I love this team mostly because I grew up on the fucking Gold Team. Adam X has never been fully explored and I really want his original origin story become canon due to Secret Wars shenanigans. And I fucking loved Legion since Legacy so why not bring him in. Bishop's probably my favorite X-character and I was so happy when he was brought back and redeemed but they haven't done shit with him since.

Also fuck Bendis hijacking Kitty. I've been reading Astonishing again and I fucking miss her on the team.

He's a seasoned veteran, as experienced as any previous leader member (besides cyclops or Beast perhaps), moreso than the vast majority of mutants out there.

He is fiercely protective of those he cares about. He is staunch and resolute, deliberate in his actions.

Colossus will do what is necessary and he has the heart to lead a flock. He is well respected and liked by almost every mutant.

He's never had the chance to lead and would likely resist the idea but that's what would make it interesting. He's always been interesting as a conflicted individual, a shy poet in the body of a furious panzer tank. He's more than just the muscle!

Part of me just went with my favorite characters, but the other part of me knows the team dynamics would be fun. Sunfire and Namor constantly bickering, with Dr. Nemesis egging them on and Storm trying to diffuse it. X-23 and Blink being best no-nonsense buds while having Anole tag along, while Scott tries to keep the crazy train going forward.
