many users, even more so than 4chan, Reddit like 4chan will like things, lots of people like Rick and Morty, a significant percentage of them should be reddit users, 4chan is enemies with reddit, reddit likes it, 4chan must now dislike it.

If you want another example, take the Katawa Shoujo general on /vg/ for instance. It's a proven fact that people on 4chan cannot be trusted with this shit. Having daily threads on something that hasn't received new content leads to stagnation. Stagnation leads to boredom. Boredom leads to terrible off-topic discussion.
