As for /co/, I mostly recall the reponse being negative, though there's always the chance that I'm only really remembering those comments, because moderate voices don't stand out as much.

Anyway, some people bitched that it was basically "tumblr the webcomic" because the strip that revealed that Sonny was gay also had Linton(black kid) snogging a fat, unattractive girl.
Also, some thought it was kind of stereotypically predictable to have Sonny, who's fairly sensitive & unaggressive revealed as gay, and to have a character say that it was obvious.
I only skimmed that part of the threads though, as I thought that vein of discussion was fairly tedious.

I will concede that I agree with this. JA has been hinting for a while that one of the, was gay, but I always assumed it was Linton. He seemed like he was overcompensating

I quite liked this one, for having Ryan trying to explain bad kids and whatnot from an understanding perspective, Amy worrying that she's prejudiced, then the last panel shows that she's kind of right.
It doesn't really make either of them seem particularly foolish, or dick-ish, or like they've just been set up to be torn down

I'm really not surprised that /co/ is this fucking dumb, but it's still disappointing
