Was that the browser game where you played as one of the short bionicle things?

Fuck yeah, best point and click adventure ever.
>>
>>78236824
Yes.

And OP, as much as I love to talk about Bionicle, the least you could do is lead in with something that's actually /co/. The movies or the web animations for instance. I'm afraid MNOLG counts as a /v/ topic
>>
>>78237142
Ah, I remember that every time I would open a note or read a sign in that game, you would need to press the escape button to go back to the actual game, but my button was broken, so it would basically just kill all the progress I made and would just have to reset the whole game. I remember getting to the desert city before I messed up and read something on accident. I never tried again after that.
>>
>>78237142
Is there anything Bionicle that counts as /co/? If so, the game is related, pertaining, and therefore not against rules.
>>
>>78237366
Is that how it works? Alright then, I'll withdraw my objection. In the meanwhile:
>there will never be a Bionicle animated series in the style of the online games
>>
>>78237142
We'd call this shit a webcomic today.

You wouldn't know it looking back now, but the "updates" came completely unannounced as a pathway the characters were digging broke open, or a new character showed up in a town. It was a lot of fun, and really encouraged you to keep looking around to see if something new had happened.
>>
>>78236716
When I was just a lad, I had a CD with game ads, and this was one of them. I dreamed of playing this game, but didn't have a computer that can actually play games.

I never played it.
>>
>>78238276
It was on a website. Still is, actually. You can play it now.
>>
>>78238432
I'll check. Thank you.

Absolutely loved this game. Bionicle was the first comic I ever read in floppy form.
>>
>>78237366
There was a comic book
>>
>>78240650
Is there a problem?

On another topic I remember at one point playing a fan-made sequel that used mostly the same map but with a sequel story and different games. I googled it and found there were a good couple chapters made http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/8946-mnolg-the-bohrok-swarms/

How would you rank the movies?

Web of Shadows > Mask of Light > The Legend Reborn > Legends of Metru Nui

>>
>>78242888
Sadly only seen MoL. I loved it.
>>
>>78242888
I would go with MoL > LoMN > WoS > TLR
Though mask o' light and legends of metru nui are pretty equal in my book
>>
>>78242984
I don't get it. Did it stop working or do you delete all programs that don't update periodically?
>>
I never got very far in this game. I would love to but some things I just didn't understand.
>>
>>78242888
LoMN > WoS > MoL >> LR
LoMN is hands down the best movie. Web of Shadows isn't as solid, but has the best cinematography and fight choreography of the movies. Mask of Light was... interesting. It has some genuinely interesting ideas going on narratively, dealing with the themes of Duty and Destiny, but it was also really really cheesy compared to the other movies. Legend Reborn was bland as shit, and only saved by some great voice acting, and by the fact that every single second Metus was on screen was pure gold.
>>
>>78243070
Flash is now outdated, and Adobe doesn't care. It is the #1 vulnerability point of a system.

I guess reinstalling it is an option, but it sucks Adobe stopped giving a shit.
>>
I could never finish this game.

>>
>>78243158
This opinion I support. Although all of them are pretty bad to be honest.

It was interesting to see how the movies have become darker by the time of WOS, reflecting the changes in the story, but it was let down by a meh plot and time constraints. I'd pay to see an entire series done in the same style. That would have plenty of opportunities to flesh out the world and characters, and you know, actually explain stuff instead of requiring you to look up supplementary material to know what's going on.

But that Makuta is Teridax.

I just realized the whole naming backlash is the same thing as Palpatine's being revealed as Sheev. Even better considering that they're both "master schemers taking just about everything into account" types of villains.
>>

Show.

Mini series.
>>
>>78237366
There was a CGI movie. Pretty sure that counts as /co/
>>

>>
What I never could understand was the geography of Metru nui. Was it like underneath Mata Nui? I've heard that it was supposed to brle the "brain" of the giant robot thingy
>>
>>78247021
Yes.

The Island of Mata Nui was basically the robot's camo mask when it visited different planets. The Bohrok were a system meant to clean it up before he took off, but Makuta released them early to fuck with the Matoran on the island.

That's pretty much it, every location of every story arc except the last few take place inside the giant robot that is Mata Nui; the first story arc, Voya Nui, Mahri Nui and the last arc(s) being the exceptions.

Also since we're talking about lore, that Red Star you saw in the telescope on the mountain was a jetpack for the Mata Nui robot, and housed a foundry that "repaired" dead characters as long as there was something left to be brought back from.

And Bohrok are transformed Matoran of Light; so when Nuparu makes those Boxors...
>>

>tfw I only got to play it in 2006 when they re-released it, beat it in like two hours at first go

I feel like I really missed out as a child, but on the other hand, getting to play it for the first time after all those years of reading about it and seeing random screencaps here and there was hype as fuck.

It was as if I
>Found the power
>Lived the legend
>>
Was there also a CGI Bionicle game for PC?
Cause I'm pretty sure I played something like that.
>>
>>78250919
Yes, it came out in 2003. I still have my copy; it's nostalgic, but not really a good game.

Fun fact: there was supposed to be a Bionicle PC game released in 2001. Lego even advertised it in their catalogs. But the development was apparently going so badly that they scrapped it
>>
>>78251050
Which is really too bad, it would have been the definitive version of the 2001 events.

Also, some of its CGI animation was pretty solid, especially for its time.

He's in the first two as the main villain. He's also the main villain of the entire franchise, but Web of Shadows and Legend Reborn involve other antagonists instead.
>>
That game was so awesome. Too bad the sequel is buggy and unfinished. I've got a copy of it on my hard drive somewhere around here, but the game really doesn't go anywhere after the intro and just crashes a bunch. Early 2000s lego flash games were the shit.

After they got out of Mata Nui I didn't really stick with it, even with a kid. Plot got too complicated and I didn't like any of the new characters.

I got a problem, I tried playing it recently but I keep encountering a bug. Tried it on two separate sites but didnt fix it.
When you get to Le-Wahu, when you first get the flute, if you click on the little blue box it causes an unending loop of the beginning of the following cutscene, I have to refresh the page to get out of it.
Do I have to click on the little blue box? I know you need to do something for the flute to do a Simon Says thing, but is it the blue box, or something else?

The only movie i watch as a kid with my dad was the Mask of Light. It was an incredible let down from start to finish. My dad and I (unrealistically of course) were expecting some badass bionicle violence and all we got was a fucking game of catch. I learned to stick with my imagination.

Yanno, hoping against hope I kinda wanted the fourth movie to follow the darker and more violent tone the story had at the time, and take advantage of Lego's loosened anti-violence policy which detracted so much from the previous movies.

Instead, it was cheesier and kiddier than all the others by far. A direct opposite of the bleak, death-filled books and stupidly edgy serials the writer was putting out.
