Aura is literally just a damage absorbing field that can heal you a little. It's not something you can cast. It's just there.
Semblances can be active or passive and vary wildly based on the person. Also not magic, it's literally just ONE special skill that you can repurpose if you're lucky.
Dust is essentially just mana and allows for lots of magical occurrences to take place. Yes, it has elemental effects, but it also powers machinery and fuels society. It doesn't just augment semblances, it can control weather, etc if WoR is to be believed.
Magic, as it has been described so far, can literally do everything Dust is used for without Dust. It's literally free energy/power, which sounds incredibly dangerous.

What's the point in that it can heal you a bit? As long as you have Aura, you don't get hurt. You need Aura to heal. So you can't heal until your Aura replenishes, which can take hours? How much can it heal? Nicks? Open wounds?

RT should just have skipped the scene where Jaune gets hit by the branch, so that Pyrrha can explain Aura and heal his wound. That was one of the weirdest expositions ever. Especially with Jaune not knowing what Aura is, even though he comes from a family full of hunters.

lel. Except almost everyone uses metal weapons. Atlas' main force is robots. Guns are the most popular form of dust weaponry and bullets are made out of metal.
If we want to get really bullshit, she uses metal weapons herself and can use her semblance to alter their trajectory to be accurate 100% of the time. For super bs, blood has iron in it, and everyone else that can match Pyrrha is either a human with blood or a robot made of metal.

I'm hoping that they pay off as well. Outside Sun in V1, I've been sort of confused by what exactly they were supposed to be in the story. From what I've gathered from bits from the cast and crew, it seems like they're supposed to be important: Gavin was originally going to voice Junior but Monty pulled him out because he wanted him to voice someone "more important" and they said Josh nailed his Sage audition first try, so that makes me thing there's supposed to be a larger part.

Then again, I'm still confused by JNPR, because outside the whole Maiden bit with Pyrrha, JNPR has had no part in the overall storyline, you could edit them out of the first two volumes and not much changes.
